Prix fixe with wine pairing
Popcorn monkfish was delicious, as were the scallops with sunchoke puree. The wines were good, but the Sangiovese with the main course was COLD. We raised the issue with staff, but really not remedied.
Still, terrific value
Great experience. Try the Wednesday wine pairing!
Food was excellent. Service was not very attentive. Totally forgot one of our guests appetizer order.
We have enjoyed H2O before but never on a Saturday night. Our table was "ready" and we even were taken to a booth, as per our request. BUT the noise level was intolerable. It was not because people were just loud -- apparently the restaurant does not have appropriate noise absorbing decor.
The prices appear to be more like NY prices. Vodka on the rocks $15 before tax and tip? That's a lot. Sushi roll, $24, really was ordinary. Truthfully, the highlight was the POPOVER's and the very nice waiter. The main courses (other than the skirt steak) were minimal, at best.
We will return -- just not on a Saturday night. We will give it one more try.
We had 7pm reservations on a Saturday night and they had no seafood special and was pushing the steak special. They said they ran out of the seafood special. Really? If we wanted steak why would we go to a restaurant called H2O??
2nd time there, everything was wonderful , service , food was great. Definitely a great place to eat.
Amazing restaurant week menu and our waiter Stephen was fantastic!!!!
We would like to thank Mr. Bolsen for the $50 gift card he gifted us after our bad experience on our last visit. Since we were five minutes early and our table not ready, we opted to sit at the bar which was a gr at choice. The bar tender, Brittany, greater is warmly. Her Jalapeño margarita-excellent balance. Cosmopolitan-perfect balance & color. Although simple drinks, many cannot master the balance. We started with:
Kummodo oysters and Claims Casino. We enjoyed both.
Chilean sea bass fresh spinach & potato pancake were very good.
Branzino on top of asparagus with tomatoes garlic excellent. We enjoyed the good food and skipped dessert. Highly recommend-great fish.
Went for restaurant week and the Value was fantastic. Starters, main course and all the wine pairings were great. Dessert was a little subpar donuts and cookies on ice cream sandwich was very hard.. we didn’t finish dessert. Besides that it was their usual great meal.
Excellent food and and service. I’ve eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Servers and other staff are all polite and always smiling.
I love the popovers, light and airy. Very noisy though, maybe they need some soundproofing or something. I highly recommend H2O.
The menu always presents interesting items. I would recommend the wine pairings.
Great food and service. Highly recommend
My wife and I dined early Saturday evening and so we qualified for the restaurant week menu. The course choices were available with wine pairings for an additional $11 and the meal was made even more enjoyable. The server and staff were all very polite, efficient and knowledgeable, making our evening terrific. I would go back again and again.
Went during Restaurant Week. We were 8, for a birthday celebration, and sat in the lounge area, near the sushi bar, where it was very loud/"energetic." A little hard to talk/hear, but a fun atmosphere, for sure. Food was great, our server was great, but once we got to the dessert course, we were handed over to another server and it took some time to get our desserts and any attention. I was told by the manager when I made the reservation that we'd get some special attention for the birthday celebrant, as well as a gift card to return, but that did not happen since it was such a busy night/space and hard to hear, so we did not have a chance to ask. All and all, it was a fun night and an enjoyable meal and, yes I will definitely return to H2O.
Sat on time and portions were excellent for an occasion like restaurant week.
Noise level is very loud. Makes it difficult to speak to each other at the table
Disappointing food. The interior of the restaurant was a totally different style then expected. The outdoors is so cool, sleek and inviting, but the indoors does not match the exterior. We were there for restaurant week and while the service was good and they were very accommodating with any changes, the food was not tasty.
Great stuff , service was perfect food also excellent
Went for Restaurant week and did choose the price fixe menu. Waiters were young and forgetful also not too many women waiting tables or busing. As my appetizer I had the Sushi roll H2O, it was refreshing, delicious, & definitely 5 stars. Main course-Had the scallops with Sweet Potato risotto. Scallops were way too small for an Entree and only got 4. Risotto was cold, bland and very Gummy-Would not recommend. Dessert was the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich. It was delicious but the cookies should've been just a little softer and had more chocolate syrup on the plate. Of note, I had a glass of wine at the bar while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. The bar area is nice, but wine from a tap, YUCK!! It tasted like metal, just awful. Play it safe and order a beer or real drink.
Our lobster & fish were perfectly prepared. We will definitely return.
This is an extra-special restaurant. The service was top-notch and our dinner was absolutely fantastic!
It was the first time there for the four of us. We decided to try it for Restaurant Week. Two of us ordered from the special $28.95/three course menu. Two of us ordered the "Sunday special" of hanger steak and shrimp ($24 instead of $34). They enjoyed their meal and said they would return. My branzino fillet was way overcooked and dried out, but the asparagus and tomatoes were perfectly crispy-tender. My sweet potato soup offered as the only non-shellfish appetizer was good , with a slight kick. The ice-cream sandwich dessert came on a thick cookie that was dense and brick-like. Way too thick and very difficult to bite into. The other Restaurant Week entree special, ordered by our friend, was seared scallops with pumpkin risotto. He enjoyed the risotto, but the scallops were the tiny one, and he expected the larger sea scallops, which he prefers. He ordered the fried lobster wontons appetizer and they were good. For dessert, he had the doughnuts (holes) with coffee whipped cream. Also good. We were looking for tap beer, but they only have wine on tap. Service was pleasant and unrushed and while I think the restaurant committed the ultimate mistake - especially for a seafood place - in way-overcooking my fish, my friends and I plan to return to give it another try. It was a pleasant enough experience.
Food was very good, but, it came over an hour after ordering. We spent 2 1/4 hours. So loud we could not hear anyone across the table and we came for my wife's 50th birthday and prior to arriving asked for a candle but H2O forgot.
The service was extremely horrible. We ordered drinks from the bar when we arrived and brought them to our table. When we ordered a second round from our waiter it took forever to get a glass of wine and one drink was never served. When we asked about the wine we were told they were "tapping a new keg". It took about 25 minutes for the wine to arrive. Our water glasses weren't refilled until requested. The appetizers came out timely however about 45 minutes elapsed until our entrees came. We asked where our food was after the long wait and were told "it was fired late". Bottom line was fair-good food that you came find a any number of Long Island restaurants with bad service. Will not be returning.
Pop overs ...... amazing
Every time we have been here it was an enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food has always been delicious. Thank you for a great experience!
Great meal and consistently good quality every time we visit. Fish is always very fresh and prepared to perfection. Love the sushi menu.
Restaurant was vibrant and energetic! We were sat at a booth in the back which was directly in front of the heat vent. We would get the blast of hot air whenever the temperature dropped.
Food was great! We all had a fish dish that were cooked and presented very well
Would return again
This restaurant never disappoints. Great food, great staff
Food was excellent and very well presented. The scallops with curry sauce was superb. Service was extremely professional yet friendly, the Valet Parking is a plus. The ambiance is a bit brighter then I would prefer and the booths give it a more casual feeling. Well worth the 40 minute drive.
this is one of the few solid seafood choices on Long Island. The food and service is consistently good. I would recommend it to anyone.
Good place. Great waiter- michale- room was a little musty. Sushi was good. Chilean sea bass was awesome. Dessert could use some help.
Second time they ran out of dessert on us and my fish tasted way too fishy but they couldn’t give me a new one because apparently they ran out of that too. What a joke
Great meal and great service as always! Wanted to give a special compliment to the manager who helped with a very awkward parking situation like a champ. Thank you so much!
Everyone loved everything they ordered. Delicious!
Felt a little rushed but it was New Years Eve
Friends get together. We have been to H2O many times. Fish is the best. We were seated in a booth ( there are table and booth seating). Our crafted cocktails arrived to everyone’s delight. Popovers served next. Huge popovers were amazing! Oysters were served next with sauces of mignonette and cocktail sauce on the side. Oysters were delicious. Sushi was our next course and unfortunately the service dropped off. Sushi was left at table with no description as to what roll was what. No dishes, chopsticks, dipping dishes or soy sauce were delivered. Our friend had to flag down wait staff. In hindsight, a manager should have been notified. Finally, our dishes were delivered. Sushi was average compared to their excellent fish. We all agreed to order fish next time. This was the first time after many visits the service was lacking.
Highly recommend for oysters, fish, and cocktail.
Great sushi, margarita drink was terrible but they replaced with pineapple mojito
