Food was great on a Sat. night, but the restaurant was sooo loud we had a hard time with conversation. Then live music started! Won't go back on a weekend night.
Second visit at the restaurant. We will again return. Excellent service, food is varied and delicious.
Have been there at least 5 times now and they have never disappointed!
Never again. I was impressed when our waitress Molly remembered us and exactly what we ordered our first time. Unfortunately Molly got my husband’s order wrong even though he ordered same item as before - pork chops. Too bad the bus boy brought lamb chops and looked stricken when we told him we had ordered the pork chops. Molly came by and after apologizing and said she put the correct order in and it wouldn’t be long. In the interim, the food arrived for the rest of party. 20 minutes later the food arrives. Every else had finished eating. The pork chops were great and we ordered dessert. I must admit I did expect Molly to make up for her mistake by comping us for something; dessert or reducing the bill. She did not. We didn’t tip as generously as normal. My husband didn’t want to leave a tip at all but instead we only tipped 15%. I tried to find a manager on our way out but couldn’t. There was no one at the hostess stand either. Needless to say, they have lost our business. I must say that I do find this restaurant ridiculously loud. Luckily we were seated in a quiet area. That didn’t happen the first time. Looks like Perry’s from now on!!’
Excellent food! Noise level off the charts!! why not have some acoustic panels?
Our family has our family date night here every couple of months. Usually we enjoy our dinner however this time was disappointing. Perhaps because it was terribly crowded so they had a hard time keeping up with service and the food was awful. The shrimp was over grilled and the chicken tenders hard. It was very loud making it hard to have a conversation with each other. Hopefully it was just this time that we had a bad experience.
We had requeseted a table "up front" to be part of a larger event/group. We were in fact seated at the FAR BACK of the restaurant (literally against the back wall), and told they could not move us up. After an hour or so with MANY OPEN TABLE, we relocated ourselves to a more desirable spot.
Our server was wonderful, but did not seem that the hostess had a clue about our request, or interest in making a change.
Beautiful atmosphere with food and service to match! Had a special client dinner and they made sure every detail was perfectly executed. The menu has a great selection of appetizers that works for small plate tapas-style dining, as well as a wide assortment of entrees. One guest was vegetarian and they happily made a special entree that was not on the menu. If you're looking for an alternative to the chain steakhouse business dinner or just a great evening out with friends, I highly recommend Harry & Eddies!
This was our first time here. We had requested a quieter spot off to the side if possible so they seated us in the back room which, at the time, was not crowded. Within 30 minutes they had seated 2 tables of 10+ in this small room and it became so loud we couldn't even carry on a conversation and asked to move. The manager came to check on us and apologized, and our server tried her best throughout the evening, but misunderstood our orders twice because she, too, couldn't hear what was being said. This is more of a condition of so many large groups these days who behave as if they are the only patrons in the place and are not considerate of the people seated around them. That said...the food here was fabulous - the zucchini fries are addictive and the french onion soup was prepared perfectly. We also had the bbq chicken and the derby cobb salads. Although I am not usually a fan or "pre-dressed" salads, both were absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back to Harry and Eddie's- we just make ask to sit outside next time!
Always offers a bright ambience with delicious food and exceptional customer service at Harry and Edie’s! My husband and I will go here just for drinks and sit at the bar when there is live music, or take our 6 month old and dine in the dining room- it’s nice to have a restaurant near home that is a perfect go-to!
The service is always excellent at Harry and Eddie’s and we love the derby Cobb salad! The restaurant is managed very well and we go there frequently
Plentiful portions. Good value. Chicken dishes were quite tasty and made for a good lunch the next day
Excellent Sunday brunch in great location. Nice variety of offerings. Dinner menu looked good also. Will definitely go back.
Sunday brunch--such a treat! great variety of breakfast food and lunch choices. would for sure go back! YUM!
I consider Harry & Eddie’s our go-to place. We eat here often. I planned a baseball mom’s night out. The spirits were consistently refreshing. However, I was a bit disappointed with the tuna poke bowl. It was tiny for the price and not very flavorful. I wish there were more gluten-free options. I’ll have to try something different next time. For non-gluten free options, the fried zucchini, Thai noodle salad, and key lime pie are amazing.
Thanks for accommodating our book club
Excellent food and service, Nice atmosphere and great location. Very good wine selection by the class.
Not crowded but pretty spa ce in the old theater. Burger was just mediocre, I asked for pink was told that was medium but got gray. Side salad had very nice vinaigrette. Server could have been more attentive without being intrusive but seemed bored.
onion soup was too salty to eat- no accommodations offered about that
It was a great setting, clean and food was delicious! Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Nice casual spot in downtown Hinsdale. Burger was perfectly prepared. French dip was tender and full of flavor. Meatballs with polenta appetizer solid as well! Service was fine. Great acoustic blues musician on a Saturday night!
Really good food and a nice variety on the menu.
We were warmly greeted by the Host. In my opinion, it’s decorated beautifully. Our Server was efficient and polite. The salads we had were so large I assumed we’d need take out bags. We ate Everything it was so delicious. Felt prices were a bit high and it was tough to park but hey, that’s Hinsdale. Host gave us a coupon for our next visit. I will return!
Great lunch place
Time with granddaughters
This was our fourth visit to Harry and Eddie's. We love the place! It is quite pretty with a great bar. The food was great, the service wonderful and a nice buzz in the atmosphere of conversations.
Try the grouper.
This is my second time visiting your restaurant. I love the ambiance in my neighborhood restaurant.
Food always good so far.
I like the classy yet relaxed atmosphere.
I will return
Our meal was wonderful. The server was exceptional. It's a great little fun place!
Loved that there was energy and lots of people, but it wasn’t too loud and I could still converse with the people around my table. We will definitely be back!
Visited to try out the Restaurant week menu. It was fabulous!
Short Rib with Polenta was delicious!!! Just the right amount of food for a great price.
Enjoyed restaurant week meal! Been there before and glad to come back.
Nice little neighborhood gem. Terrific entrees presented very well. Not the same old things you see everywhere. GREAT appetizer menu if you want just drinks and apps. Will definitely be back.
Had an excellent meal on the first day of Restaurant Week. As Alice Waters’ sister, I’ve had many fabulous meals. This ranks with the best!
Love the food here!!
Noise is out of control, so I would only recommend with the comment about the noise
Food was tasty overall, although my grouper was a little dry. I enjoyed the preparation, the house salad is fresh and light which was great, and we enjoyed the appetizers. Our waitress was very good, but the bus boys bumped into our table a couple of times and kept trying to take our dishes before we were finished. We almost had too much service! It is also very noisy. The look of the restaurant is lovely, but the acoustics are very bad. Finally, they had that martial arts wrestling going on the television. Not what one wants to see when going out for a nice dinner.
This was our first experience at H & E’s. It was almost a really good one. Ambiance was rated lower because of the high noise level - hard to hear person sitting next to or across from you. Pasta and shellfish dish very good as was blackened salmon (though kale salad side was disappointing).
