Hank's Seafood Restaurant

Have not been to Hanks in a few years but I was in town and needed to take some clients to dinner. It did not disappoint. Service was impeccable and the every salad, entree, and desert that we were served was spot on. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend for business or a nice dinner with family or friends.

I was there on Monday night. Not very busy. I ordered the tuna special. The tuna was great but what was underneath the tuna was horrible

Excellent food, service, and affordable prices. Very noisy, tables crowded too close together.

Whenever we visit Charleston, we make a point to dine at Hank's. Never disappointed.

As always Hank's Seafood is a home run, we eat there 3 or 4 times a yr and have never had a bad meal.

It's the best seafood restaurant in Charleston period. Many other great restaurants but Hank's is the best.

Nice venue, good ambience, staff was very attentive. Have been there before and the experience then was very good, thus the return visit. Only issue was part of the fish we ordered was cold - odd as it looked cooked, but it was cold (like in a refrigerator), but not the entire portion we were served was cold. Not sure how that happened - maybe we got a small piece, so they added a little to the portion that was extra....quality, taste, timing, etc was all very good, but there was a strip of cold (cooked) fish on the plate. Still - food was very good, everyone was very attentive, and we had a very good meal, just not up to par with 2 other meals on our visit.

She crab soup is a must! The shrimp and grits were over the top. We loved this restaurant d plan to return when we are in Charleston’s historic district again!

Once again an awesome meal at Hanks! We were lucky to have Luca as our server - he is so great - and always makes it extra special! Out favorite Charleston place!

Great Birthday dinner.

My crab cakes and salad were excellent. My husbands dinner was not. The grouper had a strong fishy taste and he felt his crab cake lacked flavor.

Luca was our server and he was outstanding. Not only did he perform his job very well, he was very insightful and helped us learn more about Charleston culinary and knew some of our Chefs back in Birmingham like Frank and Pardis Stit.

He was a pleasure to have as our server!

I had salmon and my wife had lobster. The lobster was so bad, she couldn’t even eat it. Very low quality and likely just frozen for some time. Definitely not fresh. Salmon also tasted as if it has been frozen. Little flavor. Pecan pie was below average. Just the worst meal I’ve had in some time. Really questioning the high reviews for this place. I do not recommend.

Hanks has outstanding food and the service is the best in the city (the best in most cities). I've been several times and have never been disappointed. Prices are reasonable considering its high end dining.

Was so good, we changed our reservations from a different restaurant so we could eat there a second night during our trip.

Best shrimp and grits in downtown Charleston! We enjoy taking family and friends and are always guaranteed to have a delicious dinner. It is quite loud but the atmosphere is vibrant and joyful. Hanks is a must dine at restaurant in Charleston. Great wine list also. The crab soup was wonderful!

Service was good, we arrived too early but it was no problem. Food was good, Thanks giving type, so next time it will be sea food !

When we walk through the door it was as if we walked into another dimension. I love the relaxed feel of this place I definitely would return to try more dishes. The grouper was amazing. The conversations were great and service was well-timed and friendly. I could hardly wait until our next visit. If you have not eaten at Hanks you’re missing an extraordinary experience. Love it.
