Hamilton Park serves hearty, locally sourced American fare. Think hand-rolled pasta and charcuterie cured in-house. Our open kitchen and lively dining area that flow seamlessly into the lobby space of the beautiful Blake Hotel.
It was a very positive experience. The server Stacy was very attentive and the manager check on us twice. The appetizers were perfect. Salmon entrees were plated well and cook to proper temperature. The deserts were sublime. Can’t wait to return,
Excellent new venue for Tyler Anderson off the lobby of The Blake Hotel in downtown New Haven. The scene is upbeat and energetic, yet comfortable. The service was friendly and efficient. The dishes that I had, clam chowder and a lobster pasta, were excellent. I would have to order something a bit more ambitious before considering the food to be "outstanding." The list of wines by the glass provided ample opportunity to find an appropriate and excellent accompaniment to the meal. We plan to return soon.
For being in such a nice hotel, the food was definitely not worth the price point. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't thrilled either.
One of my more memorable dining experiences downtown New Haven yet!
This was my first experience at the Blake. I'm responsible for signing Yale University contracts and wanted to check it out. The valet parking was awkward, although the valet & front desk staff were very pleasant. The hostess sat us in the back near the kitchen (extremely distracting) and a large party...despite it not being a busy time and there were plenty of other options on where to be seated. Although three different servers came out...it took quite a while to get coffee...and the young woman who brought the coffee asked if I wanted milk...I asked if she had 1/2 & 1/2 or creamer...she said she didn't know but would check. She came back with whole milk but neglected to say whether it was cream or milk...I could tell it wasn't cream.
The menu was not extensive at all...My husband had lobster pasta and some type of smoked fish dip (came out well after the rest of the food was served...despite asking for everything at once)...however, the waiter did take the dip off the bill. I ordered lemon, ricotta, blueberry pancakes and two fried eggs over medium...the pancakes I didn't really enjoy...strange combination of flavors and my eggs were over cooked.
I do hope the feedback from your customers is put to use in developing a better experience for the customers, but I do not see myself coming again for breakfast/lunch/brunch.
Overall, the staff was nice, but I would not recommend the Sunday Jazz Brunch.
A very special evening! We had the best experience at Hamilton Park and will be returning and recommending to friends.
Everything was amazing. Food, ambience and service!! Can’t wait to go back!
Can't beat the food. Four of us shared the charcuterie platter for an appetizer. Very good! Two of us had the cod on a bed of fennel and bacon, or maybe it was pancetta. Delicious. My wife had the hanger steak - she said it was very good. Desserts were fine, more than enough for two.
Service was lacking a bit. They were very nice and seemed to be trying their best - everyone, the valet, hostess, wait staff. I got the feeling they didn't have much experience at their particular jobs. Not a big deal to me. I'll give them a pass since the food was very good. Perhaps they should add a few more items to the menu.
The atmosphere was impressive, as was the hotel - nice new building. I'll be back once they work out the kinks. I hear the place has only been open a short time.
We had heard about it and went to check it out. The menu is varied and has a good selection but no overwhelming.
Food and service was outstanding we highly recommend.
Great food in a lovely setting. Contemporary American, with nice touches like artisan charcuterie and cheeses. Desserts could be better, though, nothing special and a notch below other similar class restaurants in New Haven.
Everything was delicious but the portions were way too small for the price.
We waited for someone to acknowledge us or at least give us a menu or water for about 20 minutes. The food was average, and a bit pricey. I liked the atmosphere. I will return but only for the bar.
