Gyu-Kaku - Tustin, CA
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
The service could use some help. My boyfriend asked for another beer and never got it. It took them longer to bring out the uncooked meat then it did for the cooked noodles we ordered. I find that odd
customer service everyone was great
Great Food and Service
I can't go back to korean BBQ!! This is my happy meal utopia.
Awesome food and excellent service!
The food was very good. It was fun to talk and cook yourself
Waited at the counter for over 5 mins before anyone greeted us. The restaurant was too loud, we have to talk very loud to hear each other. I was surprised that a BBQ restaurant do not have huge sucking air vent, only fan, I had a fan right behind me and I got a big headache after I left the restaurant. Would not recommend to anyone, I certainly will not go back to this restaurant.
Restaurant doesn't have good ventilation. Service is not slow but always missed an item or two each time we ordered.
I love Gyu Kaku but this location messed up my food order multiple times. Our server was kind and friendly but kitchen seemed to be messing things up
I've been coming to this Gyu-Kaku for years and always have a good experience. Best eats are the Gyu-Kaku salad, garlic noodles, sukiyaki bibimbap, mushroom medley, and of course the meats like the bistro hangar steak and Toro beef are amazing.
Fantastic, great service and food was so delicious. Go!
Dinner was great! It was our friend’s’ first time there and they enjoyed the food and were shocked at how good the price was. Thanks!
A great place for a big meal, for family or a date.
The food and service are always consistently excellent at this location.
Gyu-kaku is INCREDIBLE. One of our favorite places to eat.
Perfect for a casual Friday evening celebration dinner. Our waitress was fabulous at guiding us through the perfect amount of food to order.
Was seated quickly, good service, and the food was excellent. We spent father’s day here and ordered the all you can eat ultimate. It was served to us in a timely manner and the waiters were really nice. Fresh meat and good selections. Would definitely recommend this place!!!
Floor was a little slippery, almost slipped once while taking my daughter to the restroom (where there was a gentleman in there). Other then that it’s perfect. We love going there.
Food was great. Taste and cut portions are great! Server was nice and friendly. Orders just come in very slow that there are times we’re not cooking anything on the grill because we’re waiting. Maybe because it was Father’s Day... the place was full. But the good thing was they didn’t charge us extra for going over our 90 min time limit. We’d come back! 😊 Hopefully they also improve on the restaurant’s ambiance— make it more Japanese style decor inside. The exterior look of the restaurant also needs improvement.
It’s one of my favorite places to go, one thing I wish they would change and I’ve requested this multiple times but they have the worst rice. It’s always dry. And it’s too bad since rice is what compliments the grilling items.
The food and service were good, but the lack of parking makes it unlikely I will return.
Great! Enough said
Super attentive staff amazing food...
I can't wait to go back and have some more all you can eat Japanese bbq. I love it so much!!! This is my first time too, I can not go back to Korean bbq anymore.
As a first time here, it was great. Staff is very friendly and attentive with my party and others as well. Meat is good their rice is excellent. A good place to go with friends and have a great time.
Came for a rainy day late lunch (3:30) for my Brother’s birthday and such a great experience! Had never eaten here...have wanted to for years but not willing to wait since they’re PACKED almost all of the time! Food was delicious (opt for the higher quality meats worth the price difference - we did the Samurai for 4), and the meal we chose offered a great variety of types of meat, shrimp, poultry and veggies & other accompanying dishes ( rice & noodles and S’mores for dessert! ) Service: our service was TERRIFIC 30% + terrific! Sara, Austin and Sophia were so amicable, helpful, attentive, educational and knew the menu and could explain everything down to cooking times and techniques perfectly. Sara was especially just all around excellent and such a pleasure and made our celebration so enjoyable! We need more Sara’s in this world!!!!
Bonus.... we arrived accidentally during happy so we were able to eat and drink with happy hour prices!
We left happy and full.
We had a great time celebrating at this restaurant. Service was excellent, food were awesome & delicious. Price was very reasonable.
Really good food and friendly staff.
It's a cool restaurant to go to. If you go during lunch you most run into business professionals who are in a rush to get a bite. Stopped by during lunch, it was busy, a lot of people but open table allowed me to reserve my table ahead of time without any wait. Staff is friendly and I definitely recommend the Meat Lover's heh heh
For the first time in a long time at this location, service and food was great! Management must really be working to turn this location around, and it shows!
My boyfriend and I love this place. It’s our favorite restaurant to go to with the kids. They enjoy cooking for us. It’s a great experience and the food is amazing.
Awful awful customer service at this location. Will not be returning. Food was subpar.
My first time here and my only regret is that I haven't stopped for a bite here sooner. Great restaurant!!!
Front lobby needs a spruce up/cleaning, and the was no one at the front desk for a few minutes, but overall solid visit, great team service, and great food.
Really great find! We wanted Japanese food and found this place and tried it based on the reviews. It was super delish! The service was also excellent. The only drawback is that there isn’t enough parking and there’s no street parking. But well worth circling the block a few times to wait for a spot to open up.
Took a friend for the first time. She said it was much better than she expected. We had tuna volcano, beef bibimbap, filet mignon, mushrooms and shrimp...followed by the season matcha tiramisu. Every bite was delicious.
The food is great, but, it does take a while to cook, so be sure to give yourself time to account for that.
The service is fine. The parking can be hard sometimes, but, we usually find parking after a while.
Making a reservation for dinner helps lessen the wait.
