Hamilton's Urban Steakhouse and Bourbon Bar
The overall meal was good, wine menu selection was sold out of most bottles, sold out of 1 of the 2 fish selections and several cuts of beef. Brussel sprouts were way too salty. Dessert was good.
Second visit to Hamilton’s & food was just as spectacular as the first time, however, I probably won’t go back if it’s just two of us dining. It is most unfortunate because the steaks are cooked to perfection! I had a filet that melted in my mouth. Flash friend brussel sprouts was very delicious. My husband had a ribeye which was equally good. Now the part of why we won’t be returning. The restaurant has limited seating as it is small which lends itself to the two-seater tables sitting very close together. With an outreach arm, I could’ve touched the tables next to us. I just feel to drop a significant amount of money on a meal & drinks is too much to share with other restaurant patrons. Unable to have dinner intimacy because our conversations could be heard by the neighbors as well as we heard theirs. With that said, I overheard the mac & cheese was “the best I’ve ever had” & the wild mushrooms were sides ordered on both sides of us & overheard they were very delicious. Hopefully in the future they will rearrange seating to provide dinner intimacy that their prices demand.
Perfect service, food, environment. Would come back to St. Louis just for this restaurant.
This restaurant was fabulous, and pricey, but for the quality of food I expect to pay a higher price. Don’t mind it as long as the food is excellent and this was excellent.
Great steaks. Some reasonable choices on the wine list. Overall a great experience. We will be back.
Overall ok experience here... I really wanted to have a great experience, but it wasn’t just one issue.
Waiter came out w some floppy old garlic bread to start. Ok fine, I thought this was an upscale place, but whatever. Ordered a starter (cauliflower fritters) and immediately we both needed to add salt. Then I got my lobster bisque, and was just... ok.
Steak was good, presented really well, wine was delish.
But bill was priced for a ‘great’ meal. Mine was just ok.
Maybe just an off night for the kitchen. I hope so, but I can’t say I’ll go back to find out.
We have been here before by ourselves, however there were 5 of us this time and it was still excellent! Our guests raved about the steak and the service was GREAT!!
From start to finish the experience was amazing, the food came out quick and was perfectly cooked. Our server James wished my wife happy birthday as well.
We went on a recommendation from a friend. Best recommendation ever! We arrived early and spent some time with Frank at the bar. Get service and selections of bourbon. We were seated promptly for dinner and the service and food were fantastic!!!
No restaurant in St. Louis has a better steak. A plus!
Anniversary dinner!! Bartender was great!! We are relatively new to bourbon drinking. He made recommendations based on our individual taste profiles and desired price point. He entertained us with the history of some distillers and selections. We were seated at our reservation time. Our server was prompt and polite. Food (filet, veal, mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts) was well worth the price! Bread pudding was phenomenal! Our wine by the glass was a little pricey but very good. Venue is small so as they got busier the noise level rose-felt less intimate. Seating is cozy. Will definitely go again during the week!!
Griffin was our waiter and was fantastic! Cannot wait to go back.
Outstanding charcuterie board and everyone's steak was great. The one person that had the chicken entrée said it was the best chicken she has ever had! Truly appreciated flexibility of adding to more people to our party which were traveling from out of town.
They were very good about a change in our reservation when we changed from 4 people to 6 people. The food was delicious and the service was great . We would definitely go back.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Hamilton’s and I can safely say that this is my new favorite restaurant in St. Louis! The food was amazing, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was perfect for a small group of friends to chat and catch up over a delicious meal and fantastic drinks. We will definitely be back!
We went to dinner for my husband’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. When we were greeted at the door for the reservation the hostess immediately wished my husband , by name a happy birthday. The atmosphere is quaint with the perfect amount of low lighting. Griffin our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the extensive selection in cocktails. As we were being seated Griffin also acknowledged that we were dining in celebration of a birthday which he had obviously been informed of ahead of time. He was attentive and gave us plenty of time to make our menu selections without hovering or rushing us. The four of us dining all selected various cuts of beef and everyone loved their meal.
When the check was brought to the table along with it came a birthday card signed by the entire staff.
Very nice touches and a very memorable experience. Will definitely be back
Neat little new(we) place. Quaint, unique and good food! We’ll be back!!
Loved the venue. Fun location with great decor. Food was delicious and service was great.
Excellent wait service and the food was really tasty! Was perfect for our special occasion dinner.
We went for our anniversary and the food and service were outstanding. Everything we had Filets, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, and brussel sprouts were very good. My only complaint is the prices seem very high.
An amazing food and drink experience at the bar! Unfortunately there were amateurs drinking on New year's Eve. I loved our tender! Definitely a place to stop into!
Went there for New Years Eve dinner and it was phenomenal! There is plenty of free street parking nearby. The ambiance was romantic and elegant. I recommend the foie gras butter. Great for date nights!
Great steaks! Loved all the choices of sauces and flavored butters. Very hip place. Will definitely go back!
My husband and I went for NYE dinner. The aged steaks were delicious and flavorful. My husband added the scallops to his steak and said they were cooked perfectly. I had the asparagus as a side and the sauce had way too much lemon in it. Our server was Iva and he was very knowledgeable on the entire menu. He was very attentive, observant and catered to our needs. Overall, this was a very good experience and we will definitely return.
We had New Year's Eve dinner with friends here and Hamilton's did not disappoint. Wonderful meal!
Incredible dinner with friends on New Year’s Eve
The steaks were definitely some of the very best we've had in StL! They were beyond delicious! We will be back.
Good but food was a little salter than usual but would definitely go back again
I had high expectations for Hamilton’s. It was extremely overpriced for the meal that we received. There was no difference in taste between the regular steak and the dry aged. The steak was overcooked, and not plated professionally. The service was mediocre. Not an establishment I would return too. We do however highly recommend Vin De Set which is a sister restaurant.
AWESOME MEAL. JUICY STEAK. MAC AND CHEESE WAS TOP NOTCH. GOOD WHISKEY SELECTION.
Everything was wonderful. We use this as a special occasion venue. Service is very attentive without being over the top.
The steaks were good, but I would like it to be less of a traditional steakhouse and maybe feature smaller steaks and more innovative sides. Also, all their steaks should be dry-aged.
All servers were spot on and very nice. The appetizer was good. Not great, not bad.
There is music that is louder than most places but it was what was expected and enjoyed it.
The steaks and such were dynamite.
Steaks were cooked to perfection. Sides were delicious and server was attentive and anticipating of our wants. We’ll be back.
Our visit did not disappoint! The ambiance was sensational; the food was straightforward and delicious (albeit my steak was just a tad too salty); the drinks were interesting and “educational!” The waitstaff was well-schooled about their menu items. We especially enjoyed the tasty charcuterie board. If we had to look for anything negative, and that would be a stretch, our order to table was somewhat slow. We had a superior evening with good friends and we have plans to return very soon.
This place is great!! Visiting town and was looking for a good steak to celebrate a friends birthday, this place is top notch, the steak was so tender I have never had anything like it before, it is pricey but I would hands down pay that again and again to have that melt in your mouth steak. I got the 10 oz filet and my friend got the 16oz ribeye both were amazing, also try the mac and cheese it’s great!! The wine and bourbon list is so extensive and the cocktails were awesome. If you want an amazing steak go here, also I did read the reviews before and people had commented on the dress code, there isn’t one however my friend and I had on nice t-shirts and nice jeans and we felt under dressed as most of the men were in jackets and the women in dresses, with that being said we were still served with amazing hospitality, this place is a for sure stop on future trips to STL
The filet mignon's were amazing. Vegetables perfectly cooked. Our server, Iva, was a treat. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very funny. Great experience all around. Thank you once again.
Classic steakhouse with a modern twist. Enjoyed the bartender.
Their staff creates an excellent dining experience supported by great food and a hip dining room. Every detail was tended to from the moment we walked in. We are fans and we can’t wait to come back.
