   Exquisite, faultless food in a truly glorious setting, slightly let down by patchy service. Watching a nervous trainee getting scolded by his trainer in front of us was disappointing. Would return but service was not the friendliest nor the most organised and this should be improved considering the price and the mandatory 12.5% service charge.

   Overall, this is a five star restaurant but it slipped a stitch with a recent Sunday lunch. Starters and deserts were amazing as always but the main course of sirloin beef was not quite up to its usual standard.

   Very expensive for the food we had. The cheese board is effectively £20. No lunch deal on Sat which was disappointing but we were made aware of this. We were also handed a menu that did not have one of the selections on and we were told of the change. Why not re print the menu? This was a special occasion and I expected more for the price paid. The scallop dish and grouse were excellent but the rest was average to disappointing. Somewhere like Chez Bruce is much better in all respects. First world problems though.

   The staff, food and ambience were all perfect. Expected a very high standard and the whole experience exceeded all expectations.

   The food was excellent and the setting is a delightful old country estate. The crowd were of an age and manner while the servers at times lacked affability, but on the whole the service and atmosphere were lovely. The food was divine, local, British, and of a quality suitable for ignoring less educated neighbours.

   This was my second visit to Hambleton Hall, this time as a treat for my mother's 80th birthday. I found it difficult to fault. They treated us very well and made the occasion very special for my mum. The food was excellent and the service faultless. Helped by a nice sunny September day, so we enjoyed coffee in the garden taking in the lovely views to conclude our visit (followed by a nice walk around the gardens). It's not cheap, but it is good value. I would recommend it to anyone.

   We had a wonderful three course lunch for my husband’s 40th the service and staff were lovely. We would definitely recommend for a dining experience to remember. Food was so good! Thank you for making the occasion one we will remember.

    Outstanding, perfect, brilliant are just a few of the words I would use to describe our lunch at Hambleton Hall. Amazing food, wine and staff. We cannot wait until our next visit. Many thanks.
