First of all, Hank's never disappoints! It's on the "must do" list for a trip to Charleston. I highly recommend the oysters, shrimp & grits, and any special feature. This trip, I had the triggerfish special and it was amazing!

Hank’s was the place to have seafood in Charleston. Over the last few dining experiences, it has been increasingly disappointing. The mussels were so fishy I couldn’t eat them. The staple dishes aren’t as good either. Hoping things will turn around back to the way the food was once undeniably the best - anywhere.

Great atmosphere, excellent service. Disappointed with average and overpriced food. Swordfish was dry. Broiled plater was just average at best with very small fish portions. Scallops were larger than the fish portions.

Our party of 3 had wonderful meals at Han k's. My husband and I both ordered Seafood LaWando (I think that's how you spell it?) and it was delicious! Our friend had a broiled seafood dish and was very happy with it. All fish was tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. The service was great too.

Hank's used to be one of my seafood favorites. It has gone downhill. Fish was not carefully prepared. some dishes were overcooked with bland glutinous sauce. Sauteed scallops were tasteless, served with spinach that had not been properly drained, so scallops sat in water. Desserts were mediocre. A sad decline.

Hank's Seafood is a Charleston favorite for anyone who loves seafood. I had a couple who were in Charleston and had not dined at some of the great restaurants so I took them to my favorite. It being restaurant week we each had the three course special and all three dinners were terrific. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful bottle of wine that - as expected - was reasonably priced. Definitely recommend Hank's to everyone.

Hanks is a nice little place near the market, we enjoyed our meal but were disappointed that the food was not he special. Going in for Charleston Restaurant week we will squally receive a new item or special but between the shrimp and grits and buttermilk chicken nothing was more than mediocre. The service was great and we did not have any issues but just hoped for more from this prominent venue.

First time at Hanks on a recommendation from friends. Was worth the visit. We had 3 appetizers and a couple of glasses of wine. The oysters were outstanding as was the tuna tartare. The lump crabcake was excellent. The entree’s were a bit pricey for our budget. Maybe on our next visit. Overall, would highly recommend Hank’s.
