Halls Chophouse - Greenville Ratings and Reviews
Great great environment. From the music, to the room set up, and the food was amazing! Our waiter was Hampton and he did a great job.
The guy that is there when Mr. Hall is not is a little overbearing. It seems he picked out 1 couple (who wound up sitting right behind us.. so my husband was constantly bumped) and was constantly at their table.. even their waiter seemed a little confused. He did not speak to a lot to other tables... only to take their check?? Felt very much like a "sale" taking place. Would suggest that he be more relaxed as other guests noticed it.
This is one of our fav's! We strongly recommend it to anyone! Great job Hampton! You were awesome!
Eating at Halls Chophouse was an amazing experience! The food was amazing, the staff was attentive, and the live music was the cherry on top! We will definitely come back and have already told several people about Halls Chophouse. We have been to Ruth’s Chris twice now and we actually prefer Halls Chophouse over Ruth’s Chris! The food is better and the prices are more reasonable at Halls.
The food and service are great...once you get seated. On weekends, reservations are more like suggestions rather than realities, but once you get seated you’re in for a fantastic experience. The steaks are wonderful and the servers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Every meal I’ve had New has been exceptional.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful night at Hall's Chophouse this weekend. We were so impressed with the staff that was overly welcoming and speaking with us as we walked by or even the staff that noticed me searching for the restroom without me even needing to ask.
The menu has a great variety of options and prices so can fit most people's interest and budgets.
We had a great waiter, DeWayne. He was friendly, accommodating, and very patient. Would suggest anyone to ask to sit in his section. Also, we thoroughly enjoyed our prime rib and duck. We ordered lobster mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, and creamed corn skillet. Would highly recommend all these sides!! They were so creamy and delicious. The textures were great. They are definitely worth the cost, and we had plenty of leftovers! The skillets are great size portions!
Our only complaints would be that they left the tails on the shrimp for the shrimp and grits, and being in such a nice restaurant, you feel like a hillbilly to be using your hands and teeth to try and remove the tails because a fork and knife doesn't get all the meat out.
Also, the wine manager came by and wasn't happy that we decided to not order wine and was quite rude. When he first walked up to our table just interjected and interrupted our conversation without even caring. We felt as though he truly only saw us as dollar signs and disregarded us as worth his time because we hadn't ordered a wine bottle nor glass. Rather, he should have approached us and asked if he could suggest a couple wines that would pair well with our meals. He could have explained that his job was to make your experience more enjoyable by suggesting wines that could add to the meals flavors.
Other than those two things, our experience was delightful and we plan to visit again soon. Those complaints are the only reason I gave a 4 star.
My wife and I came to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was beyond our expectations. Our service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door. The steaks we had were beyond wonderful. My wife could cut her filet mignon with a fork. Hall's was by far one of the best fine dining restaurants we have ever been to. Great food and outstanding service.
Had wonderful birthday dinner for me and my daughter. The food was outstanding as was the service. The restaurant is beautiful with wonderful views of downtown Greenville. We will be regulars for special occasions in the future. We were greeted by both the owner and the manager and given free champagne to celebrate. Our server, Duane, sent us home with a gift of dessert for our birthdays. Thank you to all of you for such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this incredible restaurant.
We Had king crab and lobster tail for appetizers, followed by filet and dry aged ny strip. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. All servers weee super friendly and provided great, and very attentive service form the greeter/host, in house wine staff, main server and the rest of the team that helped with our dinner. Great food, great service and worth the price in my opinion.
I loved every minute on Valentines this year. The food was top notch. The drinks were great and the service was amazing. My fiance and I was so pleased and can't wait to go on Sunday for brunch! We was able to meet the owner and the chef both were nice. I highly recommend that if you haven't tried it you should Its a Great Experience!!!
My husband and I had a wonderful romantic Valentine's Day dinner. The live music was great and the staff was just stupendous. We have been to Halls on many of our special occasions from birthdays to anniversaries. Each time we have always been very pleased by everything.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu. He made recommendations that were excellent. All staff members were very friendly and courteous. Mr. Hall greeted us as we entered the restaurant and later came by our table to ensure the order was prepared to our satisfaction. Hall's Chophouse is an excellent choice for a great dining experience.
Me and my girlfriend went to Hall’s for Valentine’s Day. We couldn’t have made a better choice. We were greeted immediately as walking in the door and the staff was very courteous. The service was flawless, from attentiveness and thorough knowledge and explanation of the menu and features. Amazing food as well! Possibly the best steak either one of has have ever had! This place is a must for anyone. We will be back!
Overall good experience. Bourbon prices were a little excessive in relation to their prices. Don't mind paying $40-$60 for a good steak, but the price for one pour of bourbon was 1/2 to close to actual price of the whole bottle in local stores. Other than that everything was great.
We enjoyed our diner and the food was great. We was sitting between the live misic in the bar and the canned music in the lower dining room, the sound was not great for us. The live group was very good when we could hear them. The service was very good and the servers were all very up beat
This was the most amazing dinner we’ve ever had!!! The bone in filet was literally the best steak I’ve ever ate! And the Mac and cheese, sweet and sour collard greens, and corn jack skillet were insane!!! It was our anniversary and the floor manager make sure we were well taken care of! The service was amazing and tended to our every want and need! We drove 2 hours to eat there and We will definitely be going back! Thanks!
Halls Chophouse is hands down the best steak restaurant in Greenville. I have visited Halls at least 7 times within the last year. However, I visited a few days ago and the food was great but the service was very slow. We had a party of 8 and two of the steaks came out not being the right temperature. With that being said, they were very apologetic and made adjustments to the bill. Overall, I would definitely go back again but for the price of the meal I definitely expect great service.
We decided to avoid the crowds on Valentine's Day, so we celebrated the Sunday before with brunch. We had to wait just a few minutes for our table, but that is typical of this restaurant. (However, the wait is always less than 15 minutes.) We had requested a table with a view on Open Table and we were seated at a nice table with a wonderful view of the water and street. We enjoyed watching a crane fly in and walk along the water edge. Very rare site for this area! We both enjoyed brunch entree's - crab version of eggs benedict for me, filet mignon for my Valentine. Everything was splendid - as it should be on such a holiday. Thank you, Hall's Chop House. The staff worked well together to make sure everyone was taken care of within a timely and friendly manner.
We had Sunday Brunch at Halls Chop House before a matinee show at the Peace Center. Our table was ready for our group of 6 when we arrived and the service and food was exceptional. It was our first visit, and we plan to go back for the early dining option as well as brunch again. Four of us had the Eggs Benedict, 2 had the crab Benedict, I had beef Benedict and one had the traditional. We all loved our dishes. The management team checked on us to ensure our meals and service were exceptional. This is truly a great addition to dining in Greenville.
We went to Halls after the theatre, so it was probably 10.40pm when we arrived. The atmosphere was wonderful, the surroundings were elegant and the service was exceptional. The food itself was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience in every regard, thank you Halls.
Really enjoy this restaurant. You are greeted by every employee of the restaurant you pass in a friendly but not overly familiar manner (professional and warm). The service is wonderful with quiet attention to every detail. The food is delicious and expertly prepared. We were asked if we were there for a special occasion. We were (our anniversary) and were given complimentary champagne and chocolate cake at the end of our meal. Our son and his wife go to this restaurant several times a year and have always been treated exceptionally well and always had any special occasion they were there for recognized in much the same way. (Recently they were there for dinner and were delayed in being seated so they were given complimentary champagne. Their special occasion was that he was beginning a new job and this, too, was recognized with complimentary cake.) Lastly, we received a lovely, handwritten, personal thank you note from our server in the mail when we arrived home from our trip. Reservations are usually needed for a seat at Hall's and their care for their customers is the reason. Highly recommend.
This was my second time dining here. The filet is excellent as are the sides . It is a beautiful venue with a great view. We came with friends for their first visit as they had a gift card for their meals. None of us will return. We were inundated with employees greetings and check-ins multiple times throughout the evening . Each time it interrupting our conversation. But, the worst was that our server inserted himself into our conversation three different times to add his personal thoughts to what we were discussing. We found this intrusive and unprofessional . It was extremely annoying. We were there to enjoy conversation and catch up with these friends. Parts of our conversation were private. I’m sure the staff is trained to be attentive but the four of us agree this was over the top. We decided to go somewhere else for after dinner drinks so we could talk uninterrupted .
We had such a lovely time here. It was our first time going to Halls, they were very accommodating and all the workers seemed happy to be there. They took pride in all of their work to the smallest detail. Very much look forward to future opportunities to visit!
