The meal was excellent. We had halibut and a filet. The preparation was perfect. The service was outstanding. The wine list was extensive with low, medium, and upper priced high end products.
Three of us were celebrating our friend’s retirement. We had a wonderful lunch. Our server even brought out 2 desserts for us to share for our celebration!
Had to send back a lobster roll as everything about it was bad. Received a replacement lobster roll and the roll was burnt. How does a seafood restaurant at this price point mess up a lobster roll? All other dinners in our group were just ok, nothing to remember.
Our favorite spot for celebrating when we're in Milwaukee!
Outstanding meal, food and drink was great.
Seated in room with 10 tables which is less noisy with great view of Lake Michigan.
Top restaurant in Milwaukee.
Great experience with 3 generations of our family! There was something for everyone- delicious food, great views, beautiful space and impeccable service!
Food was excellent along with the service. The sea scallops were a great appetizer, before the lobster tails. Valet parking and a friendly staff. Best Regards, Doug
Amazing meal to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. One of our favorite restaurants for the good and ambiance.
The owner even came over to ask how we were doing and that led us for dining at her restaurant.
Our go to in Milwaukee. You will not be disappointed!! This place is amazing!!!
Scallops, crab cakes were fantastic.
They don't always warn you that a dish is spicy. Mine was but they fixed it.
Always delicious food attentive service and a great view.
my sister and I were nicely accommodated with a window seat not too far into the restaurant. we're seniors with slow walking speed so that request was appreciated. the food was excellent and the prices reflected the beautiful location and fresh décor. the valet parking was also a plus. saw many sailboats out and one came very close to the outside walk. very nice indeed. will come again
Amazing views sitting right on the water. Beautiful restaurant and floor plan. 3 of us had fish and one steak, all of the food was delicious. We had a great time! Would for sure add this to our fav. list!
Celebrated my birthday with several friends and the staff was very welcoming and efficient. Our food arrived on time and everyone got served at the same time. Everyone loved their food and I even got a
birthday dessert as a surprise. Note: their happy hour appetizers/cocktails do not apply to dining room.
Couldn't beat the water view as our table was by a window. We came early so could hear each other but
within an hour it was packed and we could no longer converse without leaning in.
Everything was Great! Will always recommend people and I will be back! Great job harbor house
The food was fantastic as usual. We had to wait longer than usual for our food but it was perfectly prepared and hot when it arrived. Always a great dining experience!
This is a wonderful restaurant, the food is excellent, the service is very attentive, the views and ambiance are second to none, just a very lovely place to go for a special occasion.
Great service atmosphere and food
As always, food is very good and the view of the lake is wonderful. Our service was very slow. We had to ask what happened to our drinks. Assume they were just understaffed that night.
We were very disappointed in Harbor House this weekend. We are good customers and usually love it but they were not accommodating at all when we had 2 babies . They sat us in the loudest section of the restaurant in the sun and when asked if we could change to one of the many EMPTY TABLEs in the back they said they couldn’t help us. Then our phone was stolen at the restaurant. Overall not a good experience.
We have enjoyed the Harbor House several times and have never been disappointed. The seafood is excellent and the setting superb.
I have to say the service was excellent. We went there for my husband’s birthday. The wait staff was very attentive and even brought out a birthday dessert (without even asking). The food was WAY over priced. It was good but wasn’t nearly worth the price we paid. Our reservation was early in the evening so the restaurant was not busy; it’s hard to understand why our food was over done. The drinks were also nothing special. Maybe my expectations were too high to begin with...?? Left disappointed.
We were there last Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day. Our waiter was polite but not at all attentive. You expect a different level of service at higher priced restaurants and we did not receive it.
They are great with food allergies. The waitress brought out rice crackers for me, since I couldn't eat anything in the bread basket. My dish was marked "allergy" with a wooden toothpick/stick. My only complaint is the food is expensive for what you receive. An extra scallop or 2 would have been perfect.
Food is excellent, views of the water and the city are lovely.
Thank Chris for your service for my Wife’s BD. The views were fabulous. The key lime pie was to die for. You made it a memorable 71st! Thanks you all!
Richard and Doreen Williamson
Loved this place so much we ate there 4 times on our recent business trip!
Excellent, location, food, service and atmosphere!!!
The steak was great. I wish waitstaff would write down orders instead of trying to memorize things because they forget when you ask for things in a certain way. Other than that the service was great.
One of the best places in Milwaukee. Great food, view, and service.
The service, as usual, was outstanding! The food was excellent and the view of the lake and city are amazing.
Great staff. Always fun to be there
My wife and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary on May 5, 2019 and the choice for dinner was a simple one: Harbor House, located on the shore of Lake Michigan near the Milwaukee Art Center and Discovery World, just north of the Summerfest grounds. To put it mildly, there is nowhere else like a Bartolotta restaurant, now operating without its celebrated owner, Joe Bartolotta, who passed away too young on April 22, 2019. There are few places in Milwaukee where one can go and experience the rare combination of ambiance, quality and quantity of food, and attentive service (without being intrusive), but the Harbor House is one of them. From the location, to the valet parking service, reception, serving, and kitchen staff, everything about the Harbor House is impeccable. Servers work in 2-person teams and on our recent visit, other than placing our drink and dinner order, we never had to ask for anything. Our team of Paul and Geniveve was wonderful.
I ordered an appetizer of fried clams and was surprised to see it consisted of a "basket" of friend clams and french fries. It was a meal on to itself. I also ordered a cup of the New England Clam chowder. In addition to the usual ingredients in clam chowder, the clams were minced up, as well as freshly fried bacon, putting the taste of the chowder over the top. My wife ordered a halibut special offered for that day and I ordered a combination plate of an 8 ounce filet mignon and a crab cake. Mine entree came with pureed potatoe and rather than spinach, which I cannot have, French green beans were an easy substitute. My entree was perfectly done, as usual.
The cost of my appetizer & soup, 2 entrees, my wife's 2 glasses of wine, plus tip, came to around $158, excluding tip. To say the Harbor House is pricey is a classic understatement. But, in terms of the setting, food, and service, we always get far more than we pay for. Best intimate dinner location in Milwaukee. We only wish Joe was still with us.
The food was delicious and our waitress was great!
I had a wonderful romantic dinner for two overlooking Lake Michigan. Harbor House has a contemporary, modern design straight out of Restoration Hardware. I loved it. The food was delicious. We had scallops and some of the East Coast Oysters. Our waiter was very professional and knew the menu well. Highly recommend Harbor House for fish and oysters!
Arrived at the restaurant at 7:40 for our 7:45 reservation, we were greeted by the pleasant host and told they're running behind a bit and it would be about 20 min. so we could sit at the cafe tables and have a drink and they would text when our table is ready. After 35 minutes wait, I approached the host desk and was told they tried to text but "It didn't go through". We were at the first cafe table, so in direct sight of the host. Our table just happened to be set now so we were escorted to the rear of the restaurant and placed at a corner table which happened to be farthest away from the view of the lake. We passed numerous tables on the way to the back that were set and vacant.
We were served water and and told our servers would be with us directly. After a short wait our server came to explain the procedure of the dining experience since one person in our party hadn't dined there previously. He left and returned periodically before taking our order, busy taking pictures for a birthday party at the next table.
At the end of dinner, our leftover food was packaged and at home discovered my wife's order was missing half of the surf and turf she planned on enjoying the next day.
Kind of disappointing for a special night out with friends to a "special" restaurant.
Food and the setting (right on the lake) are the main draw. Service can leave you feeling forgotten at times, though the servers i have encountered are always very nice. Can feel a bit cramped in when the restaurant is busy - they have put tables tight together, but not unlike other high end restaurants.
Clarissa and Brad gave terrific service. Food, drinks and view spectacular
Our seafood food was delicious, service was excellent.
