In the completely renovated space located on Sansom Street between 15th and 16th streets, Harp & Crown will bring together old-world touches of charm and luxury with modern sensibility and functionality. Its glass-façade, 24-foot ceilings, and four chandeliers on the ground floor are glamorous pieces that will be balanced with funky vintage wallpaper and leather club chairs, millwork and natural tones throughout the ground floor. The result is a comfortably refined space to match Chef Justin Petruces' approach to cooking, which highlights seasonal ingredients and global cuisines. Guests may enjoy the delicate yet complex flavors of his new- American dishes amongst the space including a 32-seat bar. Delving further into the unused space within the building itself, guests will find a cocktail bar and two-lane, reservations-only bowling alley beneath the main room where cocktails, pizza and charcuterie will be served.

The only tables for two that this restaurant has are sofa-style, where guests have to sit side-by-side with a table protruding out from the sofa that goes directly between the two guests, making conversation and eye contact difficult. You have to turn your body such that you’re sitting half on the sofa & half off the sofa just to face your date. The sofa slid easily and we had to adjust it several times. The table was too small for the amount of food they recommend you order. I would excuse the sofa-style seating but the table was such that my date and I couldn’t hold hands (which presumably is the reason for same side seating) because there was a large metal bar between us. The theme of the restaurant was unclear and the menu not very vegan friendly. Overall a cool atmosphere, but not for dining.

The decor of this restaurant is quite stunning. I think it would be a lovely place to come for a drink but the food was a bit ordinary, in my opinion. Our choices included garlic prawns, a dish that was supposedly intended for sharing - so why do they give you 3 prawns to share between 2? Not really a big deal but the prawns were not fresh - they definitely had that nasty ammonia taste. The rest of the food was quite nice but nothing outstanding. I wouldn't bother going back.

Love this place. I drove from New Jersey just to check this out, the bowling is very expensive but the atmosphere is worth it. The staff was super friendky and the food was amazing. I will definetly come again.

No complaints. Pasta, lamb, artichokes were good; not overly creative or mind blowing but a meal I’d easily order again. Ambiance was suited for many occasions.

We went for my son’s college graduation. I’m from out of state so did not the area. Good location. Food was good and we had a very pleasant server. Two things that bothered me; They put us right next to the bat so the noise level was awful and we could not hear the other was we ordered two desserts. One came out but the other was so slow that we had finished the first. However I would come back because I did really like the food.

This place never disappoints! I wish the tables were a bit bigger when you are only with two people, so all the food can fit on it!

It's a lovely restaurant experience. They seem to like communal tables and seating, but there was nothing in the reservation process that showed this was the way people are handled. Fortunately, an understanding Maitre d' suggested the downstairs for more intimate dining. It was a great choice. Food, ambiance, and service were great.

I only rated the food 3/5 stars bc I went during brunch (on accident, I hadn’t realized certain hours meant brunch) and while it was a perfectly decent spread, buffet style just isn’t my thing. But the place is gorgeous and what I had did taste good, I would definitely like to return for dinner

Awesome meal. The tasting menu is totally worth it to try a bit of everything. Can’t pick one favorite, everything was good. Atmosphere was really awesome and the hidden basement bar was somewhere I’ll visit next time.

Harp and crown has gone way done unfortunately. Used to come here a lot for date nights and drinks with friends and always had great service and amazing food. Went there a few days ago with a reservation I had made the previous week for 8pm. We waited for over half and hour before our table was ready (why make a reservation if I have to wait that long?). That to me is unacceptable, I understand 5-15min but half an hour is too much. They barely apologized for the delay (I would expect them to offer us a drink on the house while we wait or something.) our waiter was very nice and seemed professional but drinks took a while, some of the food was cold, some was under seasoned or not tasty (hamachi was bland and steak was cold). Overall I would no longer recommend this place and unfortunately have to search for a new go-to restaurant. So sad they weren’t able to keep up the good service and food!

Overall, the food was fine but not really noteworthy. There are at least 30 restaurants in town with better food. The lamb meatballs *were* great, however. Our server was also super attentive as well. But what in the world is up with the tiny tables for two? It was like some sort of juggling/balancing act to handle small plates and drinks on what looked like a living-room end table on which we were both sitting on the same side. There are some nice aspects to this place -- the staff, for instance. But the seating/table arrangements are silly and annoying.

Went to Harp & Crown with a group of girls for a birthday dinner. We sat at a long table right when you walk in, It was lovely! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We each ordered something different and shared, didn’t have a single complaint. We got pizzas, roasted olives, asparagus salad, gnocchi, halibut, roasted cauliflower and more and loved all of it! Flavors and presentation were on point, so we’re the cocktails. We will be back!

The food here was amazing. The dining room is a bit dark, but it is probabaly just part of the hip vibe they are trying to give off. Despite the fact that there were people coming just to drink the food was certainly not an afterthought here!

Sunday Brunch... Well... the parking annoyed me... but that is certainly not the restaurants fault... we had a reservation and our table was ready almost immediately... the sofa’s where you sit and wait for your table are kinda nasty... should be cleaned more often... the decor is lovely... you may have to sit with strangers... which I am OK with but I had know idea that was possible... it should be noted somewhere... many people do NOT like that... the food and variety was very good... the buffet was relatively well maintained... but could use a little improvement... the buffet included unlimited food, coffee and juice... but tea was an extra... the server was nice and attentive... the busboy... picked up my empty plate that had my fruit salad and spilled the residual juices all down my shirt... it was an accident and did not stain... but he did not even bother to apologize... and yes... he knew he had done it... the food was well worth the $28 per person... I would go again... but by Subway... May try for dinner sometime in the future....

Moderately priced food. Lamb meatballs were recommended and they were pretty dang amazing and im not a huge lamb fan. The waiter also recommended the chocolate cake to us so I'd have to thank him for his awesome input.

Wife had the beet salad and margarita pizza and it was very refreshing. Wine by the glass i feel was a bit overpriced at $14 a glass but aside from that it was a very enjoyable evening.

It was a group of 7 friends. They sat us in a corner bench next to the bar and it was so loud you could literally only hear the person seated immediately next to you. Everyone in our group was highly disappointed in how loud it was. Only the person next to the waiter could hear the waiter so we would have to pass down the information...which was very frustrating. The prices are high for the kind of food and the bar prices are pretty steep. We did the chefs menu which was great! Highly suggest the chef's menu. The noise level really did take away from the experience. No one in the group said they would come back, even though everyone loved their food! I'm sure the ambiance is so much better if you aren't seated where we were at.

This place was so perfect! The decor inside was amazingly beautiful and so romantic. Our waiter told us the background on the building and its design by the owner's wife. Stumbled upon this place and couldn't believe I found such a gem! 10/10!

My boyfriend & I went for brunch. The space is beautiful, with tall ceilings that makes it feel like you’re not in center city Philly. We were one of the first tables and we were able to get to everything at the buffet very easily. I read a review that said to get the creme brûlée grapefruit, and I’m so glad I did! The prime rib was delicious, waffles with fried chicken bites and sausage gravy was perfect and there were even some more lunch options like cheese & meats and pasta salads. Our server was really nice and attentive. Every time we came back to the table we found our plates cleaned away too. I think this would be a great place to bring a group of people and it was nice for a brunch date.

What a wonderful find in Philly! I liked it so much that I came here to meet up with friends twice for dinner during my 6 day business trip. The Cornish hen, halibut, and appetizers were delicious and done properly. Their cocktail game is strong! The interior is so beautiful and they even have a speakeasy like basement (and a bowling lane) for a different vibe. Our servers were attentive and lovely. Definitely will return if I visit Philly again.

Food, ambiance (decor), and service are outstanding. Its a good value, just wish it was a little cheaper especially for children. If it were I would probably put up with downtown parking to bring my family once a month. For an adult group of friends it is a must do, but you better be ready to eat a lot to make it worth it.

Third time here for brunch. Reasonably priced for a downtown,Center City Philadelphia restaurant. Lots of options. Good cocktail menu. Food choices are very extensive - from seafood, to make your own doughnut, to prime rib. Try the creme brûlée grapefruit. Very accommodating. Had asked for a booth which are reserved for parties of 3 or more still was able to be seated at booth even though one of our party cancelled. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Enjoy having brunch here since you are not rushed and are in fact encouraged to take advantage of all that the buffet has to offer.

Sunday brunch is a true gem. Artfully displayed and great assortment.
Who can say no to a donut bar ?
From host staff and waitress, all were welcoming.
The interior is aw inspiring but I believe during colder months that the front smaller tables will be located in a cold area due in part because of the door area. I also noted that the smaller tables for two located near the bar area are positioned in such a way that you would be eating at a strange angle, perhaps good for drinks but not good for enjoying a brunch.
Will be returning as they set the tune for a great start to a Sunday.
