Went for lunch during Restaurant Week. Quite a bargain for delicious mushroom soup with sautéed wild mushrooms and then seared striped bass. Dessert was a fabulous chocolate tart. Service was excellent.
I went to Harpers Garden for restaurant week. All of the choices were delicious. The cocktails are interesting and there's a decent wine selection. The best part is the restaurant decor, which is kind of a modern rustic.
We dined inside and it was pleasant although too loud. We had the 3-course special. The salad was very good. The fish was tasty but too salty. The canele was dry and difficult to cut and it was served with a spoon. (I have tasted good canele, so I have a comparison.) Overall, I think it is a good place for lunch if you are nearby. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there except possibly for the outdoor dining in spring.
Food was excellent from quality to presentation to taste. Because it was Restaurant Week, the value was great. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely come back
Got there when place was not even close to full yet it took over a half hour to get our 1st course (soup & salad). Other than slowness, our experience -- 1st time there -- was fine. Lovely spot, good food. When the place filled up it did get noisy. One other nit: the bench is too deep & far from the table & also too low for people my height.
The smoked salmon and waffles are so unexpected and SOOO good. It was a perfect amount of food and delicious. Will be back!
We had a lovely evening at Harper’s Garden... sat outside in January... amazing food (although the wines were not my favorite)... friendly waitress! Great all around... seemed kind of noisy inside, but we had perfect seating outdoors on a warm January night!
Bottomless mimosas are a great deal and Harpers Garden makes a fantastic omelet!!
Food was good. Consider larger plates so you can cut food and so it doesn't fall off plate! Drinks pricey. Our server, however, was absolutely lovely. She was the perfect combination of helpful and welcoming and friendly without being intrusive--she put a smile on our faces!
Service was excellent. Wooden seats/benches were kind of uncomfortable. French toast was nice and crispy. Somewhat disappointed at the brunch selections, I expected more breakfast stuff that didn't include eggs.
Enjoy delicious food, just do NOT order the coffee!!
Have never had worse coffee anywhere!!!!
But cute decor, great food....
Beautiful interior, cozy ambiance and DELICIOUS brunch! They have bottomless mimosas too!
A great brunch spot. Bottomless mimosas for $20 with entree... what’s better than that! And the service was on point
The brunch menu is somewhat limited but good. The wait staff is well versed in what is not possible (asking for a bloody Mary that was not flaming hot, just spicy). The overall experience was good to very good.
The meal was wonderful. The appetizer which was the braised pork cheek was delicious, tender and flavorful. We really enjoyed the Striped Bass and Roast Chicken. The side vegetable was a great pairing. The only concern was the bribe for the chicken was heavy on the salt . Aside from that it was great. The chicken was juicy and tender on the inside and crispy and beautiful color on the outside. The bass was well seasoned, the crispy skin was masterful. The Apple galette was good, but could use more apples and the should have removed the tart a minute early because it lightly burnt on the edges. Overall the meal was great. The drinks were great also. We will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. It was really outstanding. And I love that it is rotating menu. We will return in the spring for the new menu. Great job chef and house manager. Our waitress was wonderful. She did a great job.
W head a wonderful meal here. Service was great! Food was excellent! The atmosphere was amazing. Can’t wait to go back during the summer months to enjoy the outside
Our waiter was awesome and so was the food and drink.
Cool looking decoration and tasty food. We only ordered small plates and it was filling, and a nice way to taste a variety of dishes. Very enjoyable experience.
It was a good experience in every way. A true treasure. Can't wait to come again.
We had branch there. I ordered eggs with a side salad and it was a very simple dish, small portion. I didn't get any bread, nothing. My husband had a shakshuka flat bread and it was also a very small portion. I won't recommend a branch there.
First time here and I loved it. The best thing about Harper’s Garden is the ambiance. It’s absolutely beautiful. I love all the floral touches.
The food was really good. I had the trout and I loved it! It was perfect.
I would definitely recommend coming here at least once.
Low lighting, but the garden theme follows inside. Food choices were a little limited, but quite tasty. Some favs were the small plates - shared as apps - and drinks that were actually mocktails.
The food and ambiance were great! We had small plates which were all delicious. The craft beers were really good and they offer a nice selection. The only drawback was the noise level. I was eating with colleagues and it was really loud, but mainly because people were laughing and having a good time.
Great food and service
Brunch at harpers garden was amazing! Bottomless mimosas are well worth it and the food was spectacular. Stephen, our waiter, was attentive and did not push us to leave. Would recommend and go back!
Everything was excellent. I really enjoyed the whole experience.
The burgers were AMAZING- a must get!
Awesome! The food is great again! We love the atmosphere, fresh, local ingredients and delicious food. What really makes Harper's Garden stand out among the rest is the STAFF members! Every one, especially Jason and Joe, are AWESOME! They go above and beyond! I lost a piece an antique necklace I was wearing and I spoke to Joe who said he and the staff would look around. Not only did I receive a call back, they really looked, didn't find it but that's not the point, he invited us in to have a drink which really means so much!!!! It's a personal touch that you often do not experience in very many restaurants! We will be back and THANK YOU to Joe and Jason! You guys are THE BEST!!!!
Great place and I took my wife for her birthday brunch with our daughter followed by a show. We are all foodies and truly enjoyed the food. Decor is pleasing and service was on point.
Ambiance & service was great but the food was not very good or fulfilling. We weren’t impressed by the quality or taste and we left still hungry. However, the drinks were good.
Beautiful restaurant with awesome service. Would come back every time I visit my favorite city of Philadelphia
It was the most amazing dinner my boyfriend and I ever had. Came out so fast, so many things to choose from. The service (Morgan) was incredible, she was sweet and helpful. I got the Pork skillet and he got the lobster ravioli ... wow ... It melted in your mouth and was so bold but not overwhelming. Definitely coming back!
Food was outstanding! Great variety of small plates and breads!
The food was excellent...service was good, prices were fair. We were having a business meeting and it was a little noisy in there, but we survived.
Real espresso would hv made a major difference for me. The absence of « real coffee » is a deal breaker, especially on a weekend morning. I would hv appreciated being warned that the shakshuka offered in the menu would be such a radical departure from what I know to be a shakshuka. It wasn’t bad, it’s just that it wasn’t at all what I thought it was (from reading its name on the menu). A friendly warning (and our waiter was def very friendly) would hv been nice.
Drinks were great, service was very slow for a weekday lunch, and food was not good. The “flatbread” was served on a very thick and unappetizing dough that was the farthest thing from a flatbread I’ve seen.
Had a really nice brunch for table of six. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the food was a hit. Service was top shelf!
Food was excellent.
Food was delicious! Our young children were the only children in the restaurant at 6pm, but were treated wonderfully and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! The atmosphere was great and I would believe that outside dinner would be lovely!
great food, great service, great ambiance! The only downside is that it was uncomfortable cold inside the restaurant, despite the restaurant's high potential for coziness. Whatever they do December-February to keep the place warm, they need to do also in November...because if it's always that cold in there, I'm not sure I'd go back!
