H&F Burger - Asheville

The restaurant closed for several weeks with no advance warning to anyone that had standing reservations. Kind of difficult to get last minute reservations elsewhere at 7 pm on a Friday. Kind of hard to fathom that lack of service from a James Beard winner.

The burger was fabulous! Selected the restaurant from the Open Table website based on reviews and it was an excellent pick! They didn’t have the onion rings we were excited about, but that burger!!!

We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the food was outstanding! I had the cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly. The pretzel was delicious and I wanted to take the dipping sauce home with me! Will definitely visit again when in Asheville!!

Food was excellent. Probably the best burger in Asheville! They have a create your own charcuterie board and it was great. We liked being able to pick out the cheeses and meats that we liked. My partner got a boozy chocolate shake and loved it. We sat outside. There were heaters so it was the perfect temperature. Overall, a really great date night spot.

Interesting menu and good layout of restaurant, but disappointing food. So many better options in Asheville. Won't be going back.

We’re native ATLiens, so we had to swing by and see if the Asheville location is holding it down. No surprises - wonderful food, reasonable prices, and lovely staff. Cannot for the life of us see why some of the reviews on here talk poorly of the staff, food, and prices. All three were tip-top for us. In fact, we visited 2X in just 3 days! If you’re a burger purist this will come as no shock to you. We sampled the fried chicken skins, pimento cheese, deviled eggs, onion rings, and hand pie in addition to the burger and hotdog. Make sure to try both the homemade mustard and homemade ketchup! Oh, and where else can you get sticky toffee pudding outside the UK - one the the best dessert dishes on the planet?

After reading the hype, I tried them on a very quiet Sunday lunch. The burger, while tasty, was nothing more than a glorified Five Guys or Shake Shack burger. Onion rings light on the onion and salty. Large portion, as were the fries for my buddy. Fried oysters cooked nicely coming with a remoulade. Homemade ketchup was very good.

Heard rave reviews and after some mediocre fancy meals we wanted a good meal, H and F was excellent, we had the fried chicken skins (the buffalo sauce made them a little soft so next time I’ll order it on the side), the burgers were delicious and the onion rings were thin and fried super crispy, best I’ve had in a long time...The service wasn’t the best as my drink wasn’t refilled and it took a while for someone to come check on us but it is a casual place and last but not least the vanilla milkshake was delicious

Went for a late lunch, everything was delicious and the staff/service was exceptional. Will definitely be adding this to my rotation.

Best burger and fries in Asheville, though have enjoyed other items on the menu, as well. Place was lively for lunch yesterday, which added a nice vibe. Go and enjoy.

We sit on the patio, we love going H&F. They had a drink special with proceeds going to help the Orange Peel Music Hall...we thought that was really cool and every one ordered one. Good food, good people.

All I can say is yummy. Every bite is delicious. Great oysters and love those Buffalo chicken skins. We enjoyed holeman and finch in Atlanta and glad they now have an outpost in Asheville. Thanks for 2 great meals in 2 days.

Everything was truly delicious! Bone marrow, 17 hr cooked bacon and burger were exceptional.

Great place that is much more than burgers! The food was exceptional and the menu was varied enough that we both were able to find multiple items that we loved. The in-house made condiments made the meal even more of a treat.

We love H&F Burger! The food is excellent and they have the best pickles! The cheeses are great and love that you can order them individually, only complaint is that we always run out of toasted baguettes, it feels cheap and I think they should just give you more. Eclectic music, sleek vibe, good drink options. I don't feel like many, if any, other restaurants downtown are this good of a value. This place is underrated, definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner last night at H&F burger. Went in with husband and 13 y/o daughter. Loved the pimento cheese appetizer....pickles were great. Husband loved the bone marrow app. Delicious veggie burger, fun desserts. Would recommend! Great service too.

Great food and service!

Food was amazing! We had 2 of the cheeses which were both great. I had a turkey burger and my husband had a regular burger which were both so tasty. They even make their own ketchup! Delicious!

Must try the Buffalo fried chicken skins And deviled eggs.

Great casual place with excellent service and great food, and drinks

I saw this place on Open Table and thought it would be a good place for a late lunch after the outlets. Christa was our server and she did a super job taking care of us. The food was great, and the burger is well worth the visit. Fries, onion rings and potato skins were all freshly made and perfectly cooked. The beer list is full of great local beers (we had the Valdez Coffee Stout - paired well with lunch) and they have specialty cocktails created by their staff. If you don’t want to stand in line at the usual places, definitely come here! We certainly will!

Everyone we encountered was helpful, professional, and friendly. We enjoyed everything: the food & the casual, upbeat vibe. Sure the hamburger was classically delicious but the turkey burger was also delightful. Ordering both the French fries and onion rings is a guilty pleasure you won’t regret as both are perfectly prepared- hot and crispy on the outside but tender and tasty on the inside! I recommend drinking one of their great cold beers with the hot food but then choosing among their boozy shakes to top off the meal. This is not the place to save calories but to savor them. And definitely check out their Sunday Date Night opportunity!

I had the Wagyu filet and my boyfriend had a burger with a fried egg and bacon added. Everything was amazing! Strong drinks, juicy meat, perfectly cooked fries. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in town again.

H&F Burger was good, but they should change their name since there is only one type of burger on the menu. The rest is chicken and oysters. They also offer a trio of deviled eggs appetizer that was delicious, composed of 3 types of deviled eggs. The craft cocktails are amazing and it was nice to see a domestic beer on the menu amidst the local fare. COVID practices made you feel safe and healthy. Nice job.
