The lobster omelette is great! I really enjoyed the hashbrowns with kale and quinoa too. Nice decor and perfect for brunch.
The hostess never checked open table from the time we made our reservation and when we arrived 30 minutes later and was surprised when we got there expecting a table at our reservation time. She said some nonsense that open table doesn’t guarantee you a reservation. We explained that the point of open table is to make a reservation in real time without having to call the restaurant and that it shouldn’t show available reservation times if they aren’t actually available. Her manager was equally lacking common sense. Their yelp page says they’re “good for kids” but we got the feeling that they didn’t want us there with our kids. We saw that there were tables available that they could have made accommodations for us but clearly weren’t willing. We left and went elsewhere. I’ll never return to this place, with or without my kids.
The sad truth is I never got inside the restaurant, so the scores reflect that I wasn't there. The internet said that they have lunch and dinner valet parking. That was important to me. I pulled up and didn't see a valet. I called the restaurant and asked about valet and he said there is free parking in the back. So I drove around the block, got to the back of the restaurant and there was one spot left in the lot and people were parked tandem with one car parked behind the other. My friend who was not far away could not have parked. So I went to the restaurant across the street and called to cancel my reservation. This section of Sherman Oaks is very crowded and parking is problematic if the restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot or a valet attendant.. I counted on the information shared on the internet, and it was incorrect. I wish them the best, he was nice on the phone, but it didn't work out.
we went for an early Sunday morning breakfast...9 of us had the place to ourselves!! food was awesome...can't wait to go back for lunch!
Service could have been much better
The restaurant looked nothing like the photos online. It was strange and smoky. None of my party would return.
They need to approach the tables more often. Service was one of the worst I have ever encountered.
Joanne is the best waiter and the ambiance was chill. Great brunch or breakfast spot. They have valet so don't worry about searching for parking.
Super cute place, but it’s like an enclosed patio (that’s where we were seated, anyway) so it was a little cold. Service was attentive, menu had lots of variety, and the food was great!
Great place for yummy food, fun atmosphere, and the best unlimited mimosas I have ever had.
Very slow, disorganized service. Took over 15 minutes to get cups of plain coffee for three people. Food for the table came out at different times. Their prices say high end, the $7 valet says high end, but the service & timing fell very short.
Waited for an order and the kitchen still had not put our order in. Never going back.
Didn't realize you could smoke the long pipes there.
It's like sitting in someone's backyard. Even though the restaurant is under cover, it is basically an outdoor space with awnings and propane heaters. We shared an order of buffalo-style wings and then I had a lobster roll. It was excellent; butter-poached lobster claw meat in a traditional grilled hot dog bun served with a generous portion of seasoned fries. My lunch date had the mussels. She was expecting a white wine, garlic sauce; instead the mussels were in a tomato based sauce which she enjoyed. They were served with a generous portion of frites.
The menu has a page devoted to lobster dishes and includes daily specials. There is an extensive beer and cocktail list. I recommend it and will visit again.
While the food was great, and the hookah was decent, the service wasn’t as good as I’ve experienced before. We still had a good time with friends, but our table of 4 needed water, and hot water for teas long before our server came to check on us. We were approached by our server only twice during our 2.5 hour stay.
It would have been a much better experience for us all if the service was better, and it didn’t leave us feeling forgotten by our server.
Our server was nice, but my meal came out incorrect and had to be redone. The ambiance is very lively and the food is good. The one thing we really didn't like was that it was way to hot and we were sweating during our brunch.
It could be better. Tables were wobbly and the service was just okay. Over priced drinks for what you get.
I wish I had read the reviews and not just looked at the pictures and description at the top of the page. This is essentially an outdoor venue with a roof on it -- NOT AIR CONDITIONED, and only standing space heaters. On a 96 degree day, I never would have picked it if this were mentioned up front in the description!
Service was very very slow, people at the table next to us had a large dog that lunged at everyone who came in with a dog (which was lots of people -- maybe why it was busy on such a hot day?). I love dogs and don't mind eating next to them, but they need to be well-behaved. Also it was very loud - could barely talk to my companion across a small table without having to shout. Food was good, but not worth all the negatives.
it was very hot-misters were not working that well, i was melting-not only that but the service was very slow, not friendly & the food was awful. I had steak & i literally couldn’t even eat it was so dry. horrible experience. i loved this place but today was very nad
Great atmosphere and food. The servers were a bit overwhelmed, but that’s probably due to the brunch rush. Great little getaway in the Sherman Oaks area.
Had a reservation for brunch, but they still made us wait. Only gave us one menu took 10 minutes to bring a second one. Food was ordinary and unlimited Mamosa‘s were pre-mixed with not a lot of champagne. Will not be going back.
The food was good and the ambiance was different but the service was a little slow. We wanted bottomless mimosas but the time was up by the time they got back around to us.
Honestly I feel very misled by both the menu and especially the pictures of this eatery. Everything felt thrown together, outdated and sad looking - including the menus and cleanliness. Extremely disappointed.
Weird decor / Didn’t realize it was a hookah bar.
There is no air conditioning it felt like 100 degrees, poor service, bad food
This is a really cute restaurant. Exterior doesn’t do it justice, very cute funky open floor plan and vibe. It was a bit warm, even with myst machines and fan. The food was really delicious and the service was great.
The food was cold and over cooked.
This is more low key Cancun than Hamptons. I think if I’d had that expectation I’d be more inclined to rate it better. Wasn’t the vibe I was looking for, but if you want an interesting outdoor, beach dive experience in the heart of the Valley, give it a shot.
awesome athmosphere in a beautiful bar setting outdoors lover
Great brunch, wonderful service. Would come back again in a heartbeat.
We used to love Hamptons 818 but our recent visit greatly changed that impression. We made the reservation through Open Table and then also called to request that it NOT be a high-top-since we had my father with us. When we arrived, the only had the high-top so we waited "a few minutes" for our table -it was 45 minutes! Then, 4 of the 8 people did not get their food and watched as tables that were sat later than we got served. Barely an apology. Finally, we realized that the turkey bacon that had been requested was NOT and a person was given bacon despite food restrictions. They took off that meal and maybe one other but really did not care. Sad because we chose this place often for brunch.
We made reservations here for brunch and the restaurant said they never got confirmation of our reservation. May want to check in with this location via phone if you make reservations via Open Table.
We had a very enjoyable lunch! Very friendly and accommodating experience. Definitely return.
Had no idea when we booked the res, that this is a HOOKAH LOUNGE. Every table around us was smoking from the Hookah and it was quite nauseating.
Nothing much to choose from food wise if you’re vegan. Had an avocado toast that was super lackluster. Basically just regular sourdough bread not even toasted with some avocado mashed up on it. It was fine but wouldn’t go back there. My family said their food (egg dishes and such) were ok. The ambiance is relaxing so that was nice. Just nothing for a vegan to do there. Always a challenge to find places that everyone with their dietary restrictions can eat at and equally enjoy the food.
This was the first time I ate at this restaurant. Service was great but the food was nothing to write home about
Fun, lively indoor/outdoor place.
The inside of the restaurant looked like the remnants of a worn out nightclub - definitely not somewhere I want to go for brunch. There were very few patrons there when we went and still service was really slow. Won’t be coming back here again.
Outside of an initial problem with our reservation, our Sunday brunch was great. There were plenty of heaters so the fact that it had rained was not a problem as far as staying warm. The food and drinks were great - especially the Corn Flake French Toast and the Mango Smash. Our server was great - attentive and right on top of things but not overbearing. First time there for 3 out of 5 of us and we all agreed the we would definitely go back without hesitation.
Parking is hard to find. Has to park in the back and my friend had to park on the street. Service was a little slow especially for us being the first ones there.
