Since they first appeared in the 1860s, Fish and Chips have been a firm favourite with generations of Brits and remain so today. At Harry Ramsden’s we’re proud to have been serving up the nation’s best loved plate-mates for almost 90 years!                                                                                           The food we were served is not what made Harry Ramsden's fish and chips famous, batter was not crispy neither was the chips. I could see from other diners that there food wasn't crispy either. A lady sat opposite me took the batter off her fish and was able to fold it up on her plate. We ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard that came out cold, we had taken a couple of spoonfuls to establish this and the waitress took them away, microwaved them and added more custard rather than bringing out fresh desserts. Very poor and won't be going back.

                                                                                          First time there, quick response from waiting staff and shown to a choice of tables. Enough time given to decide on orders and taken correctly. Nice and slightly different prawn cocktail served then without too much wait arrived to main course..... good sized piece of fish and ample chips. Waiting staff were very friendly and kind about the period in between starter and main. Left with a good feel and would visit again wanting fish and chips.

                                                                                          The staff were very friendly and service was very good but very disappointed on the value of the food. For instance I ordered the Legendary Cod costing £14.49 expecting to receive a massive piece of fish as I was very hungry but only got what I would say was a normal large piece of fish which I could have got for half the price elsewhere. I could not recommend to a friend as better value elsewhere.

                                                                                          Food is always good as it is cooked fresh. I didn't fancy chips so had the Caesar salad with fish bites which was very nice. The salad was fresh and crisp. Its a shame they don't have the 'new' menu with a bit more choice. The over 60's meal is very good value

                                                                                          I visited on 21st February with my 4 grandchildren aged 9, 7, 5 and 11 months. Although the restaurant was not busy we had to wait 20 minutes before our order was taken. 10 minutes after the order was taken the waiter returned to our table to advise that some items on the ‘Tiddler’ menu were unavailable so the children reordered. The food arrived but one order was incorrect which left one of the children without a meal until a replacement was presented. The finished plates were not cleared away promptly and I had ask to order puddings. When the bill arrived it was incorrect and I had to point this out to a waitress. Altogether this was not a good experience which was planned as a treat for my grandchildren.

                                                                                          Good restaurant, the staff were most attentive. Only real negative was that the plates were cold, but the food was piping hot. Good food, and nicely presented.
