Best dining experience I have ever had! We loved it !
Great spot for out of towners. However was pretty disappointed that for a place on the harbor they have no local oysters (New York and Canada...really?) and the Lobster "roll" was on a slider bun. We had a newbie waitress, but for a party of 8 I would have expected someone shadowing her. Would still go back because the other apps were good.
Nice view and saw a movie during dinner in small amphitheater surrounding on water .. tapas only but decent. It’s location location
Solid service. Great fresh seafood. Awesome date spot.
Bitter sweet... the final Blues Barge of the season... lots of friends came. Will miss it...
Very enjoyable wait staff... nice young people from all over the world.
It's really too bad that 2 people, I believe from Australia, who had a lot to drink, and were dancing on the barge wildly and uncontrollably, went over the rope barrier into the harbor. The video shows their erratic dancing. I understand as a result, there may be no more dancing on the barge. I hope the Boston Harbor Hotel finds a way to protect themselves from liability and allow barge dancing again in the future. It's been a big attraction for many years without any mishaps.
Food and drink is very expensive - But considering there is no cover charge for their amazing "Summer in the City" series entertainment (Mike Dutra and the Strictly Sinatra Band), I feel the free entertainment is absorbed into the cost of the food and drinks, making this a real value! The restaurant does not carry table salt (really!), so if you like your food salted beyond their chef's sparing palate, bring your own!
Great view. Good service. pretty bad Only have appetizers, mostly fried and unhealthy stuff. I ordered the fish tacos. worst I have ever had, bar none. drink prices are way up there, but you are paying for the location.
The food was just ok.
This is an appetizer “tapas” style venue. There are no meals on the menu. We got oysters, hamburger sliders, Parmesan fries, mini lobster rolls and fish sticks.
We go there to enjoy the live music and to dance! Our friends love to meet us there and it's been a regular Thursday night plan all summer!
Casual, fun and great music!
We went for the summer series and while the band was great, the speakers were really loud and the food just okay.
The Harborwalk Terrace is a great stop post boating! We loved the food and the service. They offer live music several days a week during the summer! So awesome!
Great service, food was delicious!
Service continues to be horrible here. Waitstaff just disappears and you literally have to get up and find someone to get a second drink. Kind of ironic considering they have a $40 minimum per person.
The music was bumping the drinks were flowing the fists were pumping. Fat City brought the energy on the stage while I brought the energy on the dance floor (aka fist pumping from my seat). Party on dudes and dudettes! \m/
It took 40 minutes to get wine and a margarita. For $16/drink, that is beyond unacceptable.
Great date spot. The small two person tables right in front of the band is ideal for a date night. I can’t complain about any aspect of this place.
I've been going to the Boston Harbor Hotel, Harbor Walk Terrace since it began 20 years ago. I absolutely love it! Outdoor dining on Boston Harbor with some of the best musical groups around. .. great entertainment good food. And, dancing on the Barge to boot for the last 2 sets.
Not to mention, you get to meet some of nicest kids (in their 20s) in the world. And I do mean in the world. There are kids from Ireland, Bosnia, Romania just to name a few. There are even some from the Boston area. Most are here just for the summer to earn a few dollars before they go back home and back to school. Who needs to travel? :)... they come here! They are an incredibly positive for immigration!
Excellent food and service. Great portions and fast service.
Dad was visiting from another country and we wanted to give him a summer Boston night out experience. He loved it!
We had a table in front of the band, which was perfect! The tables are small bistro style, so we had to keep removing the empty small plates from the table to make room for the next ones. The food was good, not exceptional. The entertainment was Pulse Boston, who was wonderful! It was a fun couple of hours. The restaurant has 2 seatings for the evening, and I felt a bit rushed to finish for the second seating. I regretted having to give up our table before the music ended.
Beautiful weather & music. Food over priced and not super tasty. Would like more options like salads.
Service was excellent.
We were there for the concert. We had the most delicious drinks and the food was very very good. We had the Salami, Prosciutto and cheese platter which was delicious, and very fresh. We each had a cheeseburger slider - quite good but went by too fast! Before that we shared a fish taco which was very tasty, and you could pour the salsa on if you wanted to. Finally we had the cod and haddock cake - which if you like fish cakes, was very very good. Nice fresh veggies with that last one. We had the Harbor Breeze, Harbor Walk Vodka Lemonade, the Champagne Daiquiri, and the Cucumber Cooler. We liked the first two the best! Very very nice waiter, and the free concert by Soul City was the best! We are looking forward to attending another concert here-perfect view from the Harborwalk Terrace!
As it was a beautiful evening during always popular Summer in the City, with Mike Dutra Strictly Sinatra Band; I decided to take myself out on a date. I was pleasantly surprised when hostess Manuela seated me in prime real-estate. While waiting for my waiter I noticed that Manuela regularly checking in on both staff and patrons being very attentive while unobtrusive. My waiter Joseph was also extremely proficient and knowledgeable on the menu and recommended drink accompaniments. Joseph made sure to check-in on me as appropriate but without making me feel pressured or rushed.
As the menu for this occasion is limited I can't speak on the food so much but the service and ambiance is quite nice. The best part for me was just how welcoming, polite and courteous all the staff were.
We tried many items in including fish tacos, cod and salmon cakes, lobster roll, chicken and quinoa, and chips and guacamole.
Lobster roll was good (not great) and chips were good. All, others were bland, tasteless, chunks of nutrients. Absolutely horrible!
Service, Alexandar, was fantastic as was the cucumber cooler.
Would not try again unfortunately...
We left after waiting for our reservation for over half an hour. It was completely disorganized.
Fun spot on the water. Unfortunately the kitchen always seems to be backed up! Food takes along time to arrive.
We had a nice evening, listening to music, seated outdoors on the waterfront. The food was good, but there were some problems with the service (table not cleared, waiter mostly not around). I've been there other times and the service was fine, so I'm assuming they were short-staffed.
A good place to meet friends for drinks and perfect place for dancing on the Blue Barge.
The Blues Barge is a floating stage anchored behind the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf provides the setting for some of the hottest local and national blues artists.
Everything about the Harborwalk is great when the Summer in the City music is playing. The waitstaff pays close attention to your needs, especially when you haven't ordered anything in a while. You must order in order to stay (water doesn't count).
Can’t beat the location and the music on the water. The food was average at best, the service was slow, and everything was very expensive.
Food was awful and service was the same, only go for the atmosphere and to watch the bands
We had a wonderful time. My friends and I have been enjoying Mike Dutra at the Summer in the City concerts for a number of years when I lived in Boston. Two years ago I moved 94 miles from Boston and still try to drive to Boston Harbor Hotel to hear Mike Dutra two or three times each summer. My group applaud you for changing the Terrace tables and chairs..much more comfortable than the metal wire sets. The waitstaff from Serbia are friendly, attentive and efficient. The day we were there unfortunately there was a problem with the grill. All the food we wanted to order was not available; cheeseburger sliders, parmesan cheese french fries, scallops. After three hours the grill was repaired and we finally received the fries. I know you are a fabulous hotel with incredible food but did feel the drinks were overpriced with a small glass of rum and coke being $15.00. Wednesday, August 29, there will be eight of us returning to hear Mike for his final concert of the season. Four of my group live in Western Massachusetts and have never been to the Boston Harbor Hotel or the summer concert series. I know it will be special and they will enjoy themselves. Please make sure it doesn't rain that day! We're counting on you.
Thank you so much.
Service was not good. However you can’t blame the wait staff. New servers and understaffed. Managers and other staff need to step in and help. Get your hands dirty. Ordered top shelf liquor on two occasions and was told they didn’t have either. Also your $40 a person requirement with the current menu you have is unreasonable.
Una agradable experiencia ya que escuchamos música en vivo mientras comíamos, hermosa vista y deliciosas botanas. Súper recomendable!!
The experience was almost perfect. We were there for the Strictly Sinatra night and loved the music. The view is magnificent and the service was good. A little expensive for the simple food we had, but overall, it was worth it, and I would go again at least once a summer.
First time for the Summer in the City. Service was great and we had a wonderful view. Would go back again!
