H2O: Seafood & Sushi Ratings and Reviews
This was an $80 check for two people, no drinks, no dessert. We both had the squash soup which was very good. We should have stopped there. I had a lobster roll and the lobster looked pan fried in order to heat it up- chewy and sparse but loads of fries. My partner had fish and chips - three small pieces of fish and alot of fries. The best part of the meal was the popovers served before the meal.
While waiting for out table (2030 Res.) we sat in the Bar area (Tall table) We decided to order an app. & then Dinner there.. Bridget (Server) was great & we gave up our Res. and stayed in the bar area. We were the last people to leave the site and the staff continued to be helpful without pushing us to leave. It was a very good Date for me and we'll be back
Service & food was excellent!
Arrived 10 minutes early for our Sat night, 8PM reservation. At 8:45 we were shown to our table. After a little coaxing, the manager offered our group of 6 a round of drinks on him.
Our waiter was very nice and professional. He was very attentive.
The food was mediocre at best. With a few exceptions. The tornado sushi roll as an appetizer was really good. As was the fried calamari... one steak entee was also pretty good.
Drinks were also pretty good.
My Chilean sea bass was a small, dried out piece of fish. My wife had the grilled shrimp with mango salsa. She thought it wasn’t anything special. But she did like the salsa itself. Costco?
We haven’t been there in years and wanted to give it a try. Perhaps being Restaurant week it was a crazy night for them. But we won’t be returning anytime soon.
Food was outstanding. Hostess was delightful. Bar area was busy but not too noisy. Noise in the dining room was intolerable. At a table for four (booth) conversation was nearly impossible. Servers were nice but it took four tries to get additional popovers and they were finally delivered after most of the entrees were finished.
My husband and I have been eating for years at H2O. It is our go to restaurant for anniversary
Of course, we eat there many other times especially when they have their special dinners for
All their food is suburb, never had any dish we didn't enjoy
Plus it has great ambiance
We have dined at this restaurant several times. The seafood is generally good and some items are very good or excellent (for example, the lobster roll). My major complaint is that the food is way overpriced. A steamed 2 lb lobster is $50 and comes with nothing but the lobster itself (except for some melted butter). Most fish dishes are good but they cost $35 or $36 and the quality does not justify the price. We have had better fish dinners at excellent restaurants like Kitchen a Bistro in St. James, Fifth Season in Port Jefferson, and Orto in Miller place for $7-$8 dollars less.
This was our first visit to H2O and it will definitely not be our last. From beginning to end, everything was wonderful. We had an excellent server (Jeannette) who was patient with all of our questions and requests. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The Mexican corn was outrageous and we loved our sushi rolls. We each had different types of fish/seafood and fishes were prepared perfectly, moist and not overdone. The accompaniments were excellent. We couldn't decide which desserts to have so we had them all and they were all outrageous. Loved the peanut butter crunch in the banana split. Sinfully rich hazelnut sponge chocolate fudge cake with crispy candy crust. Creamy cheesecake, amazing crème brulee and soft warm donuts with cream accompaniment. Can't wait to return, so many more items on the menu that I want to try.
Disappointed since our last visit 3 years ago. Much more casual. Service was so so. Went for anniversary and it wasn’t anniversary special. Food was still excellent but it wasn’t the same. Don’t think I would make the trip again.
Excellent friendly service and the restaurant has several seafood and steak choices. The food was prepared well and very tasty. The restaurant itself is very clean and contemporary. Will definitely be a frequent customer at this relaxing neighborhood restaurant when in the mood for good seafood.
