Amazing experience at Hank’s! All of the food was excellent as well as the drinks. Would return in a heartbeat.
I have been to Hank’s many & had different meals each time. Each time has been fantastic. Great service as well.
One of my favorite places in Charleston and does not disappoint! The food and service are always incredible and well worth the cost.
We have been to Hank's for the second time in as many trips to Charleston. Great restaurant and food. We have ordered the seafood both times, but the woman seated next to us ordered the fried chicken. It look delicious. We will have to try that dish the next time. The noise level was a little loud so this is not the place to go for a quiet dinner. The atmosphere was great.
Always a great time. Had the seafood tower and the flounder. Top notch food and fair prices.
Superb all around! Service, food, ambiance.
Noisy but fun. Impeccable service and food. Always consistently fresh seafood.
Very nice, high-end restaurant with great food. Only two "faults". First is that it was noisy, hard to have a conversation. Second, the seating was not "personal". Tables for two were in rows with maybe 18 inches between them - not very private or romantic. I guess they had to make the best of the space they had though.
The food was just ok.
Hanks has a menu with many options. The food is delicious! The servers are attentive and friendly. The portions are substantial!! You will leave quite satisfied. Highly recommend it.
Our go to location every time we visit Kiawah/Charleston!!!
Hank's is my favorite seafood restaurant in Charleston. It will not disappoint!
On a mini vacation to Charleston we went to Hanks to celebrate our 40th anniversery. Service was very efficient. We both had the She crab soup. Very tasty, could have been a bit hotter. Wife had crab crakes which she really enjoyed. I had one of the house specials, seafood al a Wando. Collection of scallops, shrimp, various fish, mushrooms cooked in a sauce over a grit cake. Excellent!
Great seafood variety - great for couples or families - would go back
Sat at the bar and were served by Zach, a real pro. Lots of interaction between patrons at the bar most of whom had dinner. Great drinks and food. Lots of energy
Best meal while in Charleston!
Hanks is a go to for consistently great seafood. Had the grouper and the Wando and both were delicious. Love their risotto and grit cakes too. If you want an awesome meal that won’t break the bank, I recommend Hank’s.
This was one of my favourite (ever) evenings.
The ambiance is great. It is lively without there being an overwhelming noise. The service was second to none, and finally the food was just awesome!
Would recommend it to anyone (that liked seafood!)
We thought it was a "nicer" restaurant, so we got dressed up. We were seated at a small table for two squeezed in between two other tables of two - felt like a table of 6 where you don't know the other four. One of our "neighbors" was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and sandals. Not a decorated t-shirt, just a plain white underwear-type t-shirt. Service was robotic. Clearly they cater to tourists and try to get them in and out quickly. Not a place to take a date.
Food was fantastic. Had the steamed clams in white wine sauce and she-crab soup. The bread was amazing and was perfect with both dishes.
Great experience! Food was amazing. Get the crab cakes you won’t regret it.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Nice casual atmosphere but a little on the loud side. Fortunately not loud enough to prevent conversation. I’d go back for sure.
Excellent local seafood, creative cocktails, and an outstanding pecan pie. The service was attentive without feeling like we were being rushed to turn tables.
Spectacular experience overall. Would rate top in Charleston.
Delicious food. Great service. It was just a bit noisy. Definitely recommend for food and service. Great location off of Market.
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. A little noisy but not too bad. Would recommend highly.
We were in Charleston for our Nephews ring ceremony at the Citadel so we chose Hanks for our special dinner everything was great and the service was outstanding
My friend and I were 10-15mins late and the staff was very accommodating and kept our reservation. The food was fresh and perfect in taste: we shared 1/2 dozen oysters and (and wished we had ordered the dozen instead), mussels for starters and scallops for main dish. We both had a cocktail each: I had the Fleur de Lis, if you like cucumber then order this one. Our server was attentive at the same time didn’t hover or rush us. Everything was perfect and I already want to go again!
We had our last dinner in Charleston at Hanks and it was lovely! The atmosphere was great and everything from the oysters, muscles and fish entree was delicious. Paired with fabulous service and a lovely staff we really enjoyed our dinner at Hanks!
We had a very nice evening. Our server was excellent and food great. Only issue was the noise level. The dining room is a large open space, so very loud. I would suggest trying to get a booth or table along the outside, it may not be as loud and a little more private. We had a table for two in middle of room. Enjoy!
Way too noisy as multiple boisterous tables of 8 (golf groups? Convention friends?) negatively affected everything else. It is a noisy place to begin with but this latest visit was unpleasant. Couldn’t hear my companion across a small table.
The food was delicious as always, and the service was friendly and helpful.
Visiting from out of town. Cocktails and food were excellent!
Hank’s seemed very much the typical “tourist trap” restaurant. Food and service were good enough, but nothing put it over the top.
Birthday dinner for my brother. He has never eaten at Hank's and this was his first time. Everyone in our group had the best meal ever. Hank’s has never disappointed.
The quality of both our meals was five star. The only reason for the four stars was the somewhat small portions relative to the rather high price. The shrimp and grits and bouillabaisse were both well prepared.
The food was quite good and the staff were all very pleasant. Our server Jessica was awesome. If the rating went as high as 10, she crushed it.
I was disappointed this time. Hanks has always been a go to for seafood but this time the broiled shrimp were dry and over seasoned with Old Bay. Maybe they just had an off night.
The food was good but noise level was too loud. Good staff.
We came here for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. My husband said it might just be the best meal he’s ever had.
