Harp & Crown
We waited 35 min for our reservation
Our server was the best!! Everyone was extremely helpful, and the food was delicious!
The most beautiful brunch experience and great value.
So amazing. Loved everything. We got the chefs tasting menu and let them pick for us. The food and drinks were amazing loved it so much.
Bartender, Jose, was AWESOME! He knew the menu inside & out, Really made us feel welcomed. Wait staff made us feel like VIP’s. We did the tasting and the food was crazy good!! Spinach pasta with lobster is a must try.
This was my second time for brunch. Food and ambiance are great however we had to wait to be seated 30 minutes past my reservation. This happened both times I have been here and is discouraging.
Had a fantastic brunch AT HARP AND CROWN with a friend visiting from NYC . Both her and I loved the ambiance and the brunch buffet had a lot of good stuff to pick from !!! I would highly recommend their brunch 👍🏽
It was a little cold but everything else was great
Fun atmosphere and nice bar and lounge area. The 2 top tables are very tiny. Very fun overall!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The place never disappoints. The soppressata is the absolute best I have ever had. I will be back.
The food portions are extremely small for the value, we had a better experience during restaurant week compared to the regular menu this time. I will say this has become a new go to spot for drinks. They are outstanding and we love the downstairs bar & bowling alley, such a cool vibe. The bartenders are great.
Incredible attention to detail & service! The food & cocktails were off the charts & they had the most sensual chocolate ganache cake that certainly made you want to go home & spread some Valentine’s love 💕!!
Best dinner I’ve ever had! Amazing server and such a beautiful restaurant
I was in town for business so I decided to try this place out because the reviews were pretty good and the pictures looked great. The food was at best average. The Caesar salad had cores in it and little dressing. The ink squid pasta lacked salt. The Assam drink was good. The service was adequate. There are so many places in Philly to eat, skip this one.
The service is mediocre at best, efficient but not friendly. Two visits and with advance reservations limited uncomfortable seating available upon arrival. With varied seating, like some others, they should allow you to book specific seating types online. Too many better places in town, will not return. It is a shame, their food in terrific!
We had a table on the benches on the side of the restaurant. It was a bit uncomfortable being so close to another party on the bench seats. We had a tasting menu which was $45.00 pp. It was worth it. Good value. Portions we're fairly large and it includes dessert
Almost thought it was going to be a bust... hostess was super cold, not someone who i would want greeting guests in my restaurant ... . Bartender took to long to acknowledge . Server was fantastic very knowledgeable and explained everything so well.
Food was great!
We enjoyed the food and beverages very much and were having a very nice time. However, our waiter was not the best. He started out ok. Then, throughout the meal, after he dropped a pizza on our table and drinks and did nothing to make up for that, was not very present. We had to as other servers numerous times to get him so we can order more drinks. When it came time for paying the bill, he commented that we could only have 4 cards. There were 6 of us, but we settled on the 4 cards. Then he says each card had to be the same amount. We said no to that since we did not all drink the same amount (we did do the tasting menu). Lastly, when he brought the receipts back to be signed, we said thank you and he did not say a word - just walked away. I'm not sure how much my friends tipped, but I know I only tipped 10% and now I am thinking that was too much. I have been to Harp & Crown many times before, however, I think after this experience, I will take a bit of a break. I hope that your management deals with that server - Richard I believe.
I'm not sure if it was an off night or what, but my friend and I were recently in on a Sunday and were super disappointed. She said it was a definite departure from the last time she was there. We did the 7 course tasting and every dish felt like it was underseasoned and over cooked. Service was spotty as our waitress took 20 min to take our order and the restaurant was empty. Was really excited to try this place and to come back for their brunch, but now I'm not so sure. Definitely not what I would expect from a Schulson restaurant.
Our brunch was delicious- four adults, one young teen, one child- all enjoyed it! Atmosphere and decor were lovely!!!!!! Only slight negative was that there seemed to be a change in servers at some point and some confusion about our bill that was awkward- but I definitely plan on dining there again!
We sat at one of the “date booths” which might have been nice if I were taller - but at 5 feet 2 inches, my feet didn’t touch the ground and I was extremely uncomfortable. The food was not as good as it has been on previous occasions. Service was spotty - we had to keep hunting down our waitress. Drinks took forever. I have eaten here before (at a table), and enjoyed it. Don’t know if this was an off night, but I was very unimpressed and wished I had made a reservation elsewhere (it was my husband’s birthday).
Seating was very uncomfortable in side-by-side tables. Staff and customers constantly walk by and bump into your table and your legs. Instead of focusing on your date and the meal for the evening you are forced to watch everything else around you. Tables are way too small for how the chef recommends the food to come out when it’s ready. Took away from the experience and by the time it ended, my back was in such pain!
This is an expensive restaurant and one should expect more. Host staff is indifferent and mechanical. Bar staff is aloof and arrogant. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgable. On a cold night, do not sit in the front of the restaurant, as it is freezing with the door opening and closing. Food was good but not worth the money. No visits from managers or any one else. Felt like they are all about the profit and not providing a great experience
This brunch is a MUST! $28 for buffet style with plenty of breakfast and lunch options! $6 bloody marys, mimosas, and bellinis. On top of that the staff is very friendly and attentive. Can't beat the decor either!
Excellent customer service. Management went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We will definitely be back!
Brunch buffet was legit. Didn’t love that we couldn’t sit until our entire party was present but I get why it’s a policy. Also the buffet was a bit crowded at certain times but other than that this was an awesome spot to eat. Would definitely go back!
Sat at the bar just after happy hour ended. The bartender was extremely friendly, recommended some draughts that he gave me samples of first. We were then given drinks by Nikki, and it was her first day and couldn’t even tell. She was phenomenal! Can’t wait to come back and visit!
The ambiance was great, but the food and drinks were extremely overpriced considering the quality. We got $15 dry Mac and cheese and would not recommend it to anyone.
As far as tapas go, it doesn’t get better than Harp and Crown in the city! The food is absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect. Only critique would be that the servers could be little nicer. Overall though would highly recommend.
Great service and excellent food. I’m not a fan of the two person park style seating- as such we asked to be moved to sit across from one another in the front area of the restaurant. We appreciated the accommodating nature of the staff. Top notch experience as always at Harp & Crown.
Service was behind so we were seated a half hour after our reservation time (9pm) and our waiter was disengaged (didn’t introduce himself, give recommendations, etc.) The food was excellent as usual, but it was very loud and crowded and we were seated by the bar so people kept bumping into us.
Food was amazing. Be prepared for large crowds and high noise level. We sat by the door which was a little chilly in February as crowds of people are continually going in and out the door. Waitress was wonderful and drinks were quite unique and delicious.
Beautiful restaurant. Waitress was very attentive. Food was excellent. Made a reservation but seating was disappointing at first. Originally they wanted to seat us in the garden section which was directly next to the door and it was 20 degrees outside. We were accommodated with another table unfortunately it was down draft of the door but it was still better. I just felt if you are making reservations seating should be a bit more special. All was good! The dinner and the was a wonderful experience.
Place was too crowded. The table we were initially seated at was very awkward (kind of a bench with a side table with people bumping into you). We had to ask for another table, which was shared with another group. Food/drink is overpriced. Menu is kind of boring.
Seated in garden area and it was cold enough to see your breath. Restaurant needs to invest in a heating system for the vestibule area. Server was fine. Front desk staff was pretentious. Didn’t make you feel particularly welcome
Had a little problem with hostess but manager fixed it.
This was fun! Loved the vibe and the food was solid.
Nice vibe, soft-lit restaurant with antiques, mismatched chairs, soft leather couches. Very warm and cozy. Quite a large restaurant, apparently there is a speakeasy in the basement.
Moderately sized menu but plenty of choices - a few salads, small plates, entree pizzas/pastas/meat and fish. I ordered salmon with sunchoke purée and roasted beets. It was fantastic! We also had roasted olives to start with fennel and red pepper. Very nice.
Unfortunately, first impressions and food experience was marred by gruff service. Our server seemed irritated by everything we asked: what kind of Pinot Noir was being served (I had no wine list); could we order bread (“we don’t offer a bread service”); could we have butter or oil with the bread you just brought. This was unfortunate. I know servers vary but I will hesitate to go back as a result. There are so many good restaurant choices right in the same block.
First time there. Food was fantastic as was service. If you like small plates and variety this is for you.
