I knew this would be awesome from the moment I walked in. The ambiance made this dinner more of an experience than a plain dinner. The dumplings were better than any I’ve ever had and the food was amazing and not too greasy. The cocktails were also amazing.
Delicious, out of this world. The only issue was that when we got there our table was not ready and they put us in a spot where all the AC was hitting our heads, was uncomfortable for our 9 yr old. We had to change seats, we where placed on another uncomfortable seat, there was no light, we couldn't read the menu. Our waiter of course was very nice and also realized that it was dark, we had to use our flashlights from our cell phones to read the menu. Desserts were out this world. Happy to celebrate my husband's bday. Prices are fair and we will be returning AGAIN!!!!
An elegant oasis in the midst of midtown hustle bustle. We came for a pre-theater dinner and left with a new favorite. Yes, it's a chain, but the food was exceptional, the service spot on and the ambience was peaceful and calm. Not easy to attain in the city.
We brought our moms to NYC and we knew Hakkasan would be their favorite part. We were right. The food is beyond compare and the service is first rate. We appreciated John for making helpful suggestions and for being so warm and kind to our mothers. Thank you to the chefs and the entire waitstaff for a perfect experience.
Snobby establishment with subpar Chinese food. Not worth the value. I expect food quality like we have experienced in China for this price.
Food was not seasoned at all! Disappointed. Overpriced
Love Love Love this restaurant on every level. Great service, fantastic food and great ambience. We go every time we visit nyc
We had a great experience. The food was interesting and excellent. The service was great, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in upscale, Chinese food.
The food was very good, fantastic ambience, and good cocktails.
Service was a bit slow. We asked for white rice which never came to the table in the over two hours we were there. A cocktail drink ordered 30 mins with the request to rush never made it to the table.
Love the food and service, unfortunately too noisy and difficult to talk or hear yourself
Another spectacular visit to Hakkasan. Delicious food as always.
This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant in NYC. And has been since the space opened. Food fantastic. Service perfect. Atmosphere sophisticated but comfortable. Cocktails amazing. The perfect package.
It never get's old. Great food and service and one of the best vibe's in the city. Literally could eat there every week and never get tired of it! Dim sum heaven!
Theater dinner. I would only recommend as a theater option. Except for the crispy duck salad which was outstanding the rest of the meal portion was sort of plain and not really seasoned. Considering the price I'm not sure I would go back for those. The desserts were mixed as well. I had a lemon one which was nice but the Black Forest while pretty, was just so so.
Fantastic food - but expensive. Chinese food elevated to find dining. That said, we had a nice meal with desert (no drinks) for $55/person.
Impeccable in every way every time. What a wonderful place.
Good food and ambience. Not too noisy. A bit pricey though.
The $7 up charge on the $168 tasting menu seemed beneath this otherwise high class restaurant.
I’m so disappointed It took 15 minutes for a staff member to acknowledge us and bring us a menu and water. The waiter came took our order and our didn’t come until after our apps were finished. Our dishes were cleared when we weren’t finished our apps. The air conditioning wasn’t working very well. We asked for for a knife to have with our dinner. We asked 3 different people and it never came , we had to share our knives.
Beautiful restaurant that I heard a lot about. It was gourmet Chinese food beautifully presented.
Had a wonderful dinner after the theater. The food was delicious and service was attentive. Waiter was very helpful with our menu selections.
Very expensive and overpriced. Food was ok but nothing special.
Despite the Japanese sounding name, this is Chinese restaurant. Very stylish near theaters. VG dumplings, Peking Duck and wine list. Very good service. Will repeat.
Steamed dim sum platter was amazing, and the Pipa duck was very tasty (though expensive). The amaranth leaf vegetable dish was unfortunately very bland. I had to request chili oil to give it some flavor.
We had a great experience. My husband has shellfish allergies and our waiter Vincent knew the menu throughout. He was able to tell him what was safe for him to eat and what wasn’t! He gave me great recommendations for the main dish!
Overall terrific service and great food!
Amazing, best expérience and very nice place.
Do it it’s fabulous.
Best as usual my favorite spot in NYC food ambience and service can’t be better our server Arthuro was amazing and my favorite table #10. I would like to thank all for having that table reserved for me. Gracias!
Post theater seating. Adept seating. Fast service and tasty food
Delicioso. Dim sum platter realmente espectacular.
My dining experience at Hakkasan was wonderful. The server was able to describe in detail what each dish has. He also recommended the most popular dishes.
Our first Hakkasan experiences were at the original and second London location. We were amazed by the inventiveness of the kitchen. And a very sleek bar with multiple dining rooms. Then came New York. And so did we. We still love the Duck Salad and vegetarian chicken and rarely can get beyond those dishes (with some Chinese broccoli) to experiment further - at least in the last few visits. Service, ambiance, food and wine selections are all excellent. Our only comment is that we wish we didn’t have to live with such VERY high wine markups. Ouch. Maybe they’ll explore 1/2 price after 10 or Wine Mondays or some other means of, at least temporary relief. But don’t let that stop you. Go, enjoy. Go again.
First, the service was impeccable.
Second, the drinks were good. I got a lychee martini that was okay. I don’t usually eat sweets and tend to think everything sugary is overly sweet. This lychee martini, however, needed a little more sweet. That being said, I drank 4 of them. So it couldn’t have been bad.
Third, the food was very good. I’ve eaten at a lot of good restaurants in midtown. The food here was very good and we got a lot of it for what we paid. We got a chef’s special menu. It came with 2 appetizers, 4 entrees with fried rice and 2 desserts. The appetizers were an assorted dim sum and salt & pepper pork. Both were very good. My only comment is on the hargow in the dim sum app. It was nothing special. The entrees included (1) honey black cod, which was very good and not overly sweet, (2) curry shrimp, also good, (3) chicken curry, this was okay, and (3) snow peas, which were okay. The fried rice was surprisingly good.
Lastly, the desserts weren’t awesome but I also don’t like sweets so I’m not the right person to pass judgment on these.
Overall, it was a good dinner. We will be back!
Really nice place. Service seemed a bit scruffy at the beginning, and pressured to take order, but improved.
Food was excellent.
I could have done without the lounge music
I would just suggest more flexibility with allergies, as well as maybe a separate menu...
The restaurant setup is beautiful and the food is delicious.
Very disappointed !!! Over an hour wait past our reservation for really bad food. Not anywhere as good as Tao, buddakan, or even hakkassan in Miami . Save your money and stay far away. This place will eventually close
Food was excellent. Service however was dismal. I waited 30mins to order a drink and then 15 mins for a drink to arrive before my food order was taken!
Great food and great service. I would come back again!
We had a sampler which consisted of 5 or 6 smallish plates with saki . It was incredible , inspite of all of the food, we ate it all including dessert . I highly recommend this place , always make it here when in nyc .
Looking forward to our anniversary at Hakkasan. Hostess was gracious. Food was amazing, however the wait staff wasn't. Aside from disappearing the second half of the evening, we purchased a tasting menu, which they brought all of the dishes at the same time. We felt rushed to get to all of the entree's while still warm. Delicious food, but we've had better service at diners.
