Still great but slipping abit. Don’t rest on your laurels, ny is a tough market !! We had fantastic martinis , the dim sum platter was also fantastic , the Chilean sea bass the best quality , the bok Choi - perfect , chicken fried rice good but a little oily . I’ll return but it feels abit stale .
Great wine list for food pairings. Attentive service and always delicious particularly the Peking duck
Music was too loud for the restaurant but overall nice experience
Delicious meal and amazing service.
Was underwhelmed. London Hakkasan (both locations) far superior. Called in advance to ask if they could do a vegetarian dim sum lunch, was told yes, also asked upon checking in and was told yes, then server said no.
Nice atmosphere and good service. Food pretty pedestrian and nothing special
Our server was terrible, seemed like she had no interest in being at her job that day. The table seated next to us also felt the same way. She messed up our order and brought the Prawns in after we almost done eating our rice. Never came back to follow-up. After we were finished another server came up to ask us for desert.
Never expected such mediocre service at Hakkasan. Food and drinks were good.
Slow service, unpleasant host and food is just so-so.
On the other hand it is very noisy ....
Order was mixed up and lunch came very late. Kitchen had an issue, but server should have notice that our order was very delayed as well. I had to ask our server for status.
Manager was nice and dealt with the situation very quickly.
Perhaps more training for kitchen and servers to pay attention to each table. But food was good and looking forward to trying other locations
Bad bad bad bad
An elegant dinner. Do give yourself 2 hours- it is a great and cannot be rushed.
First time we went on a late Saturday lunch and let me tell you it was a great experience, we were able to speak and hear ourselves! However, the price of some of the dishes is becoming ridiculously high. We ordered for the first time the Rib Eye was 42 dollars for a dozen small pieces of steaks, the stripped bass royal was $50 and less than a small filet of fish. BTW, this 2 dishes were the most disappointing and I will hopefully remember not to order them
I don't mind paying those prices when justified.
Fabulous food, service, and ambience. Wish it weren’t so $$$$$... the peashoots, seafood clay pot, tofu and aubergine Dishes were great, and pumpkin puff and dumplings lovely too. Stephen our waiter deserves a old star!
I’ve been to the restaurant many times but this time was disappointed at the beginning because the reservation slots were from 4.30pm, we were on our way and I called the restaurant to make sure it’s open (it was around 4.15) and I got the positive answer. But when we got there the door was locked, I was on the phone with the call center and we waited for 10 minutes at the door even though the staff was inside already
Everything is fine except rice is not soft enough. Food portion is small-medium. Service is very friendly and caring. Peking duck is so delicious. Will definitely recommend the restaurant to my friends and family.
This was the most wonderful experience in dining that we have ever had in NYC! The ambiance, service & the food were outstanding! Our waiter picked the dishes! Each were delicious! He ordered the perfect amount! Cannot wait to return!
Great food and service. A bit dark, run down and overpriced.
It is expensive but the food is wonderful. We love the atmosphere as well. What else do you need to know?
It was our anniversary and they recognized it
Great food great place
While the food was flavorful, the overall experience was severely lacking in terms of fine dining in New York or any other major metropolitan area.
Firstly, the restaurant had plenty of open seating but we were seated at the first table upon entering the dining area, which happened to be in a tight space in front of a staff ordering system and plates/utensils station which made the ambiance feel quite tight and uncomfortable.
The next issue was the service by our lead waitress. We were not greeted upon sitting down and were not given any background about the menu or any particular items of note (including any suggestions for tasting menus, etc.). In fact, we were not asked if we had any food allergies. The first interaction was her asking if we were "ready to order". After ordering, she asked bluntly "do you want rice", for which we said yes, we'd like an order of the egg and scallion fried rice.
After the dim sum platter to start, we received our main course (Black Truffle Duck, Crispy Cod and Three Style Mushrooms) and after waiting 5 minutes did not receive the fried rice. I was able to flag one of the food runners to follow up and then the waitress came over and said it would be ready in a few minutes, for which we waited another 5 minutes for the rice while staring at our food get cold with an incomplete meal. No communication, apology or offers to compensate for this were made by our waitress.
Not to mention, in the notes to our OpenTable reservation, we indicated that this was our anniversary and there was no acknowledgment or effort to provide us with a special night.
It is disappointing that Hakkasan NY could offer this type of dining experience to a couple spending close to $400 on a meal. I would likely receive better service at the neighborhood diner. The only positive was that the food was tasty and the woman handling our wine order (guessing sommelier) was pleasant and attentive. Truly a Times Square tourist trap.
Good food, staff is friendly, but avoid pre-theater unless you have over 2-hours to spare. They were aware that we had theater tickets but couldn’t get our order out in a reasonable time and gave us no warning of a problem. After we chased them down and identified the long wait for our food the manager suggested that it was our fault for ordering too late, which was completely untrue. They also gave us an excuse that the restaurant was busy, again, not our problem. They tried to spring into action and accommodate our meal, even gave a discount, but the mood had already been ruined. They could’ve handled the situation much better.
The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious. We were disappointed that we had to rush through dinner (we allowed 2 hours) to get to theater because the kitchen was backed up. We expected better from this restaurant, especially at these prices.
Food was delicious!!!! I will going back soon for more.
Everything was amazing, the food, servers and the ambiance of the place
The food was delicious!! We had the appetizer basket with 8 pieces, all of which were excellent. We also had the pork ribs, also very good. The shrimps in a special sauce were outstanding. Service was excellent throughout.
I have been to Hakkasan numerous times, and usually find their food a bit too salty for my taste. I was much pleased this time that all their dishes come out just right in taste . Hope it will keep this consistent.
Food and service were both below average. Not in line with expectations of a fine dining restaurant
They really did not server authentic Chinese food. The quality of the ingredients are inarguably great but the dishes served did not show much of skills in terms of cooking.
Hakkasan is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always freshly prepared with precision and is aesthetically beautiful. The service is always terrific. I enjoy the ambiance and always have a great time here.
The food is always quite good but the service is fair . I waited a good 20 minutes for a waitress to bring me a menu , ask what I wanted to drink . Meanwhile there was a party going on in the kitchen where the staff was chatting continuously, laughing loudly . Try to be seated as far away as possible! The food never disappoints.
Everything was great but the food was a big disappointment. From the time food was ordered, it was served in less than 5 minutes. Is it pre-made? Taste was average. Ambience, and service was excellent.
The lady on the phone made it unpleasant even before arriving. Advising it was too pack and being 8 min late would make them not gursntee our table. We got there and rest was more than half empty. So not only she was rude. But she also lied.
As far as ambiance there was a group of 3 ladies that looked dressed way under the dress code. With gym like clothes tight and pecs almost on the air not to say the extremely short shorts and then very badly dressed. That wasn’t business casual dress code aprópiate.
Somelier was the only GREAT part. She was amazing.
Server we had a change of waiter and the last one was to say the least very stinky. The body odor was disturbing.
Food has gone down in quality the duck salad that was amazing was extreme greedy and fatty.
We love Hakkasan- The service, food and drinks are always top notch. Make sure you order the Peking Duck..... amazing!!!!
this was our second time at Hakkasan in NYC and again it was a great experience. the food is always exceptional, the service is attentive and the noise level is a bit extreme.
Overall good, but overpriced. Food is good, but not great.
Fabulous! Lovely food and ambiance.
Pricey Chinese fare that I have enjoyed more at Tao. Interesting cocktails and very good service.
The food is good but some of the entrees could have been better. The duck seemed " mushy" and the I think the dough on some of the dim sum was overcooked. Great ribs and dumplings though.
Vegetarian dishes were good but nothing "wow" about them.
What can I say? Amazing ambiance and delicious food! Such instagrammable pictures.
