In our lounge we have live jazz nightly.
Although the lounge is available for more casual dining, we do have a dress code in the main dining room: please, no shorts, t-shirts or sportswear.

It’s was absolutely amazing, by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had.
Great experience and super service. Thank you for this memorable event.
Great food and service
Service, food, music, everything was so organized. I absolutely loved it
Baked potato with the works should incude bacon bits
NY Steak with g to the bone was not as good as before. I come every for the last 20 !
We’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and finally decided to come in. Beautiful decor. The hosts seemed confused and caught off guard when we said we had a reservation - took Them a moment to gather themselves and walk us to a tiny back room. As it was my partner’s birthday, we dressed up and expected the atmosphere to reflect the required dress code. It did not. We were seated near some very casual and very loud groups (“loud as in disruptive, not lively conversation). One group left a bit after we were seated and was nice and lively (chatty and laughing - but respectful without pre-teen children running around).
The wait staff was courteous and welcoming. Our waiter had a tendency to be elsewhere, as he would ask us our drink order, and confirm (incorrectly) as he was walking away from us. We tried to order a bottle of wine (wasn’t informed you need the code next to the bottle), and before I could recite it from the open menu, he was gone. Took him 30 minutes to take an order, as he kept walking away mid-sentence, then proceeded to omit/forget things.
Food was delicious, drinks were good (when received), and overall an ok experience. Don’t know if we’d rebook or not.
The food was delicious and the SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING! We had a great time and would definitely return. Thank you!
Outstanding food and service
Great trio. I went to see and hear the Susan Chen Trio. She wasn’t there but the replacement group lit the place up! Great food, great service and great tunes.
Always a favorite of mine! Service, atmosphere and food are consistently top notch. I have been dining there for the past 40 years and always look forward to coming with friends and family.
It’s my go to steakhouse in SF
"Old school" steak house with great quality steaks and excellent service.
The staff was very friendly! looking forward to returning one day soon!
The food was AMAZING! I’ve never had a steak quite like that. Portions weren’t huge and I love how they give you one piece of bread so you don’t over eat. Our waiter Damon was delightful. Would absolutely return
Excellent dinner on New Years Eve
New years eve
We go back and are never disappointed. Amazing food. Incredible service. Treat yourself!
Our visit to Harris's was outstanding. Our waiter Josh was fantastic. It was my grandson's 21st birthday and my daughter in law's 50th and he made sure we were treated royally. We had a before dinner drink in the bar and the bartender was great and friendly. The food was wonderful. All in all a memorable experience.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. We had buffalo, and filet mignon. Both were to perfection.
From the moment you walk into this gem of a restaurant, you feel welcomed. The service is excellent. I love everything about Harris.
Our server, Lucy, was a complete delight. She even went out of her way to find the perfect bourbon, so I could have my Manhattan, my way! She is a terrific server, mentioning each food...could have had them all. An asset to Harris’.
We went on the wrong day for our reservation and the staffs were very helpful and still accommodate our group of 6. The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. I’ll definitely return given the another opportunity. The steaks and vegetables were done exactly to our specifications. We had a nice meal and great time.
Great as usual. Classic old school restaurant that keeps the quality of food great.
I ordered the steak Diane. It was uninspired and at $50 I expected a lot more. Others at the table had a great experience, however there was none of that deep cognac and Demi glacé experience I expected. Might as well have been mushroom sauce. The service was impeccable as always however!
Good service with Jonathan at the bar and his attentive staff. Nice holiday evening and enjoyed perfectly cooked prime rib with scalloped potatoes. The wait staff recommended the poached pear for desert that was amazing :) Again, Harris never disappoints
The best wait staff I have experienced in a long time.
Holiday dinner - great food, amazing service! Ambiance was terrific. Will definitely go back there! Loved the old school vibe.
My husband and I were excited to try a new steakhouse while out in the city but sadly it was everything opposite of what he had hoped for. Our waitress had no knowledge of how different steaks were prepared and forgot to bring out my wine until I finally told her to cancel my order on the wine. Steaks were way over seasoned and wagu steak was not worth the money at all. To top off the experience, we had a very loud group of women in the room just a table away who were singing and being so loud we couldn’t even have a conversation. For the amount that we paid for our meals, I would’ve expected much better quality in everything.
Harris’ continues to prove itself to be the best steakhouse in S.F. The wait staff is extremely helpful and attentive, and the Executive Cut Prime Rib is worth it at any cost. A full dining experience will put a dent in the wallet, but it is always worth it. Can’t wait to go back.
Been here several times. Not a bargain, by any means, but the steaks measured up. Not tonight! American Wagyu Rib Eye was tough, chewy and not juicy. Management was generous in attempt to mollify us but the damage was done.
While it may be pricey, Harris' serves amazing steaks! We started our night off with fantastic cocktails in the bar while listening to jazz, and then made our way into the main dining room once our table was ready. The booth we had was cozy, and December is such a lovely time to go there--their Christmas decorations look wonderful! The crackers / cheesy spread, bread and butter, and the prawn cocktail was a tasty way to start our meal. We also enjoyed our sides of onion rings, creamed spinach, and sauteed mushrooms. I had the petite filet, prepared a perfect medium, and my husband the 49er (a NY strip), also prepared exactly to his liking. Both steaks were served with crispy snow peas / carrots and our choice of potato. We both chose the potato gratin and it was incredibly tasty! We payed $30 corkage and brought a fancy bottle of cabernet--I highly recommend you bring a high-end bottle with you if you like good wine but don't want to pay restaurant prices. Service was friendly and attentive. I would go back to Harris' in a heartbeat and highly recommend this establishment!
Although the food was very good as always, service was quite slow and it was very loud. We always love the Shirley Chen trio in the bar, but the noise there made it difficult to really enjoy the music.
Place is overbooked. A victim of there own success.
Steaks looked good but were poorly cooked. I was embarrassed to see 1/2 of steak well done and the other side rare. It was ordered medium rare.
Service was frantic.
I had guests in from Asia. Next time elsewhere we will done.
Tremendous experience which merited the price for a special occasion. Very accommodating staff for our special needs and table service team was personable and professional. Look forward to our next visit
Harris' is an old-school red leather banquette place. I've taken aunts and uncles there, and I go there for special occasions. The service is so amazing. Our table couldn't decide what to put in their martinis, so our waitress brought a plate of martini olives, onions, etc. The food is very very good. I go there to feel utterly pampered, a la 1962, like I'm Kim Novak in Vertigo. Love this place.
Superlative on every front -- from start to finish.
Had a better similar dinner at House of Prime Rib. For what you pay it’s not worth it. Asked for medium rare and meat was overcooked. Iceberg salad was a lump of mayonnaise passing for ranch. Very disappointed.
Excellent service, wonderful good, great atmosphere-Will dine here again.
