Hakkasan - New York Ratings and Reviews
Everything was excellent! The place looks really really cool. I can tell that The food is cooked and presented with passion and love. Great selection of drinks and wine. Amazing desserts!! We didn't even know about the existence of this place. We casually ended up looking at the menu outside and decided to book a reservation on opentable. Wow! I loved it!
Hakkasan was a great restaurant of chinese food.
Dimsums were so great, service was great.
However I felt it was too expensive.
I ordered brunch menu and I ate all the dishes I ordered but I felt still hungry.
I know, it is up to who I am, but I'm not a kind of gourmand or glutton.
The amount of all the dishes was so poor.
And I couldn't understand why we have to pay lots of money to this kinds of restaurant include Hakkasan.
Hakkasan is the one of the best chinese restaurant, and other famous restaurants may be same. Their foods and services must be good, but toooooo expensive.
That's the big deal and a big problem.
We need to be rational I think.
We were lucky enough to visit Hakkasan in resturant week. Althought most restrants offer a very limited menu i found the $38 3 course menu was great! And had a range of dishes. Service was excellent and food was very tasty and not to extravagent like some can be. We had large portions for a michelin star also. Great value for money!
While in NY, we always visit several top rated restaurant yet Hakkasan is our very best choice. I find some of their dish deserve Michelin stars. Yet what also distinguish this place are great staffs and level of services. I guarantee Hakkasan will deliver one memorable special dinner on any special occasion. It is getting harder to find such great place these days...
When people come from out of town ,specially out of the country and ask me which 'fancy' restaurants they could visit, hakkasan is the name which comes to my mind.
Very tasteful ambiance with very tasteful food.
Good music adds to the flavor.
The food is really good and the portions are big for an upscale restaurant.
The wait staff is amazing and highly attentive.
The staff is so polite that you forget you're in new York City. If you've lived in nyc you'll know what I mean.
Do visit this place if you want to visit a restaurant with Awesome Ambiance, awesome food and awesome service.
The gentleman who assisted us was truly amazing! He's timing was prompt and always near by to ensure everything was ok! as sometimes you can go out to eat and have staff hovering which is annoying! food was delicious we added a takeaway to the bill. our booking was near closing and we were the last ones but not once did we feel rushed or out of place! If I'm in New York I'd defo be back !
Disappointing food that was served luke warm. Sent some one dish back (fried dim sum) which was awful, and the replacement not much better. The service was also poor as we were served by an over sure of himself waiter. We also sent a compliant email about the experience afterwards and as yet have received no response. All round a very poor experience and nowhere near the standards of their London counterpart.
Food was delicious - make sure to order the Peking duck! Also our server was wonderfully attentive and had great food recommendations. We had a great time as a group of four for a festive Christmas Eve! One thing that was odd though was one of our party was asked to remove her hat but others in the restaurant were not asked to. It was the one off note to the evening... I'm hoping it wasn't profiling but it may have been.
was waiting for a table to release at 6pm(only hold for 15mins,will release the table once guest not showing up, 6:15 in this case). yes, it was early at 6pm! and they told me every single one was there at 6pm. Ok. then we had to dine in at the lounge on a large long table. shortly after we ordered our food, they placed a large group of people right next to us(seating exactly next to us without having an empty seat in between)!
We are American. Lived in Tokyo for couple years and moved back to USA. Were excited to have "authentic" Japanese food and scene when visiting NYC. But disappointed. Decor is not like izakaya in Japan. Food was good, but not great with exception of desert which was superb (mochi in green tea broth). Service was good but not great. Much better more authentic Japanese options in NYC.
