Amazing experience. Great food, the best service I’ve experienced in SF.
Can’t wait to go again
Harris is my son’s favorite steakhouse. The food was spectacular! We enjoyed the tuna poke, fried scallops, steak tartare, oysters and Kobe style steaks. The wine our Sommelier suggested was fabulous and paired perfectly with our meal. Such a fabulous dining experience!
It was the best food I have ever had!! So good. It is a must have.
Great dinner. Steaks were wonderful and nice wine.
We celebrated a family birthday and we all had a delicious meal and drinks. The service was exceptional with Andy our waiter. There was nothing that was bad !!! A must place for a celebration.
The service was very attentive, the staff were all professional. Food though was more mixed. The French Onion soup had NO cheese, onions weren't caramelized, and just tasted like something you'd get in a cheap diner. Steaks were great, though overall VERY huge. It would be nice if they offered more choice on the small side, in the 8-10 oz range. Scalloped potatoes were terrific. Creamed spinach had waaay too much nutmeg. Desserts were mixed, with the Baked Alaska and cheesecake were lovely, Panna Cotta was meh. Corkage fee could be a little lower, say $25-30, $40 was a bit excessive.
This dining experience was amazing, from the friendly staff to the delicious amazing dinner.
There were musicians playing he piano and string instruments , performing classic dinner music.
I would highly recommend this place for the ambience , the excellent service and the great foods on the menu.
Great dinner on a special occasion. Well done Harris'.
My friend and I decided to have a blowout dinner and we thankfully chose Harris steak house. The hospitality, service, and ambiance are everything you would want for club-like dining. The clientele that evening was a mixed crowd and so there was nothing precious nor elitist about who was there to enjoy the experience.
We started with their special Manhattan cocktail that was served in an ice bucket for each carafe so we could leisurely enjoy our drink nicely chilled.
We shared a Caesar salad that was tangy and crisp with just the right savory taste.
We ordered a half bottle of Chateauneuf de Pape which went perfectly with our steak orders. My friend had the Steak Diane and I had the Harris' sirloin strip. Both were perfectly prepared along with potatoes and vegetable sides. I so appreciate that steaks come with sides rather than ordering a la carte for everything.
We finished with cheesecake and creme brulee, which was the perfect coda to the great culinary symphony we enjoyed.
The service was professional and everyone made us feel special. We agreed that the two and half hours we dined together was just the right way to "seize the day" and exalt in the affordable luxury of great dining with fellowship.
Delicious dinner. The old fashioned was not what I’m used to so that was the only disappointment. Overall, Andy was friendly and was excellent as our server. Food quality was delicious!
Fantastic food, wine, service and old timey environment and staff (in a good way)!
Make sure to order the baked potato with butter and sour cream. It was one of the highlights of our meal!
Our dining experience would have been much more enjoyable if our server was more attentive. Giving minimal customer service is not what Harris needs nor known for. If anything his crew (assistant/helper/runner) we’re much more adequate than the server himself.
The food and wine were excellent as usual. The service from out waiters was just super. Very attentive without hovering.
Excellent service and food was great!
The food and the service was amazing. The atmosphere was great also.
Harris is your classic old school steak house. They know what they are and they focus on doing it well. Steaks, traditional sides and appetizers, great cocktails and a large wine list.
Sommelier was great, very approachable with good recommendations and just a pleasure to speak with.
Fabulous from beginning to end. Definitely a high point in our family trip to the city. Can’t wait to enjoy it again someday soon!
This is our special occasion restaurant. Last night was the first time we have eaten out in 16 months and very much looking forward to it. We were not disappointed. The food was wonderful, and plentiful. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. They also serve great martinis.
Great food, amazing staff, live band, an amazing experience from the moment we entered til the moment we walked out.
Started with Oysters and shared a Cesar Salad. Followed with Delicious Ribeye Steak, baked Potato and Cream Spinach. Delicious! Great Cocktails and Open Wine list. My first time here but not my last, for sure!
We love Harris’. It is always an enjoyable experience. Last night however was a bit loud, so conversation was difficult.
That being said we will be back.
Great food as usual. Tried something different than the ribeye for once, and I really enjoyed the filet. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal.
Very enjoyable evening. Our appetizer very enjoyable. Main courses for our party excellent. Our waitperson Anthony, did a superior job from the time we were seated to the end of a terrific meal. Can’t wait to go back.
My wagyu steak that cost 99.00 was so tough I could barely cut with my knife , very disappointed , other then that , the food , and service was very good
Have a wonderful meal here. Good service.Amazing steaks. Nice upscale vibe.
I took my husband to Harris’ last night to celebrate his birthday. Harris’ is one of our favorite restaurants in SF to celebrate a special occasion. We had the crab cakes for a starter- amazing as always!! I had ordered the Filet mignon and lobster with the creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes. He had the bone in rib-eye with the scalloped potatos and vegetables. We also got a half Caesar and the mushrooms to split. Everything was incredible. The creamed spinach was not as good as I remembered it being last time but I had enough to keep me happy indeed! Our service was over the top. The only thing that slightly pinched me was the waiter commenting on how much I ordered. It’s 2021- women don’t need to hide the fact that we love food just as much as any man anymore lol. I am mostly kidding but I was a little embarrassed. The passion fruit creme brûlée was ok but I do prefer the classic twist on it over the fruity taste. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and gave us the history on Harris’ which we really appreciated. We frequent Coalingas Harris’ Ranch and there was some very interesting history on how SF Harris’ came about. We throughly loved hearing about the story of how it all became what it is and the waiter seemed sincerely excited to share it with us. The entire staff was extremely attentive. No drinks were left empty and no dirty plates were left for more than 30 seconds. Your entire staff shows an excellent sense of teamwork and I feel like they are all really trying to provide the best service possible. They succeeded! All in all we had an amazing experience and look forward to our next celebration here.
The skinny lady that loves to eat :)
It was wonderful, as usual, and it was fun seeing Michael again. Thanks for the delicious appetizers!!!
The prime rib was very bad
Fabulous as always and never a disappointment!!
Service was exceptional and the bone-in ribeye was as good as I’ve ever had. They did an outstanding job!
The food was excellent. The desserts however fell short.
The food was amazing here. I really enjoyed the lobster bisque soup and my filet. The vibe was intimate. The only negative was our waiter, as he was not very friendly and at times would not even respond to a “thank you”. I found the other staff/busboys more friendly.
Harris Restaurant has been my choice for dinning for many years, whether I dine alone or with my family and friends my experience is always fine.
Our first visit but not our last! Dry aged Harris’ steak was delicious so was the wet aged Filet. Service was astounding. Cocktails perfect and dessert was crazy. Baked Alaska?!?? Wow!
One of our very favorites in town. When sitting at a table in the bar area try not to sit in line with the door, drafty. They should have a curtained entry to avoid the drafts.
Birthday treat. Steak was cooked to perfection and loved the live music
The steak was correctly cooked, the sides were correctly prepared, and the wine and pre-dinner drink were a good value for San Francisco. It's worth sitting in the lounge to hear the band.
The Sommelier, Thomas, is terrific! The Prime Ribs big and tasty, and the sides delicious. Bartenders are friendly and the ambiance is great for sharing fun with friends.
