Good food, the price is reasonable. the wagyu steak was unfortunately tasteless. Music absolutely too loud for a normal conversation
Great ambiance and service, beautifully presented food
I went with two friends pre theatre. We do not eat meat, poultry or shellfish. The waiter was most accommodating and there were several choices for us. The waiter couldn’t have been nicer. The food is high end and very good. It was very busy and very noisy. Many business people but the crowd is mostly young and good looking. It is expensive but worth it.
Chinese food on another level, but very expensive.
Best Manhattan Chinese?
There are woefully few options in Manhattan for high end Chinese food these days. Notably, Tse Yang is long gone and the Shun Lee empire is a ghost of its former self (as Trump might say -- "so sad"). I visited Hakkasan Sunday night for the third time in the past several months, and it is making a strong claim on being the best and most consistent entrant. Every dish was excellent. The Beijing duck was the best I've had in the city in a very long time. Though the menu is not so comically long and varied as those in Chinatown, there are plenty of intriguing and delicious options. The waiter was helpful and decisive with recommendations, though not as charming or engaging as the servers on two previous visits. Though we drank only beer on this visit, the wine list is excellent and has a number of good, fairly priced options at different price points. Hakkasan is not cheap, but it offers excellent food and a very high quality overall experience at a fair price, and it will serve admirably for a family dinner or a special occasion. Well done!
I LOVE the food here, but... Went for the first time on a Saturday night and the pace was too packed with pre-theater-goers. Tables were sooooo uncomfortably crowded together. The white wine was served at room temperature (though they did take it back to chill further). The wrong appetizers were served to us. (The correct ones were delicious.) Too much time between the courses. In general, just too crowded, too busy, too noisy. I will always go back to Hakkasan, but probably will stick to brunch or weeknights.
Outstanding food in a glorious setting.
It was an amazing dining experience. The staff provided excellent service. The food was delicious! We cant wait to go back :)
We ordered 3 main dishes. Two were fine, but the waiter brought the wrong 3rd entree. (Chicken dish instead of tofu dish) It was too dark to notice, until we had eaten some of it and I questioned where the tofu was. The waiter just said he brought the wrong dish. We wanted the tofu dish anyway. The waiter did not offer to take the chicken dish off the bill. We ate it, but only because we thought it was what we ordered. Something should have been done instead of us having to pay for a fourth entree.
The venue is beautiful. The service was attentive without being obtrusive and the food was just spectacular. Expensive but worth it. Save it for a special occasion.
Ambiance, location, and food were top notch. Service was just bordering on rude without crossing that line. I will consider going back, but New York has tons of other options with equal quality food.
Staff was exceptionally helpful dealing with allergies, making menu recommendations, and welcoming. Food was excellent. Prices are insane, but you know that going in.
Wes and Leo, at the bar, marvelous hosts. Service —- friendly and efficient. Creative cocktails customized to taste. Amongst the very best bartenders in Manhattan.
The food didn’t seem fresh. We were motivated to visit the NYC one because of our fantastic experience in Miami. But NYC Hakkasan was disappointing. Besides, the service was so so. We had to tell the server thrice to bring my drink. I also feel little uncomfortable in my stomach after Sat’s visit.
One of my favorite restaurants, I have been to the one in Miami, Vegas, London and Mumbai the experience is always great and food is excellent
Excellent dining experience!
Probably the best Asian food I've tried in my life. Second time in Hakkasan but definitely not the last one
This place is outstanding. Extremely tasty food, beautifully presented. A bit pricey for relatively small portions, but an overall great experience.
From the bartender to servers, everyone was so wonderful! Excellent service with amazing food!!
Great evening, waiter extremely attentive and made it fun.
Been to other Hakkasan Restaurant. Never in doubt as to service, ambiance and GOOD FOOD
Wonderful anniversary... everithing was perfect!!!
Food great, service very good, friendlier welcome when you enter would be nice.
Starting from the host, who was very rude to the waiter, who clearly didn't wanted to work that day, one of my worst dinning experience ever, the food was just meh...
Favorite Chinese in the city! Delicious every time and great atmosphere.
The entrance is not very well marked and at first we thought it was the brightly lit apartment building adjacent to it but at second glance you notice the large imposing door with a cordoned off door mat and you realise this is it. Once you've gone through a second imposing door you enter a long dimly lit hallway to the hostess table. The friendly hostess seated us promptly and menus and water appeared soon after. We opted for one of the 3 set taster menus which had an array of dim sum, fish, pork, chicken, shrimp, as well as mixed vegetables and fried squid. The main menu as is the way in Chinese food is supposed to have all the dishes out at the same time. This did not happen and we were almost full on what was in front of us when almost 30 minutes later the chicken and pork came out. When we pointed this out to the server he seem to take it as a personal affront and only when we kept questioning this delay did he say yes they were a little late and should have come out together. He should have been less sensitive since we know he wasn't cooking the food. After that he avoided our table all together so trying to get a second drink took some time. Trying to get the bill took some more extra time. An offer of an after dinner drink to make up for the matter would have been nice. This spoilt what was otherwise a very nice dining experience. The food and ambiance was good and we will come back nonetheless.
An enjoyable experience with a nice selection of cocktails and an interesting and tasty menu. Lots of opportunities to share a range of food choices.
One complaint is spotty service. Our waiter appeared with menus and then disappeared for a while - without drink or appetizer orders. Knew he was still there since we saw him walking back and forth a few times - just forgot about us. Fortunately, other waiters and staff were more than pleased to help out, so the the overall experience was still good.
Planning on visiting again.
Amazing meal. We will be back.
Whilst Hakkasan is expensive it is really worth it for special occasions. We go every Christmas week and it’s a highlight of the holidays. The food is simply amazing.
Food was not at the level I would expect for such a highly touted restaurant. Service was excellent and sommelier was spot on. Overall not worth the price though.
Great food and ambience. Really enjoyed our first visit to Hakkasan
Delicious food, impeccable service, luxe ambiance. Everything you want out of a nice dinner!
One of the best on the city fresh best ingredients, best seafood, beautiful restaurant
Peking duck excellently prepared, as was everything. Cool vibe. Quite pricey.
Normal dinner, had a better experience in Shanghai
Do not go. Terrible place. Food is so-so, very over priced, and portions are minuscule. After dropping $200 we left hungry and full of regret.
Ottima cucina e servizio veloce
Really, just okay. I was hoping to replicate my excellent Miami Hakkasan experience, but to no avail. The food was smothered in sauce, and the meats (chicken, pork and beef) were just okay. Again, maybe because I so enjoyed their other restuarant, I was let down in NYC, But I won't be rushing back.
Very unique menu items. Beautiful presentation. Wait staff is top notch. Pastry chef is the best! If you’re looking for a special place to go , this is the place. Expensive but worth every penny!
Went here for Christmas Eve. Peking Duck was, and is, the best in NYC. Service was impeccable. This place doesn't disappoint.
