An outstanding experience from dim sum to lobster typhoon style to chocolate dumplings. Great cocktails too. Attention to detail was obvious. John was a great waiter and the rest of the staff was on top of their game as well.
Rude waiter who made a passive aggressive comment to my mother on the way out
The food and experience is always great.
Amazing restaurant! Would definitely recommend to anyone!
The service and ambiance was good, our waiter John was helpful and nice.
However, the pekin duck was so overwhelming and fatty I could not enjoy it even though I just went there to have some duck. I thought it would be shredded duck meat to eat with hoisin sauce and thin pancakes, however it was sliced big pieces of duck meat.
The noodles were OK but really greasy and had big omelette pieces in it (I know it should have eggs in it)
The dessert (choco pod) was good and actually it was the only good thing we had!
After the dinner my husband and I had upset stomach and heartburn that we dont usually have even we have fast food.
Unfortunately We didnt had what we expected(as we love the London branch)
About the prices; we had two coctails(each $20) half duck, Hakka noodle, cod fish and one dessert which cost us $260, so overpriced and unfortunately does not deserve that price! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
We were catching up with relatives we hadn't seen for a very long time, so we sat & talked after everyone else had gone. Staff was wonderful about not disturbing us since we weren't disturbing anyone else! Ambiance was fabulous. Food was very good but not quite as special as the surroundings.
Great food and service. Pricey, but that is expected in NYC.
The service was not nearly the same level as it used to be. Asking multiple times for things and items being forgotten all together. Also I’m not sure if there is new policy regarding the bills but was never brought any change (was due back roughly $50 which is less than the tip I was planning on leaving but never saw any change)
Perfection as always! We’ve learned after years of eating here to space out our ordering so as not feel rushed. If you do that it’s a wonderful evening with great food and professional service. We will be back next time we are in the city!
I would warn my friend to check menu before ordering.
I made a mistake and ordered two glasses of red wine each $28 for a total of $56!!!! Almost as much as my duck!
Food was good but our Waitress was smug and aloof. We asked for ice for our water that we never received and when one of our plates was presented she condescendingly asked if we needed an explanation. Would not return.
Took my mom (who was visiting from Texas) to Hakkasan for lunch, and we had such a good time. The dumplings! The sea bass! The beef! And so much more — all utter perfection. Sadly, no room for dessert, but we’ll be back!
I was charged 3 times by the general manager for the same bill amount.Hopefully the amount will be replaced by the bank
We will return to this restaurant during a future trip to NYC. Food was very good and some very interesting dishes. We especially like the duck salad. And the Sak wine list was quite impressive. Interesting restaurant, unique menu, great food and service.
This restaurant never disappoints. Our favorite strategy is to arrive early for a cocktail at the bar and then On to a fabulous dinner.
Very expensive, small portions that have no taste.
We eat in Hakkasans in London and always have a great meal,
So when we was in New York recently, Hakkasans was on our Restaurant list to go to.
There was no Salt and Pepper Squid available, then our Wagu beef arrived late and wasn't great, was chewy, we also ordered Hakka noddles, these arrived after we had eaten !!
Not a great meal at all, was a real let down. Would think twice about going back to Hakkasans New York.
I was prepared four meals for the Thanksgiving dinner, and I made an reservation two weeks advanced. And, I arrived the Hakkasan on time, but they still took about 1 hour to prepare our table. I felt it's wasting my time. And, we had been told all four meals we wanted are sold out. Therefore, two people spent $265 and 1 hour waiting time. Food are good, but the service I did not recommend.
Pricey but excellent. Nice as a splurge before taking in a play.
We just got engaged and were excited to try out Hakkasan!
My partners chicken dish was rubbery and you couldn’t bite through it! We had champagne and sat with empty glasses and had to ask to be topped up! Wouldn’t recommend! Hundreds of better restaurants to go too!
roasted peking duck was one of their specialty and that’s the reason why we chose hakkasan to celebrate thanksgiving dinner but only to find out when we were ready to order that they ran out of peking duck on thanksgiving day. very disappointed.
I go at least monthly. It's a very delicious, elegant experience except for the boom-boom bass in the background.
The manager says they can't turn it down (or switch to jazz, classical or other musical form) because it's a corporate dictate. Really: You want your elegant, expensive restaurant to have the same soundtrack as a dive bar? Because I like the restaurant so much, I keep forgetting about this annoyance until the next time I arrive.
We went to Thanksgiving for a celebration and it was a disappointing experience for the special day and plus, for the same amount cost, we could have gone to another place for way better service. Three things they didn't do to meet our expectation for a restaurant which used to have Michelin star and we're not picky customers at all - (1) they didn't have a few dishes and the waitress didn't care to mention when the menu was given (2) they made us to wait for 45 minutes for the first dish and forgot about the last dish until we reminded them twice (3) the fried noodle was plain like the cook forgot to put seasoning. One more thing they didn't do anything special though we mentioned the purpose of the reservation. We wouldn't continue the routine to go there for special occasions.
The food is absolutely wonderful. We had their three-course theater menu and the offerings were perfect. We enjoyed everything and made it to our performance with time to spare. Definitely recommended!
