   Family of six out for a meal in the late afternoon We won’t be back sadly. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, and the music was far too loud we could barely hear ourselves think. To be told that I wasn’t allowed to swap out fries due to my intolerance, for greens (a side that was the same price as a portion of fries) on my steak main seemed very bizarre. I asked, “are you sure? It’s an intolerance?” Was met with “yes I’m sure, the chef won’t do it” We said unfortunately we’ll have to leave then as the attitude felt appalling. It was only then that the chef decided he actually could give me some greens instead of fries. Either the chef, or the owner of this restaurant, are suffering from a severe case of arrogance. Such a shame as the food was outstanding.

   Lovely warm welcome. Warm confirtable stylish restaurant Very attentive service. Great food. Really excellent quality beef and delicious vegetables. What's not to like

   Food excellent .Service very good . BUT THE MUSIC WAS WAY TO LOUD!! Asked to turn it down . Manager said he wasnt allowed to do so !! So thats that Ears still rattling GREAT PITY

   Excellent food, very tasty and very good service. The one issue my husband and I had was the loud music in the back ground - quite unecessary and we had to ask for it to be turned down, but we still found it annoying - what is the point of having this?    We celebrated our Golden Anniversary with a lunch here. We couldn’t have chosen better. Everything was superb. The only tiny criticism was that the background music was very loud but this was rectified immediately when we requested a decrease in the volume. We love it here and will be back! 😊

   Service charge of 12.5% automatically added to the bill, without being declared on the menu, or verbally at any point. It was offered to be removed immediately when questioned, however personally I would prefer for the upfront clarity so that I can make an informed choice. I regularly leave tips, but I would prefer it to be my choice when I do, the lack of declaration, makes the charge mandatory unless you wish to have an awkward conversation.

   Open kitchen so you could see the chef licking and sucking his fingers then handling food without washing his hands. At one point he squirted a bottle of something on his palm then licked it off the placed Yorkshire pudding on plates. Also the half of the roast was cold and the other half really hot

   We had a superb experience at Harbour House. The welcome was friendly and engaging, the ambience was very comfortable and relaxing, really nicely laid out and decorated. The menu was varied, and the food we had delicious, and attractively presented. An enticing selection of drinks, too. Just a lovely experience and we look forward to returning. P.S. Trivial Pursuit cards on the table are an excellent idea for when conversation lags; never a dull moment when arguing over answers!

    One of the best pubs and the best Sunday lunches of all time. Everything perfect, what a place. Definitely worth a visit
