food was overcooked, and my crab cake was burnt on the bottom. Very disappointed for the priced we paid.
First week of opening restaurants back up at 25% capacity. We went out to celebrate Mother’s Day and it was fantastic. Very nice to get out of the house. The staff was very friendly and was taking every precaution to keep everyone safe. The entire experience was awesome!!
Restaurant was pretty neat. Lots of wood and decor. Two floors facing downtown
Menu was expansive. Lots of seafood. Excellent sushi appetizers. Or could be main meal. I actually liked the sushi the best.
We had six different entrées. Everybody enjoyed their entrée. Several had orzo, which was not my favorite.
But quality and quality and taste of seafood was excellent. Server was also excellent and a very good hostess. Had not been to this restaurant before. Didn’t even know it was there. Glad we went. Will be back! We found this on Open Table.
Harpoon Harry's is a great place for seafood. Our server was great and the. Food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone
The food was terrible. The calamari was completely bland. The Only person who had a good meal got the hot crab bowel. Everybody else was completely unhappy with the quality and flavor of their food. This is clearly a tourist trap relying on convention business. Thankfully we won’t have to return.
Had the Stone Crab pot $70 and it smelled and tasted like ammonia. That means it was at least 4 to 5 days old. It was so bad when the manager came to table he was able to smell the ammonia smell. Was compensated with a tuna roll since we did not have the time to wait for another meal. Decided to give it another try after the hockey game. Sat at the bar and ordered the cold stone crab and a beer. Bar was filled up after the game but it was not standing room. My beer was not served in a frosted mug like it was at dinner. Bartenders must be to lazy to do dishes. I could not figure out why they used plastic cup when we were there earlier the place was packed. Crab came and was giving crab crackers and a dinner fork to try and get the crab out of the shell. That work out well. Not really. The 2 bartenders look like the had no idea how to tend bar. The guy next to me waited 13 minutes before he was taken care of just to get a drink. He was not even greeted by a bartender say I will be right with you when they walked by multiple times.
Very quick place to grab a bite before a hockey game. The service was quick and food was good. I recommend the white truffle mac & cheese!
Our first trip to Harpoon Harry's and we enjoyed it! It was a little noisy outside, but the food was good and Deon is a great server! We will be back!
Four of us for a late lunch before the hockey game at Amalie Arena. Each of us enjoyed our meal, particularly how hot the meal was. And plates had been heated!
We had the Seafood Tower. The seafood was nothing special. The crab and lobster and crab salad were tasteless. There were only a couple of choices for wine.
Valentines... second visit here. The food and service is great however, the drinks are less than desirable. We had the same experience when the restaurant first opened. We were hoping the bartenders were better with time. Great food and service, just not a good place for drinks.
Overpriced. Poor service. It was not that great. I’ve had better at red lobster
Food was below average especially for the money. Service was ‘okay’ but could have been much better, our waiter was the bartender not a good situation, he did the best he could.
Dining area was dirty, main course came out before appetizers, the stone crab bowl was suppose to have andouille sausage- it did not, service was slow and haphazard. Menu items obviously were not prepared as per the menu descriptions. Poor wine list but beer was good. Guess it’s hard to mess up a beer, lol. Highly overrated restaurant. Will not go back.
HH had only 1 valet so that was a slow process. The server had at least 4 tables & 1 was an 8 top so she too was slow at taking care of us. We did not like the 3 different sushi rolls (we have eaten sushi multiple places). I’m not sure if it was the server or the kitchen but our requests for eliminating a couple of things off our foods did not happen. When we left there was an hr wait & multiple empty tables. I did see on occasion servers standing in the kitchen taking a break. As much as we eat out we will not be returning to HH.
The meal was one of the best I’ve had. Our server was wonderful and the atmosphere great. The only thing we were unhappy with was our cocktails. They were only half the size they should have been for the cost. Will definitely return the next time we are in Tampa.
First time there. Had the clam chowder, calamari appetizer, and large scallops. All were very good. Portions were very generous for the price.
We had appetizers and sushi rolls which were amazing. The salad my friend got could have fed the table. My only complaint was that the orders and apps came on several
plates which never got cleared off the table as new ones came out. I ended up making a big pile -BIG! We also had a waiter that kept leaving before we could order things. Drop and run...but I would go back. Just wish the service was a bit better.
Tourist trap, way overpriced, snippy hostess, no bathroom upstairs, food was just OK...same quality as Shells but 2.5x the price.
I wanted to love this place. The decor is cool and I love the layout. Unfortunately, the food was awful. The clam chowder was inedible and the house salad was just okay. Disappointing all around.
Large selection of Great food, great staff, great service. I will return to Harpoon Harry's when returning to the Tampa area.
Not really on the water as advertised but the food and service were awesome so we were glad we sent anyway.
Everything was great! Food was awesome! The waiter Jake Mulligan was great with us and made sure we were enjoying everything. Thank you! Definitely will be back here!
Service and food was out of this world! We’re coming back for Valentine’s Day!
Food was amazing and Taylor was too. We shared apps and a couple dinners, stuffed shrimp was my favorite!
The fish dip was excellent. Service was great as well. We went for a farewell lunch for a colleague and enjoyed the outing. I’d recommend the fish dip over the calamari. The truffle mac and cheese can be shared. I got that as my meal and an angry vegetarian sushi rolls...couldn’t stop eating all of it...very tasty and enough truffle mac to take home for two more small meals. Great lunch.
The food was great and the service was excellent.
Seafood was great. Service was better than good. Couldn't find server when we were ready to pay the bill though. Atmosphere was appropriate for a seafood house!
Great decor, the menu has many great choices, but we were disappointed with the service and the food execution. We were a table of six, and tried to keep things simple. The waitress was not attentive, requiring direction to refill glasses and bring tableware. The food looked and tasted great, but most of the seafood was overcooked, and the risotto and vegetables undercooked. The tools provided for the stone crab claws were not effective, causing us to use the knife handles to break them, ruining a pricey treat. The reception did not check us in with Open table, so it doesn't show we were there. Sigh, I hope it is growing pains, there is great potential here.
California rolls were fresh and yummy. We split calamari which was also perfectly prepared. My scallops were delicious. The service was a little slow.
Great stone crab!
Requested that the manager call me because my wife may have lost a diamond ring. I left my number but he didn’t call back. Bummer.
Way over priced. Had 4 chicken caesar salads and one glass wine. $88.really??
Terribly slow service and mediocre food. But it was close and the desserts were great.
New Years celebration was great!
Thought food was expensive for the food you got....good menu for fish eaters. Not so good for a non seafood eater.
Excellent customer service. Really enjoyed the fire roasted oysters.
Our service was horrible on New Years eve. The restaurant wasn't even busy, we ordered sushi first as an appetizer, then a few minutes we ordered our dinner, the sushi came out and before we could even try it our dinner came out. Instead of remaking our food which is what they should've done they went and put it under heat lamps. Absolutely horrible!!! My filet was over cooked and my wife fish and chips were soggy I'm guessing from sweating under a heat lamp with a lid on the food. Never in my dining experience have I had service like this. We will never visit establishment again!!!
Superior server. Food was great.
Pasta left under heat lamp, resulting in crunchy top & mushy bottom - no pesto in pasta as advertised
