Need to book at 8:45 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Once we got to a big enough table all was good.
The server forgot our wine, other than that it was great!
Great service, great food all around, great view. Even on a holiday (Valentine's Day), they were fast & efficient.
Valentine’s Day menu was great. Always a great experience here.
Went to celebrate Valentine day. Service was very good, food very tasty and well presented. Had a real good time. Is not the cheapest place but is worth it if you want good service and good quality food.
This visit to Harbor House was not up to their
usual standards. The food was good, but not great. The service was very good. The restaurant was freezing cold and even though we reported it, it never improved. Also, the restrooms needed attention.
This seafood restaurant on the shores of Lake Michigan has stellar views of the Milwaukee skyline and provides a restaurant experience that rivals any other in the Midwest. Service was very attentive without being annoying. Lobster rolls for less that $30 had huge pieces of claw meat. Surf and turf options are also available as well as vegetarian fair. Everything, from calamari appetizer, to oysters on the half shell, to hearty cioppino was delicious. Complimentary flourless chocolate cake came with a lit candle for our birthday guest. Just an all round classy experience!
Great food and service. Always worth the visit.
The restaurant venue and service is top notch. In regards to the food, unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. For the price of an entree, higher quality of presentation and taste was expected. The roll on my sandwich was old/hard and the fish on the sandwich had a rubber like texture. I guess for the price, I expected better. Would go back for the experience, but disappointed with food quality.
Great food and nice views of the lake and Milwaukee Sky Line.
The service and the surroundings were outstanding and I would recommend Harbor House for those reasons. The food was good but not as great as I'd expect for the price. I had a fish special and I would have liked to know that the fish was served whole before ordering. It meant I had the head, the scales, and all the bones to contend with, which I don't like. The other people at the table enjoyed their meals but didn't rave about them.
Service and food was amazing!!
Always received good food and service when I’ve visited for dinner, however this last trip was for brunch and I don’t know that I’ll return again (for brunch) for the following reasons:
1) There is very little room to move around in between tables, this has never been an issue when I’ve gone for dinner because there is limited need to leave your table once seated. During brunch however, I think they need to create space for guests to get up, sit down, and access the food stations without interrupting or waiting on other tables to give room......which may mean losing a table or two in need be.
2) I don’t have any issue paying what they charge for brunch, but charging full price for a 5 yr old seems a bit outrageous to me. I didn’t realize that happened until after I left and looked closer at my receipt otherwise I’d have said something to the manager on the spot.
-1 star for each point listed above = 3 of 5 stars.
Impeccable views , flawless service , perfect flavors. Everything was perfect.
Thank you for such a lovely dinner..... your wait staff was wonderful - kind, funny, and informative.
just ask that drinks (our wine and beer) be delivered before the soup and salad...
but no worries...all was wonderful
The food and service was fantastic!
From the time we arrived, about 40 minutes early to have a cocktail, till the time we departed our overall experience was outstanding. Our server Clarissa was very friendly and charming. Our food was perfect. We definitely will be back!
The seating was a little tight and the table itself was very small for a party of 2, but overall a good experience. The food was delicious. Had the seafood chowder and it was amazing. Great service and a great view of the art center.
Food was mediocre at best. My sea bass was swimming in a pool of watery butter. Everything else was bland and boring. The service was excellent.
great view. excellent food. great service. they really go above and beyond.
Wait staff was very nice and took care of us. Wine selection was outstanding. Great place for fresh seafood. Best view of Milwaukee skyline from the Harbor House
Waiter was perfunctory and absent after food delivered.
My perch was room temperature. Perch had been recooked and dried out. When the manager came and saw the situation sent out one filet-really
My husband ordered his fish just off translucent and it was overcooked. The replacement piece was fine
View is spectacular, but we would probably not return
Expensive but everything is very well done
We've been to Harbor House several times, and the service was noticeably slower than during previous visits. Wait staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food was just slow getting to the table, and the scallops were not up to their usual size and quality.
This restaurant is beautiful and the food is above average life a bit pricey. We stated that it was our anniversary on OpenTable but yet the restaurant didn’t acknowledge that
Great meal at one of Milwaukee’s finest restaurants. It was our anniversary, and the staff was wonderful. We both remember Pieces of Eight, which was SUCH a disaster for way too many years. So we appreciate a restaurant that is equal to the best location in the city. Keep it up!
Everything great, but a bit pricey to dine more than occassionally
Everything was fantastic, service was excellent, harbor house is such a fantastic place.
First time at Harbor House - it was great - will definitely go back!
The inside is super cute & nice - i LOVED how it looked. The view of the lake was also desirable.
Our server & food was also great. I had crab legs & my boyfriend had the lobster tail & filet combo. I was expecting a larger portion of crab legs tho.
Over great experience - cant wait to go back once the weather is nicer!
Another "fantabulous" evening! Stacy and Danielle took care of us as we tabled at 40/1, and enjoyable relaxing would just about dial in the night! Service fantastic from arrival to departure and certainly everything in between ... hat's off to Exec / Sous-chef as well!
The food, ambiance, attentiveness of the talent catering to our needs - is what continues to bring us back. Amazing place, amazing people - amazing food and wine selections.
We went for my fiance's birthday for Sunday brunch, and our server was amazing!
Nicholas was an excellent server. Food was excellent.
My husband and I both really wish we had orderEd off the menu and not chosen the “special” of the night Really not impressed
Yearly trip to Milwaukee for the Marquette Basketball game, annual meal at Harbor House!
One of our guests is gluten intolerant: Billie somehow knew that (Open Table?) and brought him rice crackers when he brought the bread to the table. VERY IMPRESSIVE.
Amazing service and even better food! We truly enjoyed our time here and will be back again!
The location is great as a Milwaukee spot to enjoy the lakefront view that looks upon the Calatrava (although to be transparent, there isn’t great lighting on the lakefront to take advantage of the view after dark - when we were there).
The building design and atmosphere also after a clean fresh look that I found inviting even in its busy crush of activity on this particular Saturday evening.
We had a reservation on a busy Saturday evening. We were sat promptly. All staff interactions were pleasant, friendly and sociable. The wait time for service was made pleasant by the atmosphere and our own company, but it was SLOW - too slow for the overall quality position of the restaurant (and pricing). That is not to say that anyone was standing around, more that water glasses remained empty for too long, request for a couple extra rolls went unfulfilled, it was a wait to place the appetizer order, and a wait again to place the food order. We had coffee after dinner and was never able to get a refill. A long wait again to get and pay the bill. Just a lot of waiting.
As for the food we had a cross section so feel we had a good representation of quality and presentation. The beet salad was good, but as I don’t eat blue or goat cheese, would have been better if there had been an option for feta. The wedge salad seemed more of a “slice” and so was missing the cold crunch that is supposed to be a wedge signature; think they saved money in the wrong place on that one. The trout, scallops, and cioppino were good if a little lite on seasoning. The bone in ribeye that my brother-in-law ordered had a good presentation and I think it was fine too - he doesn’t comment. All in all, it was a fine meal and a nice location.
I have been to other Bartolotta restaurants but not this one. I might come back for a brunch or luncheon, but I’m not sure I’d come back for a special occasion event.
The service was excellent, arrived 1hour early and the venue made accommodations to seat our party early. We had cocktails, appetizers, entree, and dessert . The food was to die for, great quality cuts of meat cooked to perfection combined with fresh seafood choices. Definitely fine dining at a reasonable price. Look forward to going again.
The food and service was great. The only thing I was a little unhappy about is the space. I didn't have much room at all between the table and the person behind me. I squeezed in and then couldn't move. But everything else was great.
It was a busy Friday evening and my husband and I were seated at a table by the window, with a lovely view of the Art Center and the water. We started with shrimp cocktail and split a Caesar salad. Both were terrific, and we appreciated that the salad was divided for us. My husband loved his striped sea bass and the scallops I ordered were perfectly cooked and plentiful. The roasted delicata squash, cauliflower, brussels sprouts leaves and brown butter balsamic sauce that accompanied the scallops added a perfect touch. We ended with delicious coffee and pumpkin cream torte. Service was attentive and pleasant and all dishes were timed well. We have enjoyed Harbor House in the past, but this experience was a step up.
We enjoyed Harbor House very much. We've been there several times for brunch, but this was our first visit for dinner. We ordered fried clams as an appetizer. They were very good, but were like those we would get at Howard Johnson, complete with french fries in a basket. We expected a more classy preparation. I ordered tuna nicoise which was very good. My husband ordered branzino, which the waitress suggested would be boney. It certainly was. The potatoes that accompanied it were quite bland. I was treated with a delicious flourless chocolate torte with ice cream for my birthday treat. Our servers were quite pleasant, professional and attentive. So, while we enjoyed dinner, all in all, it wasn't up to par to what we anticipated from our brunch experience.
