This place was closed down?!? And OpenTable or Habanas failed to tell us on the eve of our anniversary having no where else to eat. Very upset, won’t be using this app again
This place is closed . This site is the problem . Keep up to date with closures . We made a reservation for Valentines and it was closed . We met other unfortunate couples at the door with the same reservations made to a closed restaurant.
We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner to find the restaurant closed. This is after they texted yesterday to confirm our reservation. This was horrible business practice. It really would have been nice to have received a phone call or email/text that they would not be open.
Made Valentine's Day reservations....Arrived at the restaurant to find that it was "moving, looking for a new location ". You should not be able to make reservations at this restaurant if it is not open. Total inconvenience.
This restaurant is closed, yet the app is still taking reservations, and there is no way to let either the restaurant or Open Table know. A lot of couples probably had their Valentines Day evening ruined.
Arrived to find a note in window...closed...looking for new location. So we didn’t eat there
Food was flavorful and delicious. The service was great! The place needs some work though. It’s almost like it’s half sports bar and half dive.
Food was okay, and good value. Strong bleach smell made the experience difficult though. Food could have used stronger seasoning.
The food and service is always great. Love the empanadas! Was excited to be there while filming was going on for Check Please.
Excellent as always, love having this restaurant in Alameda!
Waitress was definitely not attentive, maybe it’s a Sunday night. Mojito was not as good as previous experiences. Will return, but avoid Sun dinner perhaps.
I have a great time with my family my kids love it.
I had the corn Chowder soup that was EXCELLENT. My partner had the bean soup and he said it too was really good. His Kabob was dry but had a good taste. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Carpaccio and it came overcooked and very dry. I didn't eat much of it. The waitress was cleaning off the plates and noticed I hadn't eaten much. I told her I thought it would be raw. She thought I wanted something else. The chef made me another dish and it was EXACTLY what I wanted. She boxed it to go for me. I will definitely go again.
We came close to closing time, and the waiter could not have been nicer. Drinks, food order, and wine all happened in a flash. We were not hurried, and indeed we felt completely at ease. Pleasant atmosphere and genuine Cuban food. The array of Mojitos is not to be missed, no matter how you feel about a “conventional” mojito. Lots of character here, and reasonably priced.
The staff was super friendly thanks!
The last time we went, the food and service went downhill fast. It’s sad because it was such a great place before.
This is one of the best places for Cuban food. The service was very good. It's a very fun place to eat and/or have drinks. Very authentic.
I loved having the Ropa Vieja and plantain chips. It reminded me of being in Lain America even the though the food is traditionally Cuban. Service was very nice, and I liked the murals on the walls.
A variety of delicious tapas and entrees to select. Good drinks. Fun and energetic atmosphere.
Arrived at the restaurant for my 11 AM reservation and the place was closed. No movement inside and and no one ever called to explain. Beware
We try to try new things everytime we go. Always great never had a bad meal. Drinks are thr bomb and music on the Weekends.
As always great food and great service. Instead of getting my usual lechon stew tried the empanadas and a bowl of chipotle corn soup. That may be my new favorite!
We love the relaxed yet upscale vibe!! Delicious, great service, wonderful...our family favorite spot
Enjoyed our meal. Wait staff very attentive.
Food good! Service so-so
Great food, service, live music and value!
I've been here a couple of times, the food is great! The service has been wonderful until my recent visit (05/25/2019). When it came time to pay, our server never came back with change nor a receipt. While I was waiting for the change and/or receipt, the server never came back to ask if we needed anything else. We were still on our last pitcher of mojito. While we're finishing it we waited about another ten minutes to see if the server would stop by to at least give my receipt for proof of payment. She never stopped by and we left the establishment. I don't recall the server's (female with curly hair) name but this was the same person who was serving drinks at the bar three weeks prior I had visited, which also messed up my drink that day!
Service was great but food was bland and overpriced. Tried multiple items off the menu and nothing was special. Empanadas were cold and undercooked. Cost wasn’t worth the taste. Would recommend possibly since others seem to like this place, but I won’t be going back.
Our first time trying a Cuban restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food was colorful and tasty, and the mixed drinks were creative. We started with the beef empanadas, and an order of the calamari. The beef empanadas were bite sized sitting on some lettuce and topped with some sauce. Looked like thousand island dressing, but it matched the warm and crispy empanadas. The lettuce were a bit wilted, maybe it soaked most of the oil from the fried empanadas. We didn't care for it much, as the empanadas were the main attraction. The calamari on the other hand could be a little bit more crispier too, but the light batter was just right served with a side cilantro sauce. Main courses that we ordered, Ropa Vieja (braised beef) with sofrito, Churrasco steak, Paella, Salmon (not in the menu now), and plantain crusted halibut. All were excellent except for the Churrasco steak. It was cooked well done, when we requested medium rare, and the sofrito and bean mixed rice was bland compared to their regular sofrito, which was quite good. There was a DJ playing local music, so it can get pretty loud, but unless you're not looking for a quiet place to dine, this is a lively place to go. We'll go back if we're in the area. $50 per person with 1 drink.
Great music, fun vibe and very good food and cocktails too.
Food was barely average. Crab cakes were ok but Seafood in paella were over cooked, pork chop was thin and dry, halibut was over cooked. Moscow Mule was diluted or not enough alcohol. Been there twice in 2 mos. Good thing we had a Groupon. Not going there again.
All their food and drinks is excellant and very friendly staff
The food was not as good as it has been in the past. At first I thought it was just me but we both agreed.
I have been at this restaurant 3 times and this is the first time when I thought the food was just not all that good. My friend ordered crab cakes and mango gazpacho which she liked. I ordered the avocado salad which was good, but the arroz con pollo tasted like nothing. The chicken had no taste. You cannot cook a fresh chicken and have it with no taste, so my feeling is that the chicken was cooked a few days earlier and then frozen and reheated. The saffron rice on which it was served was also tasteless. Another friend and I were here about 3 yrs ago and the arroz con pollo was excellent, so I don't know what happened. It was a very disappointing meal and I doubt I will ever return.
I had the paella, the version with seafood, chicken and seafood. It was really excellent and the chorizo was the best I've had--not too spicy or salty. My drink, an $8 malibu mojito, was also excellent. I would come back and order the same items!
The colorful decor and paintings had a Cuban ambiance. The food was delicious; there was a good selection. The platanos (plaintains) were so sweet, just the way I like them.
The place was great, but there was a party going on with screaming kids. The distracted from the evening a bit. The food was excellent. The service was very good.
Service was great, canned music was very loud where our table was but our server kindly had it lowered. The food was the problem. I had adobo chicken which was very dry and bland as was the beans and rice. My husband had fish which was also very dry and a bit bland. Son had Paella which he said was pretty good.
