Fantastic dining experience! The lounge was excellent and John provided impeccable service...I have recently been to Hong Kong and dined at 2 Michelin started Chinese restaurants, and the meal I had at Hakkasan was easily as good! Highly recommend!
We've been to the NYC Hakkasan many times. This visit, the food was delicious although a bit overpriced, and the service was very good. I was disappointed that the table was all sticky when we sat down and when I put my arm on the table, I felt all the stickiness. For a Michelin star restaurant, that should not happen.
Great food and a lovely romantic ambiance! I would recommend it highly.
The food is very good but not special enough for the prices. We had lunch with only two of us so this review is based on a limited sample of 2 appetizers and 3 dishes.
Vegetarian dumplings were very greasy
Beef was ok
Fish was very dry and tasteless
Lettuce wraps average
Pork and chicken dumplings average
Food was very good when they first opened.
Hostess took forever to appear and seat us
Server was very nice and helpful.
Overall food needs to go back to when it first opened.
Very trendy place. Overall the food was very good. Portions were small and pricey. Service was excellent, very attentive.
Mal wieder gut gegessen.
A real artistic and contemporary take on traditional dim sum dishes! Service was nearly impeccable, good host.
This is a great restaurant!! The sweet and sour pork is the best ever. The duck perfect. Great wine list even by the glass. Service impeccable!!
The ambiance is very quiet and sleek. Very relaxing place. My fiancé and I are vegan their meals were amazing. The service was incredible. They were all very professional and eager to help in anyway. Just to give those that are a bit frugal you are paying for great food and service which is well worth it.
This was my first time at this restaurant and I was blown away. I had no idea that it would be such a glorious experience. We had a taster's menu and each and every item was sublime--and gorgeous. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere stark, modern, but lovely. I cannot wait to return.
This restaurant always delivers. Great, classy atmosphere with cool decor, innovative but not esoteric food, very good portions, and great wine list. Also, service is gracious and polished.
They serve so quickly and so well that it is easy to complete a pre-theater meal and be right in the Theater District.
Great food and ambiance.
We really enjoyed the lunch.
Probably best Hakkasan I have been .
Hostess is rude and impatient. Why put such a high strung person in the front facing public position? It suggests an arrogance on behalf of Ownership. We told the hostess that we had an 8 pm show and that urgency was supposedly acknowledged but still service was slowish - we did not get out till 7:53 making us run to the theater. I'll dwell on the negatives first - prices are skyhigh and wine pricing is stratopheric. We had a half bottle of red priced at $74 and it was by no means the most expensive half bottle- no doubt - 400% markup?
Now the positive - food and presentation... best honey glazed sea bass i've ever tasted- smooth ,melt in your mouth buttery delicious ness- great sauteed dumplings and well executed pea shoots stir fried w/ garlic. If you're a foodie - it's worth it ...but be prepared to tolerate some service and pricing indignities.
Awesome! Wanna try the supreme course next time!
Had dinner with friends after the theater. Many choices, very good food and great service. There is something for everyone including vegans.
Beautiful Restaurant, we arrived at the last seating of the night, so it was very quiet. The Peking Duck was Excellent, and all the cocktails were great. Our Waitress was so welcoming and knowledgeable, she really made it a nice experience.
The restaurant was quiet (weekday). Suited us as we wanted to talk and the dim sum was delicious and the staff really nice and efficient. Well worth the detour to 43rd street!
I had a really great time with my friend. The waiters and all the steps were very nice and kind but not robotic, and the food was great overall. The scallop was a bit bitter though, other than that I had no complaint. I would like to recommend this restaurant and definitely visit again...!
Owful and rude welcome
Some guests arrived 25 minutes late and table was already given and where nearly thrown out
Stayed a while in the bar and great service which compensated the reception unwelcome and then given a table and spent good time
Came on a Saturday to order the Theater Menu before a show. Was told that it is only available M-F. Website makes no mention of that exclusion. Seemed like a bait and switch thing. Disappointed.
It’s great, but will be the most expensive Chinese food you have ever had!
excellent asian food. had lunch in the san francisco restaurant. beautiful decor. is quite expensive which will deter many people from the restaurant. one can see the menu on line. so, if cost is not an issue, go for it. otherwise, pick some place else
Our dinner was outstanding! The hostess gave us our preferred table and we loved it. Our server, Sofia, was knowledgeable and attentive and very nice. The food was delicious.
The food is always excellent. Fresh and expertly made. Portions are small so it is expensive to do family style with 4 people and be full.
Everything was excellent as usual. The food, service and ambiance was beautiful! Looking forward to dine with you again.
This was our 2nd visit to Hakkasan. The first time, I was blown away. This time not so much. When I order a martini in NYC $$$, I expect it to be ice cold, clean and fresh and filled to the top! The one I received was poured almost half way, flat and boring. Besides the Dim Sum sampling, which didn't taste as good as the first time for some reason, all the other food was fried. IDK. I was disappointed.
Totally overpriced mediocre Chinese food. So many places you can go in NYC for great, tasty, and affordable Chinese food instead of this place.
Steve was outstanding! Remembered us from a previous visit and even knew I forgot to ask for chicken in the out-of-the-world Hot n’ Sour soup. This is by far my favorite restaurant in the world for consistent quality and delicious food.
When we go to the city we always dine at Hakkasan for a reason...the great food! Service can be a bit hit or miss and the server on this visit got off to a bit of a rough start but in the end the service was very good. Part of the rough start might have had to do with how busy the restaurant was. Only complaint...they need to redo their wine list to categorize wines better.
We enjoyed our dinner here, but found it a little too noisy.
Great place! A little pricey but worth the occasional meal
The seat cushion was ripped in the booth area. Food was delicious and service was attentive.
A beautiful space with elegant and delicious Chinese food. The bar is beautiful and buzzy!
Didn’t really live up to the hype. Definitely really good Chinese food- I was expecting unusual flavors but it tasted like just good Chinese food which you can probably get for a fraction of the price in Chinatown! Dessert and cocktail (red chili margarita) was the best part of the meal.
Everything from the decor, the service, & the food were excellent. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a nice dinner before a show
We were told seating in the bar and expected to sit in the bar area. This literally means you take your chance at a bar seat. No reservation whatsoever. The food is unique and the staff tries to please - but even though we have been there many times, there is no familiarity offered. If you are in the mood for this type of food, Mr. Chows blows Hakkasan away.
Great service. Quick but not pushy. Very attentive :)
Wonderfully prepared and presented food at ridiculously high prices. Portions are very small so be prepared to spend dollars.
