Harp & Crown
We are now offering a Brunch Buffet on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10:30am with our last seating at 2:00pm.
Absolutely fantastic dinner with my wife. The food and ambience were excellent.
Server was the only drawback. He was immediately disinterested in us when we placed a small order. (My wife and I swear he rolled his eyes when we said “no, that’s it for now”). Our water/soda emptied and wasn’t filled, while the tables on either side of us received much more attention. Who knows, maybe he was just having an off-night.
Still, the food was so outstanding that we’ll ignore that, and certainly return.
Fabulous brunch buffet. Extensive selections and hospitable staff.
Best service I have experienced in a long time! The entire staff does their best to take care of you from the minute you enter the restaurant until you walk out the door. Let's not forget the consummate restroom attendant either. The dishes are tasty and portion sizes are just right that you don't leave feeling overstuffed. We shared an app and 2 pasta dishes and had room for for dessert as well and did plenty of sharing. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return!
Food and service were incredible! Excellent cocktails and great vibe.
We came here as a party of 10 on a Saturday night and everything from the service to the food was excellent. The fried okra was amazing! Drinks were great and loved the decor. Will definitely come back.
Great food and drinks.
Harp & Crowne is easy to walk by as the front of the restaurant is unassuming ... but open the door and what a surprise. The interior space is very unitque with 2 story ceilings and what appears to be authentic design features. Several different spaces for seating and a very large and attractive bar. Menu is designed for sharing and everything we had was outstanding. The beet salad was very generous and the tuna appetizer was spectacular flavors. The octopus was good and an interesting preparation and the scallops were excellent. Will go back.
One of my favorite spots in Center City. Has a great swanky vibe, great cocktails, happy hour is an awesome value, and the food is spectacular.
I've lived in Philly for 8 years. This is my new favorite restaurant. The speakeasy downstairs was awesome too!
The brunch buffet is amazing! So many choices and everything is delicious. My son loved the make-your-own donut! They have everything from an omelette station to carved roast beef to charcuterie to fun desserts and everything in between. It's perfect for a birthday brunch celebration.
My wife and I were there for our wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was outstanding. The only negative was the side-by-side seating. The Hostess did offer regular seating; however, it was in the lower level. Overall, we enjoyed our evening at the Harp & Crown.
An absolutely stunning venue with delicious food, albeit pricey!
Very gorgeous inside with the mood lighting and plants, but also very dark. Good for small parties to split food and sip on amazing drinks. Downstairs is another speak easy (bar) and 2 bowling lanes ($100/hr).
Four of us enjoyed a varied and excellent meal. In particular, the fried chicken was the best I have tasted in a long time, and the octopus (which I'd had on a previous visit) was beautifully prepared. Altogether the place is a very good combination of sufficiently elegant and pleasantly unstuffy.
Amazing food and service as always! Ordered a dish with an ingredient I’m allergic to that wasn’t listed on the menu. They immediately took it back, apologized and offered another dish and cake on the house. Love it there always!
Very interesting place and the food was very tasty !!
Amazing brunch. I liked EVERYTHING from the buffet and loved the decor. Would recommend to everyone.
Such a wonderful meal and a great vibe. All of the food and drinks we had were amazing. Our table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived, so we were shown to the downstairs bar, which I loved. Unfortunately, once seated, our server left much to be desired. He offered no suggestions and seemed to be inconvenienced by any questions we had about the menu. The couple seated next to us instead leaned over and told us what items they had liked the best. When checking my statement later, I realized that I was charged $30 more than what my receipt in the restaurant had shown.
We had the chef's choice where we could choose 7 plates and all of them were so good! It was definitely worth the price. I love how the menu changes every season and the list of drinks. I would definitely come back for other special occasions.
We liked the food and service. Chairs for two were not so good and should be upgraded.
Good food, very fun atmosphere, incredible service (ask for Jonathon.). Had the octopus, burrata and scallops. The tomatoes with the burrata were incredible. The octopus and scallops were OK. Our server was the best. Very helpful and informative about the area. Their side-by-side seating was romantic and cozy, if you are thin and flexible. Being in my forties, it wasn't the most comfortable. There were a lot of younger people having a great time at the bar which made fun for people watching. Overall good experience but we won't be going back soon.
The experience was okay overall. It was disappointing to make a reservation in advance and be seated in this space that felt like the porch and not the main restaurant. The lamb meatballs were fantastic, the banana cake was amazing, but the pizza was not particularly flavorful. I gave the rest of mine away. Not particularly diverse in staffing. For a vintage 1920's to 1940's feel it was awkward and very noticeable that staff of color or darker skinned staff were relegated to serving food or busing the tables while White or very light skinned staffed hosted, waited tables, etc. Some things about that era were great, other things wren't and that staff dynamic was just too reminiscent of the things that were not. In no rush to return and haven't recommended the restaurant to anyone.
This place is amazing - great service matched by fantastic and fresh food !
The food was delicious, our sitting arrangements were very romantic, the staff was great. My Favorite drink was Field & Fjords. Try it.
Delicious meal - from drinks to dessert. Great experience.
Terrible service overshadowed excellent food. The service in this restaurant fell well below sub par. Treated as though we were an inconvenience at all times by waitress & hostess potentially both having a rather bad day. Despite clearly booking this as a celebration we were expected to squidge up with other diners and rather roundly ignored. We had been led to believe by the website that there was an option to purchase bottomless mimosas. This was not offered. Instead $6 bought us a tiny rather acidic coupe of mimosa. Several drink options were also at an additional charge. We were also led to believe there was a dress code by the website - seemingly not the case given the micro ripped shorts and joggers-sneaker combos being sported by people who appeared to have just rolled over to the bar. Sadly despite the food being of a really high standard I could not in all consciousness recommend this restaurant to people who enjoy dining out. Sadly letting the staff know our experience before leaving did not appear to yield any concern leading us to assume this is a regular complaint.
Best restaurant in the city. Decor, drinks, environment, and service are all top notch.
Best service we have had in a very long time!
My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner! So good. We’ll definitely be back!!
Beautiful space, great food. We loved it. We had a great booth and very good service.
Mixed drinks and beer took 15 minutes to reach the table and bottle of wine took 20 minutes. This was the initial drink order upon being seated. Too long
The food & service were excellent but the noise level was very high and then around 8, the music was made even louder. My decibel meter soared to 100. Don’t expect to leave this otherwise amazing place without a huge headache
The space is interesting, the service lovely, and they’ve an absolutely approachable menu. I can understand why it’s recommended so highly.
The service was the high point of our visit. The food was expensive for the quality and size, nothing blew me away by any means. Portions are very small. Ambience is nice, the building is gorgeous. We were first seated at an awkward couch side by side, with a table between us, and requested to be moved.
Love the atmosphere here! And, the cocktails are excellent - the food too was really yummy! We loved the cauliflower, mac & cheese and scallops. The steak apparently was excellent too! Our waiter was okay - kind of disappointing compared to a lot of the wait staff at other Philly restaurants but nothing to really complain too much about!
I have been to Harp and Crown a few times and really enjoy the atmosphere and food. I, however, was extremely disappointed with having to wait an extremely long time to a table with having made a reservation. This is the second time I had a reservation and waited more than 45 minutes to be seated. We received a free round of champagne but this was not offered until almost 45 minutes after waiting. I wouldn’t have been so upset if it was the 1st time but this was my second experience with an unacceptable waiting time with a reservation.
Great food. Great service. TERRIBLE seating situation. Very uncomfortable. And very loud--I wish the bar was separated from the dining area more.
Excellent brunch with many choices and great service. Bloody Mary was fresh and spicy!
Amazing! Food was great.
