It was the 4th of July. We came in with a reservation at 5pm, and after we sat down were told that they were out of "some" items on the menu. "Some" ended up being all we wanted --- beef brisket, lamb belly, baby back ribs. So we had a disappointing start. Then, we waited about 40 minutes to get our orders. When we asked our waiter at the 30 min mark what was taking so long, he gave a lame excuse about how they got a big catering order that was delaying our food. Really? The food we got was okay, but not sure it's worth the trouble.
This is my first time at this restaurant. I was looking forward to liking it because it's the closes bbq restaurant to our house. I am not sure anymore if I will go again.
Loved the hostess!! A very helpful and happy person! Came earlier than my reserved time and we got seated right away. Food and drinks were delicious as always and we always look forward to the desserts!!
Mexican burger (which is really sliced brisket) is outstanding.
Hamilton Pork is a neighborhood gem as well as a worthy destination in Hudson County. The food is top notch on a menu that hits all the high notes of barbecue/Southern/summertime cuisine. The staff is super-nice and are attentive without being intrusive. It is a terrific complement to its sister restaurant, The Hamilton Inn, but at either place, you cannot go wrong.
Father’s Day dinner was a success the kids and adults alike loved the food!
One word sums up the whole experience. GREAT!!
delicious food and outstanding service and ambiance. it's truly a hidden spot worth checking out if you love high quality BBQ
I love this place! The restaurant and the food!!
A Little loud and with a family crowd at the time we went but I’m sure later in the night the crowd becomes more young people and less family. Food was incredible and the service was great, drinks were also top notch
Good barbecue (liked the lamb belly, especially). Nice sides. A little too noisy for our tastes, but fun, nonetheless. We'll be back.
Love this place. Great tasting, thoughtful/creative dishes. This is the kind of restaurant (along with Hamilton Inn) that improves the DNA of a neighborhood. Also, kickass margaritas.
Delicious place and food!!!
Think reclaimed wood. Bare light bulbs strung along the ceiling. TOO LOUD 90's music (were they trying to make up for the fact that few people were there?). Good space between the tables. Sides are meant for sharing (about 2/3 people). Meat sampler was uniformly delicious (except the ribs were a little too black). You choose the meats. Decent BBQ- as in- the real deal. I particularly liked the pulled pork (great flavor!) and tender brisket. But the portions on the platter were VERY small. Brussel sprouts with bacon and apple were absolutely delcious I could have made that side my whole dinner. OK mac & cheese. Same with cole slaw. Slim beer list. But a decent draft pilsner. Price wise it adds up quickly. Server was eager to please and happy to serve- nice not obnoxious. Great server. Glad we went. I'm coming back.
Kitchen backed up waited an hour to get BBQ and salad!
Their BBQ is excellent! Tonight we had the pulled chicken, pulled pork, and pork ribs. All were excellent. The ribs fell off the bone. They ran out of the lamb belly but that’s usually quite the delicacy. The wait was a bit long even with the reservation, but the host gave us our first drinks on the house, which is a sign of good service. Side were excellent too... the Mexican corn, jalapeño cornbread, and smashed sweet potatoes. Lively one a Friday night.
Great restaurant!, we tried the brisket sandwich, ribs, chicken and churros and everything was really good! Legit BBQ joint!
Food was amazing. Baby back ribs were unbelievably delicious. Nachos and wings were great appetizers. Rest of the group had various sandwiches that were all fantastic. Great service. Great food. Great drinks. This place is awesome!!!
Always the best bbq in the tri-state area. Love this place and now even better with the patio and outdoor opening. Great place to drink but don’t forget to eat. The sausages are amazing, ribs and pulled pork. The tacos are great and all the sides - particularly the Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese and corn. The wings rock.
I was meeting up with a buddy of mine whom I haven’t seen in awhile. We picked this place and we weren’t disappointed. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The drinks weren’t too bad but the food was phenomenal. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with brisket. OMG😍. I’m definitely coming back to try out the rest of the menu. Just a heads up this place gets really busy so you might want to do a reservation before hand. I used this app to do it.
My boyfriend and I love some good BBQ and decided to give this place a try! We made a reservation same day and were seated promptly. The restaurant has a great vibe and energy to it! The brisket and pulled chicken were DELICIOUS! Loved every minute spent dining here and would definitely recommend it to friends and family!
Casual but hip BBQ joint near Hamilton Park. The bread pudding is excellent.
Great food and great service even for vegetarians like me
It was amazing food was great service was great overall an amazing place
Excellent food and drinks as usual. I recommend the lamb belly in particular. The service here is usually very good. On this occasion, though, we made a reservation but were not seated for over 30 minutes. I think they might need to work on the reservation system so they don't accept more than they can handle.
Price to portion is way off and the sides are way overpriced.
If you want good BBQ, come here I promise you will not be disappointed. I visited Hamilton Pork before I went to Nashville and I'll put their brisket against TN bbq any day. Ive also had some serious Texas BBQ from Franklins, I'm not saying its better than Franklins but it is a good contender for a Jersey City joint. Well DONE Hamilton Pork!
I love coming to Hamilton Pork. The food is superb especially their potato salad, Mexican corn and their churros. They never disappoint.
Had the pulled pork sandwich; my wife had the Mexican burger made with brisket. Both delicious, excellent service, nice ambience, and close to home.
Went there on a date night with my wife, since we had passed by there so much.
The restaurant was designed nicely and with great ambiance.
Our server was fantastic and was super attentive to what we wanted to ordered and throughout the meal.
We ordered the meat platter and received it really fast. However, we were sort of disappointed because it was cold by the time we got it. The meat was good but not as good if it came still hot.
We also got the chicken tacos which came hot and it was delicious.
The value of the platter I though was okay and a little pricey for what we actually got (2 ribs, 2 pieces of brisket and some shredded pork) for $23.
All in all, we definitely would go back for their Tacos on their Taco Tuesday special, but be apprehensive on ordering their meats again.
Usually a great place. Took my favorite thing off the menu... That's ok. But food came out cold and dry.
Loved everything about this place! Stopped in during restaurant week for dinner and it did not disappoint. Loved that I was able to pick three meats and really try everything out. The bread pudding at the end is for sure what I'll be back for.
Although we never got to sit at our reserved table ( was seated at the bar), the energy in the restaurant was awesome and the food was even better!
Bit of a bbq snob so I thought the food could have been better (brisket was a bit dry), but overall the food was good, just not amazing.
For a bbq place ot was fairly good. I have been there in the summer when the back is open and its a good time for quick eats and drinks.
Great place with amazing Smokey bbq. The sausage are amazing as are the ribs and liked pork. The chicken wings are the best I’ve ever had. The sides are also great. A cannot miss spot.
I love this place. Great food, great service and even better FOOD!!!
Excellent food and service. Love this restaurant. I highly recommend it
