In our lounge we have live jazz nightly.
Although the lounge is available for more casual dining, we do have a dress code in the main dining room: please, no shorts, t-shirts or sportswear.

If you want to experience a high end stake house in SF this is not it.. you will spend the money like it was a high en restaurant but is not.
The food is just average.
Tons of better options .
Sometimes you need a nice, quiet, clubby place with great martinis and tasty food. Harris' delivers. And the service was impeccable. While any occasion is fine, I like meeting up with old friends here; it sets an appropriate tone.
This is simply the best classic restaurant in San Francisco.
This place is a classic. Unique old school dining room that is classy and intimate. Great food, great service. A little on the pricey side ($250 for 2 entrees: ribeye steak and lamb chops, 1 appetizer, 1 bottle of wine), but overall good value. Would recommend for a special occasion.
Service and food were awesome. The staff were so welcoming and we had a wonderful time. Hadn’t been there for several years and it still is one of the best restaurants in the city!
This was a wonderful dining experience. The food was superb as was the service. The staff was helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Sammy, the hostess, was friendly and offered great advice and pairings. The meal was incredibly well prepared and cooked to perfection.
This is a high end steak house with the price point to match.
The service was excellent, but my wife and I both ordered dry-aged cuts (Bone in NY and a 20 oz bone-in ribeye). We ordered both medium-well, our preference, and neither cut arrived as ordered.
I didn’t complain, but my wife had to send hers back twice.
When I cook at home, I get medium rare done correctly and don’t charge $80/cut
Crab cakes were great, as was smoked salmon appetizers.
But at $300, they set the standard and didn’t meet it.
Should’ve gone to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
I will not go again! my steak was so well done!
I have to say, the waiter was good!
simply put - the food wasnt good enough to warrant the price
Thank you again for another fabulous dinner! The prime rib cooked to perfection, onion rings and calamari to die for👍 And most of all the staff is top notch🥰
Typical high-end steakhouse. Good quality, service, and solid value.
Great food. The raspberry chocolate dessert was fantastic. We ordered A Filet and Snapper and both were solid.
Best of the best dining experiences of our lives. * stars
Great food, great service, great SF experience !
We had my fiancé's birthday dinner here and were so lucky to have AMY as our server! She was absolutely fantastic and probably the BEST server I have ever had. She was exceptionally knowledgable and friendly. Equipped with an appetite for professionalism and your experience doesn't get any better. Thank you Amy for making our weekend enjoyable and delicious. The food was divine. Melt in your mouth Diane Steak and the 49er's cut. Topped off with Amy's wine recommendation and delicious cheesecake, it was worth every bite.
Wonderful date night! We weren’t rushed, our server was phenomenal, and the food was to die for!!
Cannot wait to go back.
Arrived a little early for our reservation but got seated right away. Staff was very attentive but not intrusive and made sure we had a great experience. We got two types of bread, 1 little crisps with strawberry cream cheese and sour dough rolls with butter. Food arrived in good time and was cooked to perfection. After a week of fast food Harris' provided us with a wonderful evening of food, service, and great company.
We went to Harris for our son’s eleventh birthday. It’s one of his favorite restaurants. As we arrived, they saw my son who was wearing khaki shorts and said they have a dress code and can only seat us at the lounge. They sat the 4 of us on a dessert table. I went to speak with the manager, who was named Scott. Without any consideration or empathy, said that’s the best they can do. I was not even upset about seating us in the lounge, but asked how could they fit the entrees we wanted to order all on the small table. He offered to remove the bread plate for us. My son started to cry. I wanted to leave, but it’s my son’s birthday and that’s where he wanted to have dinner. During dinner, the server and the hostess came to apologize to us, which was very gracious of them.
After dinner, I went to speak to Scott. I wanted to let him know that his arrogance was unacceptable and that he ruined a little boy’s birthday dinner with his attitude. We as customers deserve cordial service. Again, I was not upset about the dress code, but the small table they had given us when they could’ve put a connecting table. He then replies to me that my behavior was inappropriate and the table next to me told him that. I couldn’t believe he had to lie about that as they were also apologetic for the attitude we had received from him about the removal of bread remark.
That just made me even more upset, especially that I was professional with my remarks in front of the children. As I was leaving, I had to tell him what a jerk he was and tell him that karma will meet him for treating people this way. He then told me not to come back. I swear that I have never been told that ever in my lifetime. And from a man that represents such a prestigious restaurant, I am truly appalled.
Unless this restaurant takes responsibility for this man’s atrocious behavior, I will do my due diligence to let everyone know of our experience tonight. He has put a definite impression on my young children.
First issue was my husband wanted a lobster tail with his steak. They didn’t have that and then when he got his steak he had to send it back because he wanted it medium well and it was still too pink. Both our steaks were really tough. The waiter did not give us any attention, he was very nonchalant. They never brushed the crumbs off the table until we were done with our meal. The best thing about the meal was the cheesecake. It was very disappointing to spend over $200 and not be a little satisfied. We came here all the way from Michigan and were looking forward to a excellent meal to remember while on vacation. 😔
We always have a wonderful meal at Harris’s. Favorite dishes include steak tartare, oysters, sweetbreads, Caesar salad, and the Harris Steak or peppercorn steak. This is the best steak in San Francisco.
Great old time S F steakhouse !!
John the waiter was one of the most warm and personal waiters I have encountered in the last five years. Request to be seated in his section. The Executive Prime rib melts in your mouth.
Beautiful steakhouse ambience. Wonderful buffalo rib eye. Only ding is they forgot to provide bread with dinner, had to ask for it.
Always love the place. The service is great because waiters and waitresses know what they are talking about. The traditional setting of the restaurant attracts me all the time.
This is the best steak house in San Francisco. Great ambiance, wonderful food and friendly professional service. It is a delightful enclave of traditional San Francisco elegance and style.
Excellent service, great wine list and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Need I say more?
Ownership change is reflected in the quality and presentation of the food: steak tartare no egg and not mixed table side, calamari were generic with a sweet goowy ginger sauce that does not belong in a steakhouse, harris steak was flavorless and overcooked, signature creme brulee now looks more like a tiramisu brulee gone wrong and the chocolate dessert was crusty and overcooked Been going there for 20 years but this might well be our last unfortunately
We had a wonderful meal with good friends. Best steak house in The City.
Harris' is "old San Francisco" in terms of its devotion to service and quality. The rooms are lovely and quiet, the menu straightforward, traditional and superb, the wine list extensive. A dinner for two with a good wine can run to $500 with tip, so for most folks this is a place for special celebrations or gatherings, not casual drop-in dining. It's a place we like to return to every now and then, and it is always lovely.
I'm crazy about Harris's now! This restaurant is an absolute gem and you can't get much more authentic than this. I went with a few friends for my birthday. We sat in the bar and piano lounge area, but the noise level was totally fine. I enjoyed the fact that they serve the entire dinner menu in the lounge. The service was great. Attentive without being over- bearing. I WI definitely be back for another special occasion!
Good food and drinks. Excellent wine list. Very engaging staff. The waiter went out of his way to split our order. After 25 years of visiting this restaurant I've never had a bad experience. Excellent food. One of the top quality steakhouses in the country, and service all together.
Fabulous! Professional and gracious service - elegant but relaxed - great cocktails - great wine list - awesome menu - steak tartare - Caesar salad - onion rings - sweetbreads - pepper steak with cream spinach and to die for potatoes
We were treated like royalty - favorite Sf restaurant
Steak Diane, never misses, tartar what can be said, cocktails too, it's all here.
Celebrated Father’s Day
Wonderful dinner; soup, crab cakes, prime rib. Fabulous combo band in the bar. A great surprise! Not too loud, just great music to listen to while having drinks waiting for our table. Will definitely go back.
It was a great experience. The food and service was great. My parents and I love steak, so we were really excited to try out this place and it did not disappoint. We’d definitely come back again.
Harris' has an expansive menu of of top-notch steaks, chops and other assorted specials. The bar makes quite possibly the finest Vodka martini in SF and, though we brought wine this particular evening, the extensive wine list is sure to have something for everyone. Our 20 oz. ribeye steaks were cooked to perfections, as were the delicious scalloped potatoes and seasonal vegetables that the entrees came with. Special call out to our server for the evening, Lisa, who made our experience all the more fun with her good humor and perfectly attentive service. We'll definitely be back...
