Harp & Crown
Solid overall experience, great specialty cocktails and the service and food are spectacular. Coming from NYC I was blown away !!
Great service! Delicious food! Fun atmosphere! Would definitely go back again!
The experience was just meh. The menu options were not many. Apparently they changed it 3 weeks before we visited. Appetizer (lamb meatballs) was good. Our entrees were just okay, again, due to the limited options.
Excellent food and excellent service
Great ambience but noisy. Our waiter was the best ever. Food was good, menu kind of strange. A lot of fun.
The restaurant is too dark, too loud and the waiter had a lot of attitude. Not good for a business dinner.
Great food and service. Beautiful atmosphere
FABULOUS brunch - everything a great brunch should be. We’re going to make this a regular family brunch place.
Fun place- great atmosphere and the drinks were great.
We did the tasting menu it was pretty cool. But we were seated next to the door where there was a constant draft. We wore our costs the whole meal.
Harp & Crown is very aesthetically pleasing, and Ben the bartender was awesome while we waited for our table to be ready. The cocktails were the best part of the evening by far!
We were sadly seated at the "couch" seating where there was a very small floating table with a metal bar between the two of us. We could not stretch out our legs even a little as people would trip on us, and the table was not big enough for the plates. We ordered the heirloom beet salad, seared tuna, lamb meatballs, seared scallops, short rib, chocolate cake, a port and some caffeine. Food was good, but it came out almost at once and we were rushed.
Food was great tasting, but overall the meal was not worth the price. We wish we stayed at the bar and ate with Ben.
Darien was so sweet, & informative. The food was amazing. We did the tasting, well worth it. Great ambiance & service!!
Everything was top notched. The ambiance is excellent for a date. A bit noisy but still can hold a conversation without yelling. The menu was a bit limited but the food was delicious. We were able to park in a lot about 2 blocks away for $10 for 12 hours. Street parking was impossible due to St Patrick's day party goers that filled just about every corner of Philly. Highly recommended!
This was my 5th time at Harp and Crown. The occasion was to invite some friends to check out the experience,,, and they loved it. Also the food value and selection is perfect.
We were extremely dissatisfied with our service. I have been to brunch many times at this location and brought two friends to try for the first time. Our servers were extremely rude, they rarely came to our table and they left my friend waiting for a mimosa for over 25 minutes. We had to make a complaint and the server blamed us.
I felt embarrassed and disrespected and will not be returning to this establishment.
AMAZING. Great time with friends and great brunch buffet.
We loved it will be back food was great very cozy service was great
I was with 3 other ladies and we had a lovely meal. I liked the booth table, and our waiter was great. The other wait staff kept clearing things all night, which was really nice. They seem to work together. The Ruby Slipper drink was good, but much smaller than it appeared in all of the review photos I saw. The fig pizza was great, but my favorite was the short rib. I just wish it was a lot bigger. We shared a couple other things as well. The cheese appetizer dish with almonds and blueberries was a great starter. WARNING: this place is hard to find as I did not see any sign with their name on it out front, just a large, black, fabric entry box. Perhaps this is only during winter? Anyway - go - it's great!
Nice place to meet friend after work and have some drink and laugh.
A little too dark and a tad bit loud, but great setting and deco!
Everything was great-my only suggestion is they should purchase a few more high chairs. They only have one and we could have used one during brunch.
I have went to this restaurant for dinner in past and enjoyed the food. This time we did the brunch which was excellent. Everything was fresh and so enjoyable. Would definitely go back.
Hands down Amazing Service!! Our waiter was the best. And food was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! So thankful we could take home our leftovers. Would definitely give this a 10* rating all together! Can’t wait to go back!!
Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks! Will definitely go back again!
The food and drinks were delicious. The octopus small plate was amazing. The restaurant is noisy so don’t recomendnfor a quiet night but it was super fun for a group of my friends and myself. Bartenders weren’t the quickest but it wasn’t too bad. Waiter was very nice.
The overall experience was good. We were extremely disappointed that when they went to seat us, the table was probably one of the worst tables in the restaurant (located right in the pathway of an exit).
I had called prior to that date at least 2 times and emphasized that we were celebrating a 1st anniversary and would like a nice table. Both times they assured me that they noted this on my reservation. Obviously there was no follow through whatsoever with those special requests.
I had to get a manager involved to get us another table.
What a disappointment! Lovely atmosphere but food was terrible. They pushed back when we said we wanted to order appetizers first giving us the “chef prefers whole orders” speech. When we got our appetizers and ordered entrees they came in three minutes! The server stood there staring at us even though we were not even halfway through our appetizers and there was no room on the table for entrees. When we complained they told us they have a “free flowing” kitchen policy. Absolutely no pacing...rush you in and out. Food is not good...over seasoned and just mediocre at best. My husbands pasta was a congealed lump. Terrible...will not be back.
Amazing brunch! Great buffet, tasty food, good variety. Really good value! Loved it.
Fantastic spread, food quality is excellent, plenty of space.
Incredible. Will be back
Love Harp&Crown! However A friend and I went for drinks and dessert at 1030 at night. When we sat down and told the hostess this, she told us the tables are for full-dinner service only and we were welcome to go to the bar. Meanwhile there were many 2& 4-person tables empty in the restaurant. Not many people getting dinner at 10:30 at night!! She had to “ask the waiter” if he was ok with this...crazy! The dessert was just OK. The waiter was taken care of generously with a 30% tip but I felt that she really didn’t think through getting the restaurant and waiter business vs. no one sitting there at all.
A very spacious restaurant that's dimly lit. You may want to bring a small flashlight so your able to see the menu. The noise level was moderate which is the best you can expect on a Friday night in Center City. The service was above average as we were promptly seated to a nice booth at our reservation time. The menu has a nice selection. I try and stay away from glorified burger joints. There are too many of those in the city. This is not one of them. I ordered the Garlic Prawns, Braised Short Ribs, and the Berkshire Pork Belly. The Pork Belly was a little chewy but everything else was good. The plates are small which is why I ordered so much. If I had to do it all over again, I would have ordered the Bone-In NY Strip for two and shared it with my friends. They have a nice selection of desserts as well. I got the Pineapple Upside down Cake which is something you don't see on many menus. I started my night with a Grey Goose Martini which was made to perfection. When I start my night with a great drink, it sets the tone for the whole night. They have a nice selection of red and white wines along with nine or ten beers on draft. An overall pleasant experience. A nice place to go with friends but not intimate enough for a date. I would go back, maybe during the week and get that NY-Strip.
I was on a lesbian date for intl women’s day and it was nice. Thanks.
Sat us at the worst table in the restaurant. Basically sat next to the front door with 35 degree air coming in.
We were seated in a timely manner. However, our circular table was too large for the 4 of us. It was tough to hold a conversation because of that. We were told we’d have to wait until 8pm to change tables. It was 6:45.
Our party of 4 chose the Tasting, and chose the Chefs selection. Out of 7 courses, we were given NO MEAT. The portions were small, and besides the Hamichi, we were very unimpressed with the selection the Chef sent us. One person in our party also had a dairy restriction and we were told the Beets were dairy free, but in fact, they weren’t.
We were also rushed our check after finishing our tasting. We were only there for an hour and a half, but we’re rished out of Harp and Crown.
All of the food was delicious, except my fiancee didn't care for the fried chicken. We sat at a lovely table, and i love the ambiance.
I brought some girlfriends here when we came from out of town to see the Philly sights. They loved it. Crowded with a lot of buzz on a weeknight, surprising for us small town girls
Great service and suggestions
