In our lounge we have live jazz nightly.
Although the lounge is available for more casual dining, we do have a dress code in the main dining room: please, no shorts, t-shirts or sportswear.

Great! The martini in the ice bucket, the filet, oysters and desert were all perfect
Good old time steak house and place for prime rib.
Good size portions.
After dinner talk a walk to the Wharf to walk it off.
Any extras take "to go" and you can give to the homeless people who would enjoy them.
Great service and food was phenomenal!! Bar service was great as well!!
The room is a stately, calm. Waiters does the work accurately. The sommelier chooses our favorite wine to match the dishes. As an appetizer, we ate raw oysters, Dungeness Club cake and Caesar salad. The main aged beef steak is a naturally delicious, it was perfect also the butt of vegetables. We chose sorbet, cheesecake for dessert. Drinking one sparkling rosé wine and two cabernet sauvignon wines, it cost about $ 750 for four people.
One the best restaurants in San Francisco!
This is the classic steakhouse experience. And, unlike most in SF it's not a ripoff. Prices are fair (not cheap, fair) and steaks come with potato and vegetable. Wine list is also extensive and fairly priced. Plus, outstanding martinis.
A place with good ambience and interesting renovation, good food and service, will definitely go back!
Service was great and food is also good. I expected better quality meet for the price.
An excellent steak! We had fantastic service and it's a really cool restaurant - kind of old school. Their wine is way over priced for the selection. Being in California, you would think they would have more then just the standards, but still over priced. Overall, a good place to eat and drink. Great martinis!
Service was slow and the order was messed up. Two of the steaks had to be refired as they were raw. Dinner dragged on for close to 3 hours. Way to long and drawn out.
Fantastic service by our server, Damon. Eddie, the sommelier was great as well. The food was absolutely incredible. Love this place!
My family has been coming here for years. We've shared both happy times, and solemn times remembering loved ones who have passed that we have all together shared times in this fabulous iconic San Francisco restaurant. Thank you for always giving us a wonderful memorable evening. 😊💖🍽️🍸
Great classic SF steakhouse. Great cuts of aged beef. One of our guests showed up late and we were not pressured at all by wait staff for "taking up a table." Great (and some very reasonable prices) wine list.
Harris's is always top class in every way, from the moment you enter and are received, right to the farewell at the end of the evening. The live music, never over powering but setting the tone for the enjoyment of your meal. The waiting service was friendly and helpful with the perfect knowledge of the menu. Steaks were cooked to perfection, the Porterhouse well worth every cent. Book a table in advance as this place is usually very much in demand.
If I have any complaints it is that I would love to have a smaller portion option. At 16oz for the standard cut prime rib that's th outer limits of my consumption. My lumberjack days are behind me.
Prime Rib was amazing and lent it self to great pictures. Only down side, meats were cook a grade up. I ordered medium well and got well done. My husband ordered medium rare and more of a medium (picture).
We we went to celebrate our anniversary. We have gone there a couple of times before. My wife had a salad with pecans and the fillet. I had a Manhattan and the prime rib. Everything was excellent. Josh S was our waiter. The one picky thing is that when the reservation was made I wrote that we would be celebrating our anniversary. I was able to catch the waiter and tell him. He brought a chocolate mousse dessert with a chocolate wafer that had happy anniversary written on it. We ordered the chocolate pudding tart for dessert, which was also excellent, and it also had the happy anniversary wafer.
The food was really good and we had enough to bring some meat and potatoes home.
It was a wonderful experience to celebrate a special occasion.
Always try to go back when in San Francisco. It's my 3rd visit to the restaurant and always enjoyed the food and dining experience. Excellent and consistent!!!
Excellent old school steakhouse. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Live jazz is nice addition. Drinks strong.
Dessert was fantastic! Server David was delightful, and my lamb chops were cooked perfectly!
Excellent food (good oysters/steaks). Great atmosphere. Poor service: They could not find the wine, and finally brought the wine 25- 30 minutes after they had served our steaks. So we ate cold steaks with the red wine.
Amazing service. Steak was perfect, just as we expected. Traditional steakhouse with SF history. We loved it all
Staff were exceptional. One of the best steaks my husband ever ordered.
We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Harris' Steakhouse. The food was delicious and the drinks, which were a recommendation, were also great. Our server was Lucy and she was fantastic. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the city. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Food was outstanding and so was the service. Our server Lucy was fabulous and very attentive. I would recommend it to anyone!
A truly outstanding experience. Along with being a top quality restaurant, we all commented about the "elbow room" that we felt we had. So many place try to pack the patrons in, Harris made for a very comfortable and roomy experience.
The service, food, and atmosphere were amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect dinner to celebrate our honeymoon.
Great food. Excellent steak. Very accommodating and attentive service
It was amazing, like always!!
Awesome service. The drinks weren't as good as had been recommended though.
Price-y, but u get ur $$'s worth. Excellent (!!) for that "special occassion". Great food, great service, and great, overall enjoyable fun night!!
ECW... (I'm a local...).
Harris is classic steakhouse, with large comfortable leather booths. The ambience was great and so was the service; I never had to wait for my water to be refilled. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the crab cakes were delicious. We will definitely return in the near future.
Good meat ! The service was professionell, but a bit too „played“
After several days of seafood during our vacation we were ready for some red meat. Harris’ did not disappoint. The steaks were cooked to perfection (and we are super picky). Husband had the scalloped potatoes and I had baked potato. Both were delicious. The ambience was relaxed and our server was just fabulous.
My husband and I had our wedding reception in the skylight room a few years ago, and have returned every year to celebrate our anniversary with my in-laws. This time we were seated in the library near the bar. Our server, Lucy was exceptional. She was very patient when we couldn't decide on drinks/entrees and even offered vegetable substitutes when we mentioned we were going to get an extra side of broccoli for my daughter. Food arrived promptly and was delicious per usual. We didn't feel rushed and the lovely jazz band playing in the bar was also a nice touch.
Can never go wrong at Harris’..... I my humble option, best Boneless NY Steak in SF.
Possibly the best steak I have ever eaten. Staff and management were very friendly and made us feel very welcomed
Choice of food was excellent and the wine list was staggeringly good
So far, best steakhouse in the world, including New York, London and Los Angeles to mention the other contenders. I would come to San Francisco for just this restaurant.
