Service was slow. Food was ok but portions were small. Cocktails were good
Underwhelming. Restaurant was empty on a Friday at 6 p.m. and it took a very long time to get our food. Pork Meatballs were the highlight. Everything else (pommes frittes, pork cheeks, french dip sandwich) were meh. Pretty interior, likely nicer to sit outside in the Spring - but go to the real garden - Talulah's Garden - for that experience :) Same pricing, better service.
Great food and ambiance. Kid friendly.
We were early for dinner time but as others came in, the noise level grew and was amplified and seemed to echo throughout the room. Otherwise, food was as advertised and service was acceptable.
We had a lovely brunch here this past weekend. We were seated immediately and thought the space was absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to come back sometime to just grab a drink at the bar or take advantage of the outside area! We each got something different (shakshuka flatbread, omelette, and smoked salmon/waffles) and enjoyed everything we had. The portion size was good for brunch--not too much that we were stuffed but not too little that we felt that we didn't get our money's worth. Service was quick and friendly, too.
Went to Haper's Garden for brunch. First time visiting and what I got was great food in a relaxing intimate setting. Not to mention amazing service from the moment we entered.
Unfortunately due to traffic we arrived late. We were seated right away and served quickly. My issues were few, but I want to let them know. Tables inside are a bit too close together. Ordered brunch and not offered toast for the over-easy eggs I got (steak & eggs) Due to close seating you could barely converse at a respectable level and hear everyone else's conversations
Good times and good eggs and good company
Delicious cocktails, great food. Wonderful for brunch.
Did a tasting for valentines and although the food was good it was nowhere near worth how expensive it ended up being.
I decided to stop in for lunch on a weekday. Kate was our bartender/server and she took great care of us. She made sure we had everything we needed and she was super pleasant and attentive. The manager, Joe, was very kind and polite and he checked on us to make sure we were having a good experience. With respect to the food, our dishes were delectable! The food was seasoned well and I really enjoyed the textual components of the dishes. Also, you could tell that the ingredients were super fresh. Would definitely recommend dining here!
Ambience was pretty- felt very squished against a wall with not much room. It’s very annoying to make a reservation 2 months in advance to be seated at a crappy table just because there are two of us. Omelette wasn’t warm. It was disappointing.
The food had moments of excellence (like the burrata appetizer), but it seemed like there was citrus in everything and all of the breads were a bit overtoasted (ie, char). It was also quite dark; many guests were reading the menu by the light of their phones. The space is small (and loud), but pretty. Our server was great...personable and knowledgeable.
Limited choices for non meat eaters.
The ambiance, service and decor was superb. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. We were there for restaurant week. My friend and I agreed to try them out for brunch in the future.
I went here for lunch for restaurant week and the meal and service were fabulous! The food was delicious and the food presentation was exquisite. Can't wait to go back!
Was seated right next to the front door with giant curtain blowing on me the entire meal. Bartender waited on us and made it clear he was angry that he had to wait tables in addition to bartending. Would go back for the great food, but will request alternate seat and server if I end up in that situation again.
Creative food in a beautiful setting! We came during Restaurant Week, so we got to sample 4 courses from the menu. We loved everything we tried, including an awesome "mocktail!" Service was amazing too! We'll definitely be back to try the outside garden in the spring :)
We went to Harper's during restaurant week because their menu looked really good. 4 courses, all of them, including dessert were exceptional as was the service!
Really delicious food served well during Restaurant Week.
Everything was great except something in my cheese plate was definitely expired. I brushed it off as it was a cheese plate and cheese is inherently old but it was not that. Something was off. Usually everything is spectacular here.
5 stars all around- service, food, ambiance.
Had lunch here during restaurant week - every dish was delicious and presented beautifully.
My best friend and I went for Center City Restaurant Week. Our reservation was at 7 and they got us in early (which was nice). I got the soup and felt it could’ve been hotter, but my besties salad was very good (Roaster Pear and Beet Salad). The second course was the tuna for me and the burrata for her. The tuna was delicious, but the wasabi had a weird texture. A garnish on the burrata had a strange flavor, but the burrata itself was very good. We both got the striped bass. It was very good. The last course was a ricotta pound cake with lemon thyme ice cream and a champagne soaked pear. This was delicious, but I wish the pound cake was softer. It seemed like it may have been taken out of the freezer and served.
Our server was very good, he kept our drinks full and kept our courses coming out in a timely manner. We both really enjoyed the look and decor of the place; although, it was difficult to see the menu at our table (lighting was too dim there).
Our Restaurant Week dinner at Harper's Garden was fantastic. The Roasted Pear and Beet Salad was a highlight for both my friend and I. The flavors for every dish were on point and melded well. The inside is super cute, and this would be the perfect spot for a date night.
As a first time participate at Harper’s Garden, I was truly impressed with the delicious food and great atmosphere.
Brunch!! It was fun! Lots of mimosas
Restaurant was "out" of top three picks for breakfast. Refused ability for any substitutions. Apathatic waitress. French toast was burnt. Incredibly disappointing experience.
Sat at the bar and hung out with Nic the bartender. The ambience was so perfect and the whole staff was so friendly! Good vibes all around! The cocktails are worth every penny. I would expect to spend at least $15 on a well made, well balanced cocktail, and this place does not disappoint for the price you pay. The food is so amazing that I didn’t even waste a second taking a picture. Highly recommend for a nice date or a night out with a friend.
My sister and I came here for brunch on a Saturday in the winter. Amazing atmosphere, incredible food and Grade A++ drinks. But the best part of our experience was our waitress Nikki. She was HILARIOUS and so attentive. We will absolutely be back!
We were there for restaurant week so the value was unbelievable. The only problem we had was the food did not come out hot. The mushroom soup, the stripped bass and the chicken were not hot. Each of those dishes would have had so much more flavor if served at the right temperature. Our friend who ordered the chicken took it home and said when he heated it the next day it was fantastic.
Restaurant week menu was totally off. Otherwise the food is good!
Went for lunch during Restaurant Week. Quite a bargain for delicious mushroom soup with sautéed wild mushrooms and then seared striped bass. Dessert was a fabulous chocolate tart. Service was excellent.
I went to Harpers Garden for restaurant week. All of the choices were delicious. The cocktails are interesting and there's a decent wine selection. The best part is the restaurant decor, which is kind of a modern rustic.
We dined inside and it was pleasant although too loud. We had the 3-course special. The salad was very good. The fish was tasty but too salty. The canele was dry and difficult to cut and it was served with a spoon. (I have tasted good canele, so I have a comparison.) Overall, I think it is a good place for lunch if you are nearby. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there except possibly for the outdoor dining in spring.
Food was excellent from quality to presentation to taste. Because it was Restaurant Week, the value was great. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely come back
Got there when place was not even close to full yet it took over a half hour to get our 1st course (soup & salad). Other than slowness, our experience -- 1st time there -- was fine. Lovely spot, good food. When the place filled up it did get noisy. One other nit: the bench is too deep & far from the table & also too low for people my height.
The smoked salmon and waffles are so unexpected and SOOO good. It was a perfect amount of food and delicious. Will be back!
We had a lovely evening at Harper’s Garden... sat outside in January... amazing food (although the wines were not my favorite)... friendly waitress! Great all around... seemed kind of noisy inside, but we had perfect seating outdoors on a warm January night!
Bottomless mimosas are a great deal and Harpers Garden makes a fantastic omelet!!
