Welcome to Harbor Lights! For over 50 years we have been a staple in the Tacoma community. A rustic atmosphere that sits on the shore of Commencement Bay with scenic views providing the quintessential Northwest dining experience. Harbor Lights joined the Anthony's family on April 29th, 2000 after being the dream of Anton Barcott, an immigrant from Yugoslavia. On January 26, 1959 Anton opened Harbor Lights among the lumber mills and shipyards along the waterfront. We are well known for serving large portions of seafood such as the two pound bucket of steamed clams and have a loyal following of wonderful guests!

Nice views. The food was fine. Service was slow. Prices high. It was just OK.

HL is always my favorite, but I liked the menu they had before Anthony's took them over. I wish they would go back to their original menu. It was delicious and more food for a more reasonable price.

We had our 15th anniversary there and asked for some special items (window table, roses, Cabernet) but when we arrived, nothing was there at our middle of the room not window table. The receptionist said she called to tell us that they didn’t do any of our requests, but I had zero calls on my phone. Food was good, but the experience was not. Probably won’t go there again.

Although very tasty, the selection is smaller than what it was in the past. All 3 of us had the crab toast (my favorite) but the cole slaw is a little too bland and could use improvement. Ordered a side of fries and they are great!. The burnt cream dessert is wonderful. Overall I highly recommend the Harbor Lights.

Harbor lights is an old establishment and it looks sadly old. It is owned by the Anthony’s restaurant group and I am surprised that they haven’t spent any money to fix it up. Food was good - ( fish and chips and steamers) service was great ( don’t remember waitress name but she had been there for 25 years!) . Think summer would be good to visit there so you could be outside enjoying the view.

My reservation was at 8:45pm, but when I got there , they were rushing me to order , because the kitchen was going to close at 9pm. And the server was coming to my table every minute to ask me if I was ready to order, told her that I was waiting for somebody, to give me few minutes, but she keeps coming telling me to order because the kitchen is closing at 9pm, So I left the restaurant I think that was very disrespectful, why would they let you make a reservation at 8:45pm when they close the kitchen at 9pm ? I didn’t know that, That’s ridiculous and on top of that they make you feel like it was your faulted. I really want to come there but I will appreciate if they fix this reservation problem because I was driving from Mount Vernon to meet my date that was driving from Portland, so that was a very bad first date.

This was my first time visiting since the ownership change. I am totally impressed. The interior has been renewed and looks good. Can't beat the location. The food was great and the value was good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were getting together with a friend and his wife and it was just a welcome home dinner for both couples. Everything was wonderful. That is why we like to go to dinner at Harbor Lights. Lovely view, good service, and the food is good.

Nostalgia must be the reason that Harbor Lights gets such glowing online reviews. It's amazing for a restaurant to stay in business for over 60 years. But, best waterfront/seafood restaurant in Tacoma? Not even close. I've been to two or three that are better. Our server was very good and took good care of us, but the food was, at best, just adequate. We were definitely underwhelmed.

We were able to get a reservation easily, and we were seated as soon as we got there. Our waitperson was excellent-- present when we needed her, not when we didn't. Food came in a timely way. My salmon was pretty ordinary, but the sides, bread, and drinks were excellent. Plenty of food. We've been here many times and always had a good experience. Last night was no exception.

Harbor Lights is my son John's favorite restaurant (even though he has moved to
Aberdeen). Last night we celebrated both our birthdays - his just past and mine just a few days away. His oysters and my scallops were outstanding!

Great resturant, great food. Service is on the slow side?
Not the best teamwork. I don't like being ignored when seated. I consider the price of the food is also part of the service. Could of been a bad night for our server?
She seemed consumed in other tables conversation around us. I attempted to get her attention, and was ignored? Hmm, should of said something to the manager.

Met a group in bar our waitress was great! But the manager/hostess was so rude and obviously needs a different job. So in the bar you can’t stand having a drink without your mask only seated, the disgruntled blonde manager kept coming up to me to put on my mask every time I got up to check on my guests at other tables.
Seated no masks, standing masks 😷
Ridiculous and annoying

The dinner was calm and relaxing, the service was exceptional, if not the best we have ever experienced!
The food was well prepared, however, the steak proportion was smaller than expected and would have liked an alternative to the brussel sprouts. 😵
