Hakkasan - New York

Totally overpriced mediocre Chinese food. So many places you can go in NYC for great, tasty, and affordable Chinese food instead of this place.
Steve was outstanding! Remembered us from a previous visit and even knew I forgot to ask for chicken in the out-of-the-world Hot n’ Sour soup. This is by far my favorite restaurant in the world for consistent quality and delicious food.
When we go to the city we always dine at Hakkasan for a reason...the great food! Service can be a bit hit or miss and the server on this visit got off to a bit of a rough start but in the end the service was very good. Part of the rough start might have had to do with how busy the restaurant was. Only complaint...they need to redo their wine list to categorize wines better.
We enjoyed our dinner here, but found it a little too noisy.
Great place! A little pricey but worth the occasional meal
The seat cushion was ripped in the booth area. Food was delicious and service was attentive.
A beautiful space with elegant and delicious Chinese food. The bar is beautiful and buzzy!
Didn’t really live up to the hype. Definitely really good Chinese food- I was expecting unusual flavors but it tasted like just good Chinese food which you can probably get for a fraction of the price in Chinatown! Dessert and cocktail (red chili margarita) was the best part of the meal.
Everything from the decor, the service, & the food were excellent. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a nice dinner before a show
We were told seating in the bar and expected to sit in the bar area. This literally means you take your chance at a bar seat. No reservation whatsoever. The food is unique and the staff tries to please - but even though we have been there many times, there is no familiarity offered. If you are in the mood for this type of food, Mr. Chows blows Hakkasan away.
Great service. Quick but not pushy. Very attentive :)
Wonderfully prepared and presented food at ridiculously high prices. Portions are very small so be prepared to spend dollars.
Hakkasan is my favourite restaurant in Manhattan-why?: 1. Best wine list I've ever seen. 2. Consistently great food. 3. Consistently great service.
Great! Food was awesome, as was the service! What more would anyone want?
I am so happy that they are open for lunch now! They are always amazing and I was so happy to have a place to sit, relax and have a great lunch menu!!
Very friendly and helpful waiter
We have been here many times, but this is the first time I noticed that the dim sum items have shrunk in size. This was very disappointing as we really liked those (both the vegetarians the non veg) very much. The chicken dish was great as were the duck rolls (but maybe they had also shrunk). For a change the place was not full/packed. Is that a message or just a coincidence
The food was not the best. The price was awfully high for the food quality and flavor. I have had better so I am able to compare.
Services has declined from outstanding to now typical. Restaurant is now pedestrian than prior visits. Food was good but should be for the price. Ambiance has changed.
The ambience is amazing. The food came out fairly quickly. The waiters are rude and rush you to order.
Noisy infant banging a spoon on the table diagonally adjacent disrupted the dining experience.
Great service, food and wine! The sommelier dida great job on pairing food and drinks. An experience to remember
The experience was a little mixed this time at Hakkasan.
I will definitely give 5-star to the waitress who served our table. Not only did she give us great advice on the order, but also how careful she was in taking care of the crowd.
The manager, on the contrary, was not at his best.
Beautiful place with no character and cold service. While food it is not tasty by any means, it is acceptable. Good place to go once to check it out and don't come back.
When you’re «welcomed» and told they don’t have my reservation, it’s a bad start. Put on a smile on youre face and maybe life smiles back! I had to show the confirmation and then it was ok. Way too big portions at the small tastingmenue. Make it smaller! Thats way moore sexy😘
Delicious food and many new taste experiences. Great Service and perfect recommendations for everyone. We enjoyed this extraordinary evening.
Amazing food and looking forward to trying Hakkasan in London
recommended by a friend this was such a find. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Though it’s large the small rooms give it a sense of intimacy. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. Even though this is in the theater district it is not a pre-theater destination. Plan on spending some time there and have a drink, or 2. Restaurant is pricey but so is living in NY.
Although the food was good, the service was very poor. Waited way too long for our drinks to arrive - so long infact our first courses had already been consumed!
Although expected to pay a premium, I would have also expected a discount given we had to ask for our drinks three times. I think the level of service is extremely poor for a restaurant that charges $ 8 for a bottle of still water...not worth it.
Well we are a little spoilt having been to Briton Street London on a number of occasions. This is very different, I guess close proximity to Times Square NYC , sets a tone .
The service was very good , friendly staff.
Very beautiful space and super comfortable. Everything delicious and elevated. Amazing Peking Duck and dumplings. Everything else was delicious including the desert!!! It's so hard to find great Chinese food in New York and it's very hard to find something amazing in the theater district, so this is a double treat!!! Highly recommend!!!!
Had a wonderful dinner after the theater. Great menu with wide variety of choices. Our guest is a vegan and she was thrilled with the selection of dishes. Service was attentive.
Hakkasan in London may be my favorite restaurant in that awesome city so when I booked the Hakkasan in my hometown of NY I was expecting a similar experience. NOT to happen.
First of all this location in NY is in the middle of touristy Times Square, the one in London is in Mayfair. A beautiful residential area that is fun to walk thru, unlike Times Square. Food was just as expensive $118 per person fixed course but so average and disappointing. This place should be way down your list of options in NY. Service was decent.
Eisıe cared us prefectly. Amazing experience
Food is not very traditional Chinese tasting
Great as usual. Love going there for Sunday lunch as a break from the craziness
This was the best Dim Sum I have ever had in the US. The service was excellent. Food was really delicious and truly Cantonese upscale dim sum.
Very average food that is extremely overpriced. The Bubba Gump of Asian food. Do yourself a favor, NYC has tons of great places to eat, this is not one of them. Small portions , way too expensive , save this place for the tourists
Everytime I go in London or NYC I miss the soft she'll crab!!! Not in the menu anymore.
We had pre-theater reservations and were delighted that the host asked us if we were attending a show. Service was top-notch - we didn't feel rushed, and we left in plenty of time for curtain. My sister and I each ordered a different sea bass entree - her honey sea bass was out of this world. Best sea bass I'd ever tasted. My sea bass stir fry was also excellent; I'd give it an 8 and give the honey sea bass an 11 on a 10-point scale. We also ordered a vegetable plate and vegetable fried rice, which had a nice smoky flavor. Couldn't have been happier with the meal. We'll be back.
