Good food. Noisy because of relatively small space with loud music. Very good service.
The Omakase menu is great value, highly recommended!
Authentic Japanese food. Excellent service. My wife and I have things we get every single time but we also try a little something from the specials menu. Great experience every single time.
loved it - reminded us of Japan and our favorite restaurant in West LA - will be back real soon
The food was outstanding as always but the waitress kept rushing us to check and leave. Ruined the dinner for us.
This is a nice Izakaya in Costa Mesa with a diverse menu. Service was extremely attentive and the food came rapidly. Everything was good, but I would not say outstanding.
We got there earlier than expected and the person in the front was able to seat us. Great customer service. We would go back again!!
I was recommended Hachi by a friend and now I will be doing my part to recommend EVERYONE I know to go to Hachi. So good. I am still dreaming of that uni & beef sashimi.
excellent izakaya - everything we had was delicious and the service was great. Will be back and will recommend to others
I’ve been here 4 times in almost a week and a half and every time something new seems to impress me. Such good food, great service and a fun atmosphere.
Always love it here! Super friendly service + great food, from the grilled skewers to some fun small plates and seafood preparations. The special carpaccio (red snapper with yuzu) was excellent!
Awesome experience! Well done 👍🏼
We stumbled upon Izakaya Hachi while we lunched at a ramen restaurant in the same center last Sunday. We looked up Yelp and found this restaurant has great reviews. So we decided to give it a try and made a reservation at Open Table for dinner the same day. We loved everything we ordered. The service was great. All the servers were very attentive and pleasant. We ordered beef tongue, chicken skewers, wagyu beef salad, blue fin tuna sashimi and Shabu Shabu. Everything was delicious, very tasty and fresh. The beef tongue was cut very thick. This was the first time we had such a thick cut beef tongue. It was very tender and juicy. The chicken skewers were very tasty, fresh and tender. The shabu shabu was great too. Excellent food, excellent service! We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to all of our friends.
The server came up to us at the last moment saying there are people waiting can you leave? Dining in a restaurant is an experience and she definitely ruined it for me and my group.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Creative items. Nice variety on menu. Grilled items too salty.
Great food and great service
If you want good food experience Hachi will not disappoint!!!
The service was superb despite the fact we were 45 minutes late to scheduled. They took us in after understanding the situation and provided exact food and drinks. It was actually a bit crowded for it was Mother's day, but they still managed to serve food promptly on time and gave mom a red carnation before we leave. Will definitely recommend to friends and family
This is my third visit, and I brought my colleagues for a management dinner. We ordered practically the entire menu, and everybody loved the different textures and flavors. Service is always conscientious, attentive, and staff is always smiling. We will all be back together, and I'm sure everybody will be back individually as well.
It was nice and clean the place.
My second visit, and service was consistently amazing as was the food. Will be back very soon.
REAL Japanese food! I swear Hachi is my favorite restaurant and one of the best Japanese restaurants in Orange County.
Hachi is as good as usual, we love to go this place for friends hangout and to have small tapas and hotpot together.
I love japanese food and i’ve been to many japanese restaurants. This is hands down my favorite. The simplicity of the menu and the authenticity of every food item is top notch. Great service also. Parking tip- park behind building next to medical building as plaza lot gets full.
Best izakaya in the OC! Authentic Japanese classy bar food with a good selection of sake and shochu
Love Hachi. It's one that we frequent regularly on our short list of favorites.
The food here is really tasty. It can be a little pricey, but I think it is worth it. They can get busy, so making a reservation would be a good idea.
We took a Christmas dinner course and I know its fancy small tapas but for $100 for each person was still not enough
Food quality was great
But we were the only one who ordered ...
Good Hospitality Service and Great Authentic Japanese Foods and Sake.
Birthday we went. We are very happy for good food especially “Notsu Nane”
Food was mediocre at best. They completely destroyed our Thanksgiving evening. Two of ordered appetizers were so salty, it was impossible to eat. I could understand when such things happen when chefs are in hurry, but restaurant was almost empty and they have 3 chefs on duty. We always friendly and leave very generous tips. Who knows, maybe they did it on purpose, because we are not Asian. Anyway, it's OC and there are so many places with a good Japanese food where we always can get a great dinner.
We have got a bad experience with a food here second time in the row. It used to be our favorite place to go, but we are going to avoid it now.
Loud very not that busy but sever didn’t take off plates
This was my second visit to Hachi. It was my birthday this time around and my friend was treating me out to nice dinner. Even though it was just the two of us, we ordered quite a bit of food. We had two different types of fresh oysters, beef tongue, pork cheek, gobo chips, battera, stir-fried beef intestine, croquette, scallop risotto, and the pork shabu! The beef tongue is thick cut, and always a must. The scallop risotto was the best surprise of the night, with its cheesy deliciousness. The main star as the thick pork bone broth that was the shabu shabu. The broth itself was super creamy and delicious. Definitely a great place to take a date and for special occasions. The prices are a little step, but the food will always be good!
Good food for the money if you like Izakaya style menus.
Some of the more expensive item we ordered ( steak) was cooked ok(medium) but was dry no taste even with sauce. Very cheap meat
Great food and service. I would love to go back again.
Great quality Japanese pub food. Can get crowded and the food takes a while to come out. So be prepared to spend time there chatting. Crowd is very lively. Will come back again.
It's our favorite spot for special occasions. It's high end, and worth it.
