Harbor Lights Tacoma
Northwest Pan Fried Oysters
Fresh yearling oysters pan fried until golden brown
Nice views. The food was fine. Service was slow. Prices high. It was just OK.
We Celebrated our 38th Anniversary dinner at Harbor Lights. Had amazing food and service. Can't wait to go there again. Marcia & Jim
HL is always my favorite, but I liked the menu they had before Anthony's took them over. I wish they would go back to their original menu. It was delicious and more food for a more reasonable price.
We had our 15th anniversary there and asked for some special items (window table, roses, Cabernet) but when we arrived, nothing was there at our middle of the room not window table. The receptionist said she called to tell us that they didn’t do any of our requests, but I had zero calls on my phone. Food was good, but the experience was not. Probably won’t go there again.
Although very tasty, the selection is smaller than what it was in the past. All 3 of us had the crab toast (my favorite) but the cole slaw is a little too bland and could use improvement. Ordered a side of fries and they are great!. The burnt cream dessert is wonderful. Overall I highly recommend the Harbor Lights.
Love this place. 😍 The food and view are perfect! See you next week.
Harbor lights is an old establishment and it looks sadly old. It is owned by the Anthony’s restaurant group and I am surprised that they haven’t spent any money to fix it up. Food was good - ( fish and chips and steamers) service was great ( don’t remember waitress name but she had been there for 25 years!) . Think summer would be good to visit there so you could be outside enjoying the view.
Service was impeccable. Food was fresh and prepared well. Drinks were reasonable.
The fish and chips were amazing. It was our first visit and we'll definitely be back.
My reservation was at 8:45pm, but when I got there , they were rushing me to order , because the kitchen was going to close at 9pm. And the server was coming to my table every minute to ask me if I was ready to order, told her that I was waiting for somebody, to give me few minutes, but she keeps coming telling me to order because the kitchen is closing at 9pm, So I left the restaurant I think that was very disrespectful, why would they let you make a reservation at 8:45pm when they close the kitchen at 9pm ? I didn’t know that, That’s ridiculous and on top of that they make you feel like it was your faulted. I really want to come there but I will appreciate if they fix this reservation problem because I was driving from Mount Vernon to meet my date that was driving from Portland, so that was a very bad first date.
This was my first time visiting since the ownership change. I am totally impressed. The interior has been renewed and looks good. Can't beat the location. The food was great and the value was good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I love my random visits to Harbor Lights! Great service and food!
We were getting together with a friend and his wife and it was just a welcome home dinner for both couples. Everything was wonderful. That is why we like to go to dinner at Harbor Lights. Lovely view, good service, and the food is good.
Our waitress was awesome. Friendly yet professional. food and presentation was wonderful.. can't recommend this restaurant enough
Lovely view. Good food. Nice staff, trying their best
I've been going to Harbor Lights for more than 50 years and the food is still fantastic. I hope I can keep going for another 50 years
I enjoyed my visit to Harbor Lights. The Halibut meal was great and service was friendly.
Nostalgia must be the reason that Harbor Lights gets such glowing online reviews. It's amazing for a restaurant to stay in business for over 60 years. But, best waterfront/seafood restaurant in Tacoma? Not even close. I've been to two or three that are better. Our server was very good and took good care of us, but the food was, at best, just adequate. We were definitely underwhelmed.
We were able to get a reservation easily, and we were seated as soon as we got there. Our waitperson was excellent-- present when we needed her, not when we didn't. Food came in a timely way. My salmon was pretty ordinary, but the sides, bread, and drinks were excellent. Plenty of food. We've been here many times and always had a good experience. Last night was no exception.
Always a great time....wish I'd started going there years ago.
Very good service, reasonable prices, overall excellent food, even have us split plays for a small salad... definitely returning
Harbor Lights is my son John's favorite restaurant (even though he has moved to
Aberdeen). Last night we celebrated both our birthdays - his just past and mine just a few days away. His oysters and my scallops were outstanding!
Love harbor light s - family favorite & consistent
Great food and atmosphere!
To much noise to carry on a conversation at normal voice levels
Harbor Lights is my favorite restaurant but please bring back the tempura battered halibut. Definitely do not like the Panko crusted halibut.
Food was good. The service is always great. One of my favorite places to eat.
We come often to Harbor Lights for the last 50Years. Excellent cocktails and warm sourdough bread. Come visit in person.
Nice and relaxed when we went on a Tuesday evening. Great mood lighting. Full view of the harbor was nice even with just the lights in the distance.
Great view. Always nice, helpful staff. Like everywhere else right now, their food selection is limited d/t shipping issues.
Great resturant, great food. Service is on the slow side?
Not the best teamwork. I don't like being ignored when seated. I consider the price of the food is also part of the service. Could of been a bad night for our server?
She seemed consumed in other tables conversation around us. I attempted to get her attention, and was ignored? Hmm, should of said something to the manager.
Met a group in bar our waitress was great! But the manager/hostess was so rude and obviously needs a different job. So in the bar you can’t stand having a drink without your mask only seated, the disgruntled blonde manager kept coming up to me to put on my mask every time I got up to check on my guests at other tables.
Seated no masks, standing masks 😷
Ridiculous and annoying
excellent food good value friendly. Best deal around for good seafood.
Great service … good food.. we enjoyed the evening…
Jim and Cathi
The dinner was calm and relaxing, the service was exceptional, if not the best we have ever experienced!
The food was well prepared, however, the steak proportion was smaller than expected and would have liked an alternative to the brussel sprouts. 😵
please clean the Seagull droppings from the panoramic view windows. it really is disgusting to see while you are eating dinner.
Fantastic selection of seafood and steaks! Amazing view! Best service!
Made lunch midweek reservation and that was rewarded with front corner table. Very nice and quiet.
Food was very good and proportions were very generous.
My reservations were at 5:15 we were running late and I called them to let them know. We arrived at 5:40 at our table was waiting for us. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious I would definitely go there again.
