Great place for family meals or just the two of you. Wonderful sushi and Texan.
When we arrived, I said we have a reservation for 6:45 and the hostess said we don’t have any more reservations for tonight. When I said we made them through Open Table she said we don’t work with them. We did get seated because it wasn’t crowded at all but the experience with the hostess was what set the tone for the rest of the meal. I won’t be going back.
This is the 2nd time to this restaurant exactly one week later. The first time we sat at the hibachi. The ambiance is bad due to stacked boxes around the room. We felt like we were sitting in a partial storage closet.
This time we sat in the front part of the restaurant and ordered from the hibachi. The ambiance was much improved. There is a however though! It appeared that children of employees or owner were literally "camped" out with their blankets and toys in the booth right by the hostess stand at the front door. The kids were well behaved but again it's not something I want to see when we are dining out - especially on a weekend night.
In summary, the food is very good. It's a little lacking in our opinion on ambiance. Such easy fixes too.
Great entertainment and great food!
Our first time - the hibachi experience was the same ole bag of tricks but we don't go for that. We go for the freshness and taste of the food. Our food was excellent! The bibb lettuce salad was very fresh and soup tasteful. We ordered our steak medium rare and it was more medium but the flavor was great. The service and ambiance left much to be desired. The server seemed like he didn't want to be there. No smiles, no warmth and slow. The front of the restaurant's vibe is good. The hibachi area felt like a storage closet. There were boxes piled up on two sides of the room. We did not like that at all! We will go back for the food but perhaps request a hibachi in the other room. I couldn't tell for sure but it looked like there wasn't anything piled along the walls like in our room. Hibachi isn't inexpensive - one should get the entire dining experience and that includes the overall vibe of the room.
Slow service food not that good
Family went to enjoy a Hibachi dinner for a birthday celebration. The food was great, the chef was entertaining. I wish portions were a little larger. The service could have been better once the cooking started. Had to run down a server for drink refills several times.
Food was good. Service was lacking a little granted it was new years eve and the place was packed. My only frustration was we made a reservation for 730 however when we got to the restaurant we had to wait an addtl 40 minutes. from our reserved time. It was a bit frustrating as the reason we were give was due to a lot of other reservations.. which basically meant our we were on a waiting list just like walk ins.
Way too busy New Year's eve led to wait 30 minutes past reservation time.
Considering it was new years eve and a special night with your spouse it turned nice food was nice good cook very entertaining price higher than advertising but it was special time
Great food and entertaining chef!
The food is mediocre, at best. Service was the same. Bartender actually came over and asked why we were sitting at a 6-top as a party of 4. We advised him to ask the hostess as we didn’t specify what type of table we’d like. In addition, the tables felt a bit greasy as did the menus (yuck!). We don’t plan to return as there is better hibachi/sushi and service nearby. Wanted to like this place, but left feeling disappointed.
We were there for our daughter’s birthday. We had almost finished our soup when they placed 6 more people at our table. Ugh! That is way too late to add people. We had to wait for them to get situated, order drinks, decide on food, get their salads and soups and then the chef came out for main course cooking. That is not good service at all!!! They had other tables to put them at. Plus, they were super slow with drink refills and even made my daughter share the bday song with a guy from the other party. (He wore the hat even though we were there way before them?) We won’t go back. It was very sad!
We were surprised to learn we know the owner from a previous restaurant!
The show was awesome. The food was delicious. Definitely will go again. We went for my husband and sons birthday. They came out and sang. It was fun.
The entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The service was superb as was the chef who was skilled and very entertaining. All of the food was prepared properly and was hot and delicious. Very pleased with our dining experience.
Food was good but service was bad. They were very busy due to homecoming parties in the hibachi area that evening , so we were seated in the main dining area. Our service was poor- the food was brought out but after that, she never came to check up on us, refill water, ask for more drinks. Spilled a drink, asked for help and no one came to help. We ended up finding napkins from another table and a container of silverware/napkins against the wall to clean up. We are very tolerant of things happening but we were not in the hibachi area where all the homecoming kids were. We talked to our server, voiced our concerns but she just said we are very busy. The managers (or the owners ) seemed also disinterested in what went on. Then on top if it they automatically put a 20% tip. We are typically very good tippers but I think 20% was high for such substandard service. Unfortunately this was our first visit and would have to question returning again.
Sushi was somee of the best I've had in flower mound. Service was great. Ramen was also really good. Will definitely be back.
Love this restaurant. Great quality food for a modest price. This is our favorite hibachi restaurant in the DFW area.
Service was poor, food was salty and they are using the dining room for a storage area. Who want to go to a restraint and look at tons of boxes and carts. Won’t be back.
Greatest hibachi in FM.
Our food was not seasoned as well as hibachi meals we have had before. Our experience was okay to good, not great. It was a little pricey for the end result.
The food was delicious. The service was great. They really make the Birthday person feel special.
Loved!!! So clean, food was amazing, staff was so friendly! Everything came out so quick and I honestly had some of the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. Was incredibly impressed and would highly recommend :)
Great show and great food! We all enjoyed both a lot!
Very Nice Location. Great Service. Amazing Hibachi.
Had the sushi menu only, not hibachi this time. Fresh and good. Will be back for more.
I would have given a higher rating and here is why I did not. I have dined here 5 times all for hibachi. The food and the chef are very good . But the service is spotty. 3 out of 5 times dining there, they were out of the wine list item that we desired. They always offer a substitute that's not on the wine list. They claim that its a better value but hard to really know. But better than no wine! The glasses that the waiter brought were dirty. Lipstick on the rims of 2 of 4 of them. Waiter apologized and went to replace them. It took longer than it should have and 2 of us that had glasses and could have started drinking politely waited for the our fellow diners replacements. When the replacements arrived, one was still dirty, same problem, lipstick on rim. The waiter offered to replace it but I didn't want to wait again so I showed her the correct way to finish cleaning a wine glass, using my napkin and suggested that she pass this along to the glass cleaner. All kind of frustrating.
My 7 year old's birthday dinner of choice . He had a wonderful time. They made him feel extra special on his birthday.
Came here for a family get together and the service was great! There were not many people in the restaurant, but the food came out very fresh.
Took my mom here for Mother’s Day. Great food—a little pricey, but really good.
Mother’s Day dinner
This is one of my favorite places to eat out and maintain clean eating/low carb. We sit at the hibachi for special occasions and also the dine-in area where you can order off the hibachi menu but it's less expensive without the entertainment experience. I love the teryaki chicken and veggies, my husband likes the steak and shrimp, my adult son who travels to Japan says the sushi is very good and he should know. Service is efficient and friendly and it's got a happening kind of vibe on the weekends. Highly recommend!
Great sushi, we had a creative roll with a lemon mustard sauce that was amazing! Service, however, was nonexistent. We had to track down our server more than once. And we were the only table in the Sushi side of the restaurant.
We came here because we called ahead and were told they were able to make many sushi rolls and dishes gluten-free. When we were seated, our server did not even understand the word gluten, which immediately frustrated us. Fortunately, the server replaced herself with someone who was more helpful in working with us to figure out what my wife could have.
Ultimately, there are a decent number of the rolls that could be made gluten-free, other than obviously the fried ones. They provided a bottle of tamari at the table for us. All sashimi was gluten-free also. All of the spicy rolls were gluten free and very delicious. They were able to make hibachi chicken and vegetables with fried rice (using the tamari) but they lacked much flavor since they could not provide the sauces and only seasoned the dish with salt and pepper.
Note: They do not have any real crab in-house, so despite the menu using crab, crab meat, and crab stick, its all imitation crab meat which contains gluten. Also, they have no gluten-free salad dressings, so salad was not an option.
The next time we are in the mood for sushi and don't want to go downtown or to Ft. Worth to places we know have gluten-free options, we will give this another try.
Great food and the staff of friendly.
We took our granddaughter and a friend and they had a great time! Our chef gave them a fabulous experience. We will definitely be back!
Loved the eggplant Parmesan and the way that it was presented!
I will definitely order it again the next time we are in town!
I am a real fan of eggplant!
We had a wonderful time. Food was good. Lots of fun. Birthday ice cream with candle and hat was great. Beer was nice and cold.
Was fun! Went for daughter’s birthday at her request. Always a good time and decent value for the show.
