I love HalfSmoke vibe and food ! Games to play, great service, creative style, I love the check books !! & can’t forget bottomless mimosas w/ all the different flavors ! THUMBS UP HALFSMOKE :)
Fantastic as always. Thank you for working so well with us and shoutout to Lucas who did a great job as our server.
Everything was great except it was very loud in the dining areas.
Nice but it was a little too loud for conversation
Great. Lucas was a great server. Give him a raise.
Only been for Saturday brunch but the bottomless brunch menu is a great deal. About $30 for an entree and bottomless mimosas can’t beat that. The brunch menu is a little limiting but all the options are delicious. And the menu changes throughout the year. The ambiance is incredible, cool vibes with board games to play can’t help but feel like home here.
It was great. I will go again. I loved the food, the atmosphere, everything about it.
Love this place! My only
Complaint is that we had a reservation for 2:15pm, but weren’t actually seated until almost 3:00pm....but it was worth the wait.
Food, service, and ambiance is really good. Can get really loud with music and people trying to talk over it. Bottomless with an entree was really affordable too....only $30/person. Only downside was the seating was not really sturdy. The benches felt like they were struggling to hold only two people.
Horrible experience. Service was incredibly poor. Left after 45 min of never receiving drink or food.
I had previously written a review regarding my visit as I was less than satisfied. Michelle immediately reached out to me to make it right. I was invited back to HalfSmoke and had a great experience. The food was good and the staff was wonderful. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good brunch place.
Loved the music, bottomless mimosas and drinks. The city had a power outage at the time of my visit and they gave a generous discount which they didn’t have to do! I got the scramble with Halfsmoke sausage as my protein, very good! Not a lot of food on the plate but the bottomless mimosas being included in the meal price made it worth it (and they don’t skimp on the champagne). Had a great waitress too!
It took about 40 mins for me to receive my drink and once I received it, it was not what I ordered and it tasted like cough syrup. I was also missing add-one to my Sandwhich. Server was super nice but the overall service needs improvement.
The place was good for brunch but the fly and gnat infestation needs to be fixed. It really was a turn off for me and my guests because it was excessive and they are everywhere. The upside was our waiter was great but it’s distraction when you have insects around your food
Food poor and noise and music too loud. Couldnt not have a conversation at the table
I was throughly disappointed by my recent trip to halfsmoke. the hostess was rather rude. I had requested inside seating prior to arriving
A wonderful place! We had experienced some problems with our reservation the week before, but they personally contacted me and asked us to come back on them. They treated us with the best service and great food! Would definitely come back!
HalfSmoke is a lot of fun for very large groups who want to drink bottomless mimosas! Our waiter was very kind and attentive, always making sure we were good and that our drinks were filled. I had the french toast and it was delicious! I love the whimsical childish vibe of the place- they bring your checks in old VHS cases! Overall, a fun place for brunch!
Bar Waitress Was Rude The Style Of The Place Was Nice But The Bar Lady i had Was To Rude. And The Funnel Cake Was Nasty i Had to send It Back 3 Times For More Sugar
The music was too loud. I lost my voice trying to talk to my people. 3 of my guests left because of the noise and one refuse to order because of the noise she just wanted to leave. I loved the music but it didn’t need to be that damn loud. I don’t know who worked there and who were guests. I asked
several servers for an extra chair and never received it. My glass was dirty. The server checked on us once after she take our order but didn’t bring anything back we asked for. She charged my people for things they didn’t order and claimed she saw them drinking mimosas but little did she know my family member is high allergic to oranges so that was impossible. But after that pointless back and forth she changed it but had an nasty attitude. She didn’t smile until she saw her tip. We definitely won’t return, that place is for kids. That what is was kids serving kids.
I love this restaurant! Great food and great vibes!
Half smoke is a great concept, with a great location, good design, and a mostly enthusiastic front of the house staff. I've read good reviews and had reasonable expectations. The food is -at best- just deeply, deeply mediocre. It's a shame.
Brunch was great! The chicken and funnel cake was amazing!
Masai is a great waitress! Super friendly, bubbly and outgoing! Her suggestions for items to order on the menu were spot on! My friends and I were not disappointed. The food here was good and we thought it was unique from the menu’s to the board game-play during brunch. Next time I go back I’ll be trying the loaded Bloody Mary that’s on the menu! Thanks Masai & Half Smoke for a great first time.
Very poor service. Staff was dismissive and rude. Refused to to split the check.
Great food! They had plenty of games for us to play while waiting for the food.
The food was amazing , the atmosphere inside is alSo dope!! Server could work on her attentiveness she continuously abandoned us for her other tables ( she did later apologize and said it was her first big party )
I originally came in April and did not have the best experience, but decided to give it another try this past weekend and I can say that things were TURNED AROUND!. I came in and Kevin took immediate care of me, making sure that I was seated okay since I was alone. I had requested a few modifications to the item I wanted for brunch and he made sure that it was taken care of. The place was busy (it was Sunday brunch, which I can understand) but he remained attentive and constantly checking if I needed anything at all. The place has a fun atmosphere, great music playing throughout the restaurant (so much so that people got up and started dancing! It gave me a good laugh) and people that you can tell enjoying coming there. I am definitely going to make sure I come back, and this time I will make sure to bring a friend with me! Thanks HalfSmoke!
Enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere, wished the funnel cake was better done. Chicken was HITTIN’ though!
Food was good, nothing mind blowing. Service was good but felt rushed even though there was barely anyone else in the restaurant.
Nice environment but the crab cakes were not good at all. They were burnt and tasteless. just crab filler - no crab meat at all. I was highly disappointed.
I came to try their brunch with a friend. I'm not a fan of how brunch places in DC mostly serve juice than champagne for mimosa and called it bottomless. Needless to say, you can add this place to that list. I tried the red velvet funnel cake and chicken. The funnel cake tasted baked and heavy. Definitely not how a real funnel cake is made, however it was cute. I only could only eat the chicken. I also ordered a special bloody mary that suppose to be a potential whole meal with the food and fixings on top. So I wanted to try something different. When that bloody mary came, it was just a plane jane. I could've poured tomato juice in a wine glass myself. Mind you, I don't even like bloody marys so I definitely made them take it back. Now it's one thing that this place is great for are their halfsmoke. Since I wasn't completely satisfied with the main course, I tried a halfsmoke with a fried egg on top. It's not something that's on the menu, but we sat near the kitchen and noticed that an egg does come with their steak and cheese sandwich. That was the finisher of completely being fulfilled!
service was slow and they were slow to replace the drinks
Went to Halfsmoke for brunch with a group of 7. Two of us ordered bottomless mimosas with our entrees. When they came, there was so little champagne in them that it really wasn’t worth it. Also, our server only came by to refill our glasses one time during brunch. Our table also ordered tequila shots which tasted watered down.
Between the seven of us we ordered almost every entree on their brunch menu. The food was definitely good but the slow service and weak drinks left us pretty disappointed.
food was average but the bottomless mimosas were worth it. great place to have brunch
Our server was amazing, and the food was delicious. We did bottomless mimosas, and the refills were very prompt. Highly recommended!
The service was rude, to say the least. We listened to their servers ask multiple parties to hurry up and finish. Service was disorganized, and our meals both came out at room temperature. Worst dining experience to date. Will not be returning.
The server wasn’t very friendly and there was a large gap of time in receiving our dishes amongst the group. Interesting that gratuity was automatically added to our bill when our group size was only 6 people and we paid with one card because we were told she would not split the check even though last time we were at this establishment with a larger group they were happy to provide separate checks and did not have automatic gratuity.
The $30 brunch deal is a GREAT deal with bottomless mimosas. The Bad & Boujee was delicious, and we had fun playing with the board games while we finished our mimosas!
