Brilliant food and really fun atmosphere - will be back :-)
Wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive. We appreciated being asked for feedback too. We will be back!
The food was very good! I just felt bad for my vegetarian friends because there weren’t many options for them.
Excellent food with a great variety of dishes you won’t find anywhere else
The Chef Recommenced menu is of great value, got to try most of the signature dishes at the right portion.
Terrible service. what a shame! Too may chairs and people are sitting back to back which it so annoying bumping seats all night.
Wonderful experience. Definitely worth a visit if staying in HK for a short time or if for a long time, this may be your new local. Just amazing beautifully gracious staff too. Try at least one cocktail. They’re out of this world.
Foods are impressive and taste are awesome, services are professional too, love to go again!
Nice but too expensive for standard food. Nothing amazing
We went there for gathering with a friend who visited Hong Kong for the first time. The venue provided a representative aspect of Hong Kong because of its location, and it was an unique experience. Food was delicious!
The seating I was given was the worst in the restaurant. The table was set along the long sofa but the back of my seat was half column half sofa back. This is not a proper seating, and it gave me a very bad first impression of this restaurant. The food tasted good but definitely not wow as in other reviews but the prices are on the high side. The restaurant is in bar setting with 90s canton pop as background music. Foreigners might find it exotic, but we found it’s a bit loud. Given to all these situations, even we wanted to have a drink, we just left to another place for that.
Loved Happy Paradise. The food was terrific as were the cocktails. The wine list was limited, but with food this good who cares.
Outstanding food, great cocktails, fun vibe and excellent service!
Trendy, delicious food, creative menu, well trained staff, a bit overpriced with small portions though
I've followed Anthony Bourdain for a while and when I saw his visit to my hometown HKG, that he picked Happy Paradise, I know I have to check it out when I'm in town! Although there were mixed reviews online, I've got to say I LOVE every dish served that night. Our server, Charlie, suggested the Chef's Tasting Menu so that we could have a bit of everything and it was the best idea! Can't wait to go back again! Thanks team HP :)
Food was quite slow but everything else was great
Fried chicken and gin mare were the only things I'd order again. Was quite disappointed with the overall experience, inattentiveness of the staff and quality of the eggplant and waffles. They also ran out of the Char Sui.
Having come to Happy Paradise because it was recommended after having been to Ronin and YardBird, I now wouldn't even put them in the same league.
we have been regulars at Little Bao - and since Happy Paradise is from the same family - we wanted to try it. started with a bang- and the sourdhough waffles were spot on and great. followed by the asparagus salad, which was great too. went downhill from there - the impossible Xian Patties were too dry and not great - and especially if you compare it with the impossible bao - selling at little bao 20 mtrs away. the Eggplant dish was the worst as it had no flavor. Again maybe we were biased as we were comparing it to the eggplant salad at LIttle Bao. . . the Apple Crumble was just OK - a little too chewy for us. One big issue was that the music was on too loud, and because of that the people talking over each other was going to another decibel. overall too Noisy towards the end and gave us a headache.
Love the place! Good food, good vibe.
The food was great. The music is a bit too loud. And recommend the waiter can keep some space to the customer.
Very cool space. Really aesthetic food that is unexpected, compelling, and totally delicious
A truly unique and delicious dining experience. I can’t recommend Happy Paradise enough. I am still dreaming about the Fried Chicken. This will definitely go on the “go to” list!
Really enjoyed the food, it was innovative and refreshing to have such dishes that has a mix of western and Asian influences.
A friend and I went for the tasting menu and were served 4 dishes in total which was fewer than expected for a tasting menu. The food was cooked very well and the dishes were very interesting but didn't quite give a punch in terms of flavors and textures so that was a bit of a downer.
Came here for an interview, and it really blew my mind! Food is fresh and creative. Spicy fried chicken and rice with pork(sorry I forgot the name)were my favorite plates. Over all, I really enjoyed the whole experience, especially the interior lighting and decoration. All waitress really took care of customers' need, even the Chef May was helping around. Can't wait to visit this place again.
The first time I came, I was impressed by the menu, which features Cantonese dishes with a difference, and I remembered overall being impressed by the creative flair of the kitchen. That's partly why I decided to take friends from LA to here: they already have easy access to great Chinese food, but I thought that Happy Paradise would offer something that was more distinctly Hong Kong. But while we all enjoyed the ambiance, and the service, the food was fine, but not maybe quite at the level it should have been.
Great vibes, contemporary Chinese food with a twist.
It's always a good time at happy paradise from vibe to drinks to food. love bring friends to visit Happy Paradise when they ask for an unique experience!
The food was excellent - very creative and yet still clearly Asian. The only drawback was that the food was arriving very slowly - it wasn't even the issue with the service but it appears the kitchen is too busy/too slow/too small.
Love this place, the interior design is amazing and the food fantastic. My favorites are def the Snacks and Small plate dishes (the potato spring roll with vinegar onions, the asparagus salad and the aaaaamazing Sichuan Chicken are the dishes I keep wanting to eat) Really great cocktails too and friendly staff with quick service.
A hidden gem in soho. Awesome vibe. Another successful project by Chef May Chow. Innovative dishes and cocktails and superb service provided by the sommelier. Neo-Chinese at its best. Old school Hong Kong music totally made it nostalgic for the locals.
Refreshing take on Cantonese casual dining. Appreciated the attention and time the wait staff and Chef took to explain in detail all the dishes though I'm not sure if the same level of attention would have taken place at peak dining time.
