This is a great restaurant I go there almost every week. Monday night the food was cold and overall just a bad experience. I still give this restaurant high ratings. One bad experience out of at least 45 or more times dinning there is not bad. I will still recommend this restaurant.
Surpringly affordable burgers with some higher end options as well. Quality sandwiches even though the ciabatta bread overtook my short rib.
Loud, energetic and Scottsdale-vibe environment.
Waiter was inattentive and forgot menu items. Service rushed cleaning off our drinks before they were finished, We chose to stay silent and just not come back.
Food was great. Love 1/2 price Tuesday!
It was the first time for. Us at this restaurant and we enjoyed it. Our waiter, Cody, was great and we enjoyed the burgers.
Service was outstanding! Had California burger and it was delicious. Daughter had Mac and cheese with crab meat and also thought her meal wonderful!
Excellent food - we enjoyed the outside patio area but the interior is cool too
It is definitely a fun place to go to my son who is 20 years old loved everything on the menu. He is usually a very picky eater. Crowd is for 20s and 30s. Enjoyed the fries with vinegar and salt.My husband loved the pork chop. The halibut is a little bland needs to be marinated a little bit overall good food will definitely come back!
Absolutely the WORST crab cakes I've ever eaten. They were dry, tasteless and way overcooked. Obviously NOT a restaurant for seafood.
Was told hand cut is a must try, & we had it on our list. Went for the atmosphere & delicious food! Amazing service was a perk, always makes date night a little more special with a great server who had recommended great food & cocktails
Outstanding menu, service and atmosphere... add it to your list of must visit places in Old Town Scottsdale - especially on half cut Tuesday!
The food was AMAZING and our server was fabulous. We had the best time here and will definitely be back.
My friends and I dined in celebration of my college graduation. Cocktails were delicious and the food was very good. Inside was quite noisy so we sad outside. Service was kind but could have been faster. Overall a good place to dine but not stellar.
I am not a huge fan of all a cart. I want fries to come with my burger, it shouldn't be an extra cost. The food and drinks were very good though.
In a word; meh. We went on Monday, which was Columbus Day, at lunchtime and they were moderately busy at most. Our server was nice and took our drink orders promptly but they took forever to get delivered (2 glasses of wine and a cocktail). In the meantime he can back and brought us water and we placed an appetizer order of zucchini sticks. We finally got our drinks and placed our entree orders. We asked but still no app. We weren’t in a hurry so no big deal. 5-10 minutes later, we ask again. Our server leaves and comes back with our entrees. Still no app.
Our food was fair; my chicken melt sandwich was very good (and yes I know this is a hamburger joint). My son’s burger was fine but my wife’s steak salad was a poor cut of meat; kind of a low-grade carne asada. I will say that I asked for a side of cole slaw and even though it’s not on the menu ( which I did not realize) they made one up from scratch and it was very good.
Then our App came!!!!!
So all in all, decent, bit not great. A sold C
Ordered new item, crab Mac n cheese. It was awful. They did take it off the bill.
Very good food and cocktails first time visit and we will return
Fun place, good vibe and great drinks and service. Great for watching a game. Appetizers- beet burrata and tempura zucchini very tasty. Burger was excellent but pork chop and filet just OK. Not moist enough and needed a bit more flavor. I would go with burger all the way!
The new menu is great, and the half price entrees on Tuesday are a great deal. Our server was terrific. She knew the menu, and directed us to things of interest.
The steaks were delicious. However the service was really slow. It took a long time for our order to be taken. Than it took even longer for our food to be delivered. Worst of all our drinks came after our food. I know the place is relatively new. Hopefully they will get there act together because the food is so good
The food and atmosphere were wonderful. It was a great place to take my family that traveled two days to visit. While the value may not be that great, it was still a great experience and made for a memorable evening!
Amazing as usual. This restaurant never lets you down. Great service. Great food. Great drinks.
Our reserved table was not ready in time. Rather than being rude, they gave us free drinks and appetizers out front while we waited. Fantastic service and food.
The service was absolutely excellent! We went early (5:30 PM) and they were out of the side we wanted, but they had plenty of others to choose from. I had a filet and it was cooked to the exact temperature I requested and the cut was very good, lean and tender without almost no gristle. It would have been better with a little basting though as it was very dry until you got into the middle. We had mashed potatoes and they were okay, but without much flavor. My husband had a burger and it was again, okay but again, not much flavor. Because of the service and the cleanliness of this restaurant, we would definitely try them again and try other things on their menu. Definitely worth a try!
Food took about 2-3 times longer than normal on an afternoon with very few in restaurant. Hamburgers were ok chicken sandwiches and salads not good.
I had just the basic burger and loved every savory bit. Also had the asparagus and loved it as well.
Excellent burgers. We had their classic and the mushrooms one, equally very good. Highly recommend their teriyaki fried zucchini as an appetizer and as a side order of salt and vinegar fries and their Brussels sprouts. They have a nice wine list, decent priced. I was not impressed with the dessert menu. All in all it was an excellent experience.
Been to Handcut a number of times and this time was a real disappointment. Food was subpar. Had to send a medium rare steak back for being extremely well done. Rather than apologizing, the manager challenged us that the steak was overdone and offered to buy us a desert. Since we didn't eat the steak, it should not have been on the bill. It was. There are other restaurant options that will treat you better.
Called to ask about noise level and was told quiet and conversation would be no problem. Ha! Had to sit outside to talk. Dont go if you don’t want to shout!!!
This a great place to go for birthdays and groups! The waitresses were nice and ended up giving us some of our orders of fries for free! Those fries were bomb. The burger was great and you could tell the food was high quality. The ambiance was cool and the birthday sparkler is huge! Everyone in the group enjoyed it.
Not a great beer selection. Food was expensive. Good service
Loved the food. Service was great. Noise level was probably a notch greater than what I would prefer but my wife and I had no trouble having a conversation
Ok is about the best I can say. Too loud, server was so so and the food, while ok, was overpriced for what you get. I did like the salt and vinegar fries - that’s why they got three stars on food.
The steak was dry and stringy. I see why everything on the menu lists garlic butter. They need to slather their cheap dry meats with some fat or liquid to make them palatable. At 5:30pm they were already out of some of the sides listed. Though I had reserved a table with "regular" seating, they didn't have it when we arrived, so we sat at high narrow hard seats that can't be positioned comfortably because of the "grass" rug under them. There are much better restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. Skip this one.
Went on a double date here. The service and food was great. 🙌🏽 Sweet potato fries!
My only complaint would be it was pretty loud inside.
Our 2nd time visiting Hand Cut Burgers & Chophouse for lunch. I had the grass-fed jalapeño burger & my wife had the chopped salad with salmon. Our orders arrived quickly & both entrees were excellent! We shared an order of salt & vinegar fries. They are so flavorful & totally addicting. Kelly was our waitress & she was friendly, attentive & sweet. Wish they weren’t so far away for us. We’ll definitely be back!
Food is usually more consistent but it was good. Normally it is excellent. The service as always is very good and they make good cocktails.
Great food, atmosphere, and a great D. J.
We went there for our Anniversary! Liked the food, service and thought the restaurant looked like an upscale burger and chop place. However, the waitstaff looked like they just crawled out of bed an grabbed whatever was in a pile of clothes and came to work. Torn jeans, workout bra tops, dirty shoes. I known torn jeans are the rage, but not my idea of clothes for a restaurant like this one.
Got a Happy Anniversary when we sat down and nothing else! Therefore, my friends would not want to go there for any celebration 🍾
