We are located in an historic home built in 1840, located in old town Fairfax City. Hamrock's Restaurant makes American food, using fresh ingredients and whenever possible our dishes are made to order. We have a great wine list with many selections to enhance your dining experience. About 80% of our menu is or can be made gluten free, we use only canola or olive oil in all of our cooking. We have fried chicken, meatloaf and crab cakes all made gluten free. Other menu favorites include: Deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, fried green tomatoes, warm beet salad, roasted pork tenderloin with Dijon cream, shrimp and grits and penne pasta with Andouille sausage and shrimp. We have great outside seating on our wrap around porch or in the courtyard.
We also have private rooms for Business Dinners or other special occasions.

Dinner at Hamrock's is always great. I have multiple food allergies, and can eat there well and safely! We sat outside in the back last evening, enjoying the weather. Our service was a bit slow, and our server a bit inattentive for a Wednesday evening. It was the first time my guests had dined there. They enjoyed the food and ambiance. We'll be back!

Lovely restaurant. We had early dinner so was surprised when our server seated us in a room and didn't check on us throughout our visit. I had to get up and walk around the restaurant to find someone to bring water, pepper, napkins. Outdoor seating is nice but my allergies are horrible this year so was unable to enjoy that aspect. Would try brunch as I hear it is nice.

Our server was very nice, but most of our food was cold or not cooked as requested (I.e. NY Strip was cold and Blue vice Med Rare; Mahi Mahi was minimally seasoned vice blackened; the Asparagus and broccoli were woody and cold). Unfortunately, it was disappointing and we won’t go back in the future.

This is the first time ever in my life where I have been unable to eat the food served. Absolutely no flavor at all in any of the dishes, the ingredients seemed like they were store bought and left to sit out. It was really, really bad. I would not recommend this restaurant in any way.

This was my first time at Hamrock's and I enjoyed it. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I asked for a private table was given one in a relatively quite area of the restaurant. My only negative comment -- if there is one -- is that the liquor selection seems limited to beer and wine, although they do seem to have some pre-prepared mixed drinks that I did not fully understand. But if you want a pre-dinner martini, this it not the place to go.

So happy we tried this restaurant for brunch. Food was delicious, nice large portions, ordered the 2 eggs, bacon, home fries and pancakes. Love the homemade donuts they served to our table. Mimosas were delicious. We will definitely be back.

Food was fantastic as always. I could go there and eat just the popovers. My only negative was the laughing and shouting coming from a group of young women across the small room. I didn't speak to management about it, though. People need to be considerate of their fellow diners.

Great option when half of your party has Celiac disease and needs to eat gluten free and the other half does not have any food restrictions. We all had a great meal topped off with a fabulous chocolate mousse cake! We drove from Montgomery County and will definitely make the trip again!

It was nice to have the choice of this sweet restaurant in Fairfax, rather than having to venture downtown for a terrific meal. We went to Hamrock's for our anniversary & I enjoyed one of their regular Sunday night lobster special. My husband had crab-stuffed shrimp over saffron risotto. Both were wonderful. Everything was simple & elegant in an understated way, which is just what we were hoping for. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking on site.

We visited late Saturday morning for a casual brunch. Ample seating inside the converted historic house that provides a rather unique ambiance. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, a brunch platter, and the breakfast quesadilla. All the food was presented well and tasted good, although each dish seemed to be room temperature instead of warm or even hot. Sangria and mimosa seemed somewhat weak to my dining companion, although we appreciated the savoryness of the blackberry sage sangria. Service was unobtrusive and timely throughout the meal. The total bill amounted to just under $70 including tax. We could return in general even if we might not necessarily rush to have a reason to do so.
