H4C Place St-Henri Ratings and Reviews
This was my second time at H4C; although, it was my first time ordering brunch. I was not disappointed! Everything was on point! We started with the homemade doughnuts and brioche with the assortments of jams and spreads, all of which paired extremely well with the baked goods. Afterwards, I went for the Eggs Bene, and I was not disappointed. Between the venison sausage, the classic Hollandaise sauce or the wild mushrooms, the dish came together extremely well. Definitely, will be returning!
We enjoyed our brunch at H4C. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Our only piece of feedback was around portion sizes. While my dish was a sufficient size (poached eggs with smoked salmon), my husband's gnudi was smaller than an appetizer portion! Luckily, our son didn't touch the pancakes we ordered for him so my husband (thankfully) didn't leave starving. Everything else about our meal was great!
We loved everything about H4C. We celebrated my birthday there. We were a group of seven, and everybody loved all of their dishes. They had good gluten-free options and interesting cocktails. The ambiance was fantastic. Staff was great. Thank you for making my special occasion special indeed!
Allez-y!
Excellent meal prepared by Chef Bolduc and his team, with very interesting pairings from the sommelier which included a sake as well as a beer. Honestly the meal ran long and my wife lost interest near the end. This may have been due to our later reso rather than the kitchen's pacing. This is an excellent place to let the chef shine by taking on the long tasting but I don't think I would recommend the pairing with the current menu. I think a 730PM reservation would have been perfect. I will return, perhaps alone, to see what Chef Bolduc comes up with next.
I thought food was prepared with a very high level of sophistication and technical skill. Original and interesting. Overall highly executed. I thought sommelier was terrific. My wife and I shared each plate and asked sommelier to pair a glass we could share for each entree and main course (4 in total). Really made the meal with exceptional selected and unique wines that paired beautifully. Out of 5 dishes (including dessert) I'd say 4 were homeruns and one was good but not great. Ambiance is modern without being cold. We sat at bar and talked to chef bolduc at end of evening which we enjoyed and even brought us a little treat at end. Service was good although sometimes of a lag between courses (a bit uneven). Not too noisy and crowd was varied. Young couples to older couples on double dates. Really enjoyed the evening. Nice hidden gem in the area that doesn't get as much fanfare as it should.
