Harlow's - Art of Life
Came on a quiet night where not many people were dining because of the circumstances. Normally I like a quiet restaurant, but I'd love to come back when things are back to normal and there is a nice crowd having a good time! ;)
Food is wonderful. It’s our favorite place to eat locally.
Fabulous new restaurant with cool 40’s vibe.
Exquisitely crafted vintage and modern cocktails. We had bison empanadas to start followed by the chicken schnitzel and elk meatloaf. Comfort food with a modern twist, beautifully plated, with generous portions. Loved the whole evening from start to finish and can’t wait to try everything on the menu. Bravo Harlow’s!
Our server Sydney was great! The food was delicious. Love Harlow’s!
Harlow’s is kind of my dream restaurant. It’s quirky, it’s cool, it’s on a beautiful lot overlooking wild growth in Bonsall which makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere even though it’s right off the highway. The food is excellent and the mixed drinks are expertly made. Try to get a window seat in the bar room, you won’t regret the ambiance.
Quaint atmosphere atmosphere, great service and excellent food at very reasonable prices
This is my new favorite local restaurant!! The food was great, the service was excellent, the cocktails were delicious and the ambiance was glorious!! I had the chicken schnitzel and it was top knotch! My husband had a burger and just about licked his plate. My dad had a steak that he thought was perfect, and told me the whisky sour was ALMOST as good as the one he makes at home... that's HUGE! We will be back and have already been telling all our friends about this place. Looking forward to it being a staple in our monthly restaurant outings.
The food and ambiance were great. Our waitress was definitely not. She disappeared for great periods of time when we could see other wait staff bustling around their tables constantly. We finally got her to take our appetizer order and she said "I'm sorry, the appetizers are going to come out at the same time as your meal", and we had not even ordered our meal yet! At one point during dinner, we asked another wait staff to find our waitress. When she finally arrived at the table, she apologized and said she had been in the bathroom the entire time (which didn't make us feel too good about her serving us after that). So we loved the food and venue....but the service pretty much ruined the experience, and I had booked at Harlow's on Father's Day to give my husband a special treat.
Relaxing, private area with excellent food. Delicious!
Great food, top notch drinks and a wonderful atmosphere. This place is great for date night or for special occasions with family and friends.
Absolutely stunned by how great our experience was! We celebrated Father's Day and a Birthday and everybody had an excellent time.
We'll be back!
We had the deviled eggs trio app which was delicious, braised shank that fell off the bone and berry crepes that had a filling that reminded us of a creamy light cheese cake, amazing. The atmosphere is stunning, warm and romantic. Service was impeccable. Will be back often.
This place is truly stunning. No expense was spared recreating the old club house into an Art Deco inspired club. The drinks were phenomenal and the food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back. A new gem!
Prices were moderate to high. Food was tasty and well prepared but a bit skimpy on quantity. Ambiance was nice and social distancing was good.
Gorgeous ambiance and delicious food. Highly recommend.
Loved everything about it! We will be back soon.
We love Harlow's! As soon as you walk in, you are taken by the decor. They have done an outstanding job at creating a restaurant with character and ambience. The menu is simple but interesting and delicious. This little gem is a place you can dress up and fit in beautifully, although it appears to not be required. One of the more interesting restaurants I have been to, LOVE IT!
We enjoy the feel of the facility. Also enjoy the food and cocktails. Service is professional. Wish it was 20% less expensive. Will still return on occasion.
Awesome place. Everything felt a little rushed is the only thing. Food was amazing and service was good
I rated them 5 stars the first time we went in but service and food has gone down hill big time. I’d be writing all day if I mentioned the 6-7 things that were unbelievable yesterday during dining. I hope they can recover and get back to their old selves pre covid19.
Amazing ambiance, but decor doesn’t fill the gut. Food was delicious and drinks outstanding. Had the steak, which was good, but their chicken sandwich was even better! But the bison empanadas and berry crepe were heavenly! Yummy margaritas and snazzy smoked old fashioned. Plenty of options even for the pickiest eater (me). Can get pricey if you’re doing drinks and apps but a great first venture out since corona. I hope Harlows makes it bc we need more places like this in north county. We will be back for sure! 😍
First time there during pandemic but enjoyed the meal! We were late our rez so ended up in the front room. Main room appears nicer.. great ambiance!:)
The calm chowder and 5 Baby Green Salad wsz fabulous. The new steak eas very tender. Great food and ambience.
The crepe was very tough on the bottom, could hardly cut though it with the knife.
The meat in the sandwich was overcooked, almost like jerky.
The decor was very eclectic and fun.
Great ambiance and a great makeover from a former run down country club. All of our food was delicious, we had apps, dinner and dessert. Definitely try the chocolate trifle, you will not be disappointed.
Disappointed. The special halibut wasn’t available. Our second choice, pasta, wasn’t available. So disappointing to not have dinner options, unless you eat beef. My short ribs were good and presented nicely, but not warm enough. The dessert was not good, no espresso machine. The service was good. The Myrtle Creek wine was excellent. I’ll give this restaurant another chance, because they are new. The theme is 40s, early 50s, a nice change from other restaurants in the Temecula, Oceanside, and Fallbrook area.
Our waiter, Andy, was terrific! He was very attentive and pleasant. Treated myself and my girls, like we were special! Everyone at Harlow’s was very pleasant and friendly. Great restaurant, unique atmosphere, and a fun experience.
Ran out of specials early!
Wine is pricey.
My son hosted my 81st birthday at Harlow's and it was everything I hoped it would be. The decor was a wonderful trip back to the '40s and it was so nice to have the music from that era as nice background
music instead of blaring noise you get in some restaurants these days. Our waiter was very attentive and anticipated our every need. We had a party of nine and everything went as planned. We ordered several appetizers and they were all delicious. Their special that day was the grilled swordfish. When it came, it was almost 5 inches thick and cooked to perfection. Three of us had the swordfish and two others had the steak
which looked delicious as well. We will definitely go back. I told my brother-in-law about it and he lives in Fallbrook and had not heard about Harlow's. He said he was anxious to give it a try. If he has the same experience we had, the word will get out. He owns Nessy Burger right up the road. Thanks for making my 81st so special.
The food was okay but all choices seemed rather heavy and high calorie, the service was good, the cocktails were the bright spot, quite good, but the noise level was totally unacceptable. We were not able to carry on a conversation and could hardly wait to finish our meals so we could leave. Also, the lighting was so low the menu was unreadable and the food virtually invisible. We had really been looking forward to trying Harlow's and came away disappointed and kind of angry that we had spent over $100 for such a miserable experience
The decor is absolutely stunning. The cocktails are delicious. We love this place.
Just waiting for Happy hour, somewhere new to go ! lovely Aloha Debbie
Love having another special place to have a great meal at.
Really appreciated Will’s and Allen’s extra attention to make my friend Mary’s 95th birthday luncheon a special occasion. And the halibut fish and chips got rave reviews for being the best we’ve ever had. Thanks so much.
Loved the food, environment & aesthetic of the place! It’s such a cozy spot with GREAT food in big portions. Food was worth the price and will definitely go back again!
Might recommend for lunch. At night, restaurant is so dark, you cannot see your plate. Found myself chewing the fat and gristle from the steak. Valentine dinner (75.00 per) expensive for no tablecloth, less than attentive service, good food but not great, a middle of the road experience. Decor is interesting and inviting, but you can’t eat it!!!
Lots of room for improvement but I’d give it a daytime try.
Loved the decor and will be back in the summer to take advantage of the patio.
The night we went the menu was 'limited' but really good all the same, so, again, we will be back to sample a regular menu.
Our server, Randall, was exceptional! The ambiance was lovely and our only criticism for that would be that they should have better lighting to read the menu or give you those menu lights that clip on to the menus. The food was very good but the entree choices were very few. Maybe as they get more established, they will have more entrees to offer. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and we are planning on returning soon with more family members!
It is a 1940's atmosphere. We had the lobster potstickers and the lobster grilled cheese sandwich. Both were excellent. My sister had the smoked old fashioned. It was quiet the presentation! We will be back and have already referred a few people.
All the staff was very friendly and professional Dinner was delicious.
