Came here with my dad and we both loved it. We're seafood snobs and Hank's exceeded our expectations. Great drinks, too!

We were on our way to a show at the JCC so we were very glad that the service was efficient and the food came quickly to our table. The bar was crowded and noisy, but we were seated in the quieter dining area where we could have a pleasant conversation. The fall salad, with pear, goat cheese and a light dressing, was very satisfying with a side of crabcake.

One of my favorite places for lunch- the food is tasty and waiters make you feel welcome. Hence, it is a great experience every time. It became one of my favorite spots in town for business lunch.

Excellent! We hadn’t been in quite a while, and have decided we need to work Hanks in on a regular basis going forward. Beautiful oysters and excellent entrees. In a town full of great restaurants, Hanks earns its spot!

Went there for brunch and we had a plate of each available oyster, the smoked trout hash and short rib hash. The smoked trout was excellent though it was just a pinch salty. The short rib hash came out without short rib and we got another one loaded up. It was okay, and not what I fully expected flavor-wise from the meat. It seemed more like roasted/shredded chuck roast. Being hash I was desiring more flavor instead of eggs, on top of meat, on top of roasted potatoes. Should have gone for the pork belly dish! Overall it was a decent experience, a little pricey, though I’d give it another shot

Hank’s is casual and lively. The tables were tightly packed. We had the fresh east coast oysters. They were delicious. We also had the sea scallops and lobster roll. Again, both excellent. It was a bit pricey but a great option.

Hank’s never ceases to impress. The oysters are always delicious and are sourced from prime waters throughout the region and country. We love their lobster roll as well. The ambiance is classy but casual. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We make a point to stop at Hanks whenever we are in town!

Hank's is fine if you reject the host's effort to seat you in the charmless, claustrophobic upstairs room. It's like dining in a windowless bus station waiting room, just louder, drunker and with poorer service. Jamie Leeds needs to seriously rethink shunting customers to that awful space. We had reservations and were hosting out of town guests; it was embarrassing. Food was good enough.

My girlfriend and I came to Hank’s on a date night. I had the scallop special and my girlfriend had the salmon special. The food was cooked perfectly. This is not the cheapest seafood you will get in the city but it is a great value when you consider the precision of the cooking and the overall experience of the restaurant.

So blessed that this is a local restaurant. We love oysters and go at least twice a month as they are always changing their fresh, fresh oysters. Thank you Hanks....PS - the drinks are fun!

The food was amazing. We shared a seafood plateau, Caesar salads, and French fries. The French fries were great with the horseradish sauce that comes with the seafood. The platter offered a nice variety. You will need to order more if you are pretty hungry though. Our only complaint was the service was not excellent. Overall, amazing food, great patios, and a great price.

We where seated in a corner table next to the door to the patio and often the servers will slam the door against the glass which was very startling... Also we were within inches of another table so it was as if we were part of their conversation.
Crab cakes where decent... ceviche was good on flavor but it was all calamari... Mac and cheese was obviously reheated in the microwave... to hot to eat.. overall it made for an average experience and probably will not return..

Ordered a bottle of Champagne and got two glasses. Issue was quickly addressed. Ordered a BIG sea food platter for $75. Sea food was good but not that “big”.
The bill came...no pen. The couple on the table next to us had to ask for a pen as well and pass the pen to us. No desert on the menu...time to flip the table to the next people.

Hank’s could make the indoor dining experience there a lot more enjoyable by losing just a few tables. No matter where I’ve sat, I always find myself being jostled throughout the meal. But the food is good and the ingredients are quality. The waiter was totally on mark and knew what he was doing. The fried oysters were outstanding, and they quickly adjusted the recipe for my mussels to accommodate my requests. The drinks are well made/presented and there is a good wine selection. It is a high quality neighborhood restaurant that makes you want to return. So, I guess it is just the overinflated DC dining experience costs that leaves me puzzled and grumbling to myself as I walk home - how could 4 mid priced shots of bourbon, a shared appetizer, two orders of mussels and a moderately priced bottle of wine plus 20% tip set me back $220?

Our first visit. Ate outside. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Fried oysters were good - a little heavy on the breaking but tasty. Fries & coleslaw were good but could have shared. Lobster bisque was delicious. Highly recommend the bisque. Next time, the small plates would be my choice.

Great neighborhood restaurant with friendly service, great menu, and great beer. We were seated immediately upstairs and the waiter came immediately to our table to take our drink order. The wine list is a bit sparse, but the Sancerre was perfectly paired with the oysters. A great place for everyday dining or special event with friends or family.

Small selection of oysters, reasonably priced and personal choice was tasty. Shared a pear salad that was okay - pears were not very ripe or very tasty. Griddle crabcake had more filling than crab meat and was a bit over done, which was disappointing. Dining companion had a cocktail on the rocks that was pretty skimpy for the price. Noise level was pretty high and you couldn't help hearing conversations next to you because the tables are mighty close to each other. Our waitress was knowledgable on selections of food and beverage and was very attentive. All that said, it was a good meal and I might return when I'm in the area again.
