About Hapa Sushi Grill & Sake Bar - Pearl St. Boulder
The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they're Hapa. We have stretched the boundaries of creativity to develop dishes that defy all the rules while holding true to our roots. We hope that you will find our menu innovative, uninhibited, and distinctly fun! Incomplete parties will not be sat until complete.

Hapa Sushi Grill & Sake Bar - Pearl St. Boulder Ratings and Reviews
This place is always reliable and a step above the run of the mill sushi, although not top tiere. Staff is wonderful and service is speedy. Loud and crowded on weekend nights - seating under the heat lamps on a not too cold night may be an option. The restaurant feels shoe horned into the property so you get to know the folks sitting near you even when you don’t want to. Booked through Open Table and it’s worth the crowd.
I had dinner here with my husband and 2 sisters. It was a busy Friday night so even with reservations we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our table. Because of this they offered us complimentary edamame. They also have a back bar area that is perfect for a cocktail while you wait. There is a wide variety of menu options for every type of person/diet, whether you are gluten free or vegetarian or just do not eat sushi. I highly recommend the Hamachi Crunch roll and if you are interested in a handmade cocktail, the Spicy Enticer is great!
I was really glad we had reservations, as the place was packed and really hopping. We had a very short wait for our table, which we spent in the back bar snacking on complimentary edamame. We all agreed, this was the best sushi/sashimi any of have had in this area. The salads were also really fresh and delicious and the miso soup and mussels were incredible. We will certainly be back.
Hapa was great!! It can get a little crowded and loud, but it's all a part of the atmosphere! Service was prompt and unobtrusive. My friend and I were catching up prior to ordering and chatted for quite a while. Our server read our table really well and let us catch up before asking if we were ready to order. Food as always was fresh. Love Hapa!
Great service and kind to help me with disability. The tables are way too small for the food presented and made for awkward dining especially with children. Cramped tables and noisy. Call me old fashioned but I would go back only if there was more space and lower noise level.
Great food. We ate five different sushi rolls, three appetizers and three different deserts and everything was phenomenal. Waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable. We went on a Saturday night so it was a bit loud (it also happens to be in a downtown college campus area after a college event so that could have contributed), but we still were able to have comfortable conversation. Initially we thought it would be incredibly expensive, but at the end it ended up being pretty fairly priced for everything we ate and the quality. Overall a great experience and I would be happy to return.
