Food and atmosphere were amazing. Our server seemed a little “off” but it was St Patrick’s Day weekend.
We had a great time as always at Hapa. Food is unique and enjoyable. Environment is fun and can get loud for larger groups to hear one another. Small groups it’s no issue.
We've enjoyed Hapa Sushi a lot in the past (see my prior reviews) but this time they just didn't deliver on the experience. Service was slow and I got the sense we were a bother to our server this time. Food was good. Just a disappointing experience - enough to make us want to check out a couple of new sushi places that are as close to us as Hapa Sushi is.
Perfect server food amazing
Server and Sake were very good, and the food was alright: not remarkable for goodness or badness. Prices were also a bit higher than the quality suggests, but not extreme. I’d probably go back after I try most of the other places in town.
Had drunk come into restaurant off street. Instead of asking him to leave he was seated at bar, given a shot of tequila and he annoyed other customers.
I love the mood and the atmosphere at Hapa. We always have such a good time and the staff are so personable. Thanks for everything!
Awesome food and service
Honestly. I would never eat here again. For one the sushi was mushy and bland. It has a sex dungeon vibe which is a little odd. I don't understand what vibe this place is trying to portray..?? First time in Denver and this wasn't our first option but with the weather it was the closest option.. not sad to say it was an extremely distasteful experience.
Took FOREVER to get 2 rolls of sushi...
It was great food but really loud.
Phenomenal sushi, excellent drinks and top notch service. Definitely a winner and a place we will add to our list of favorites.
Waited 45 minutes for our reservation. Two different managers offered to comp round of drinks and two appetizers. Bill came, of course apps were included...asked the waitress and she came back that the manager took care of it and any other issues I could call to get it cleared up??? I can call? okay... Anyway, one appetizer was comped (the less expensive of the two of course). I wouldn't care if they had kept their promise. Why offer to comp two apps if you aren't going to comp them? We didn't even want them, but it was a please "two apps are on us, whatever you want". I would have rather just ordered more sushi then pay for an appetizer I didn't want. Ridiculous, but leave it to them to not honor what they basically forced on us. I guess that is one way they get ya'
Was a great experience!
Celebrating good health and a newly EMT!
Great service good food
Nice happy hour, but too loud to have a conversation.
The food was very good. Service was fast and efficient. overall very good experience. They were running a little late for our reservation and the maître d’ gave us an appetizer on the house while we waited. The only problem is parking. You really have no choice but to valet unless you get lucky and find a spot.
Hapa is always a favorite go to of mine! Get the MONKEY BRAIN!!!
Delicious as usual. On the expensive side, but it is usually consistent as evidenced by my earlier reviews.
Food is always great here. Our waiter is also friendly and informative. But if you want to be able to have a nice conversation with your partner, i suggest to not come here on weekends as it’s always loud and noisy.
we had an awesome time, the waitress was very positive and helpful, loved that they banded 2 chopsticks together for my 4 year old granddaughter so she could use them to eat with, she was a champ with them picking up soy beans, pieces of chicken, vegetables and even tried and enjoyed the calamari. It was a great first time experience for her. We will definitely be going back for more .
Huge thank you to the staff! There were some issues with the valet (attendant was not at his booth) but the staff was super friendly and apologetic about it. They even went out of their way to help me track down the attendant so I could get my car back after dinner. I can't thank them enough for working so hard and being so apologetic about something out of their immediate control. The whole thing could have messed with our experience but the staff helped make our experience even better despite it all. Thanks again to amazing team!
We stopped at Hapa for a quick dinner. We were able to make an online reservation which was helpful because the Hapa in Boulder is difficult to walk in unless you have a reservation. We were promptly seated, our hostess and server were fast and friendly. They gave us the right amount of attention...not too much and not too little. I recommend the Magic Mushrooms as a starter! They are amazing!
Great sushi and great drinks. Environment is fun and casual. Love the creative names of their food! Will be back soon to visit!
we were in denver on the tail end of vacation and we went to hapa because of their reputation dealing with food allergies. my wife has several: gluten, grains, dairy, soy and avocado. hapa is sensational with these types of guests: they have new cutting boards & sterilize all utensils before preparing orders for food allergies. they have an extensive gluten free menu, which includes poke bowls. my wife had an issue with her order and the owner came over, asked to be allowed to fix it and saw her order thru...that is great service. the fish is phenomenal.
Our waitress was Jesica and she was so sweet, attentive, and did her job extremely well. We ordered the ginger pork gyoza and it was phenomenal, so good that we ended up ordering a second round after our entrees were finished. I highly recommend the salmon skin roll! A lovely date night and a lovely waitress. <3
Great sushi stop before a hockey game! Recommended
I just wanted a place to eat before i went out for New Year’s and Hapa 100% rose to the occasion as a quality, fun, and delicious last meal to 2018
Great food with great service, not too expensive!!
Service was very slow because of how busy the restaurant was, but our server was excellent regardless.
Hapa is a fantastic spot! Their sushi menu is filled with creative options, as well as traditional favorites! It’s my go-to for sushi and sashimi in downtown Denver.
I suggested Hapa to a colleague as our end-of-year lunch together. I haven't had lunch here in a while, so the poke bowls were a nice, new touch for me. We had the mixed tuna & yellowtail bowls. I'm still searching Denver Metro for something that looks more authentic from my childhood in Calif. Regardless, these were delicious! I would say that the more authentic poke/poki tends to be drowned in soy sauce marinade, so I appreciated the fact that Hapa's marinade uses less soy and more citrus-y flavoring. I've had bowls where the fish would almost fall apart. The fish in this bowl held together nicely. The presentation with nori flakes, pickled ginger, and slaw was excellent. The LoDo store is deceptively deep in seating, and so I'm still always amazed how packed this place is on the weekends. Props to OpenTable for making the reservations easier! Three cheers for Hapa!
We love sushi and Hapa never fails to deliver. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the fact it can be pretty expensive. On this visit, there was also a mistake on our order but they quickly and correctly rectified and adjusted our bill without us asking or complaining about this error. My wife loves the gluten free menu and I really enjoy the sashimi. My only issue is with their seaweed salad. It is not strictly a seaweed salad, rather it has both seaweed coupled with regular salad. Still tasty but not was I was expecting. In any case, I do recommend this place for sushi.
It's my favorite sushi place in town! And surprisingly Denver has a lot of sushi restaurants, but Hapa is by far the tastiest.
Wonderful sushi, service and try the rice beer! We were impressed by the attention to service.
Love all the Hapas!
Food was great server was fantastic! Lee the manager is great. Nick at the host stand was friendly.
