Food was delicious and service was friendly. The price was good for the amount that served 2 people well. I like both the HB location and the Tustin.

Food was a little different tasting than what we were use to from the Huntington Beach location. Food quality felt a little less also.

It was mentioned to multiple people, including our Open Table reservation that it was my birthday and I didn’t get a birthday dessert, song, etc. Dessert was included in the price of our meal, so it’s not like it cost the restaurant extra. A candle would have been nice. Gyu Kaku is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, but we won’t be back. Benihana gets our business now.
I dine here just for the Harami in Secret Pot, but EVERYTHING here is delicious.

Great food. We had the all you can eat option and sometimes it took a while to get the food ordered. The staff made up for it by allowing us to go longer.

We had an awesome experience at Gyu Kaku for my husbands birthday dinner. 4 kids and 3 adults and we had a blast. I recommend the all you can eat so you can try multiple items
Food has become too salty. Air quality has worsened over the years. The main dining hall is now too smoky. Can't make conversation over the noise. Meat selections has decreased in quality as well as variety. Started to come here when it first opened, this time will be our last.

my only complaint is they took about 25 minutes to seat us. We were there on time. Everything else was great.
While the food remains excellent, the restaurant itself is looking a bit tired. Walls need to be repainted, floors refinished, and small repairs made to screens, etc. It's a busy restaurant, but currently, the physical plant lets down the excellence of the food and choices. Won't stop me going, but needs a refresh.
The food is always great at this restaurant and we visit here quite often. The service is usually outstanding as well, but on this particular visit, the service was a little lacking. We had ordered the AYCE special dinner and just about every time we wanted to order something, we had to flag down a waiter. Also, we realized it was towards the end of the the evening, but also had to flag down our waiter not only to get our check, but also had to flag someone down to take care of it.
Just the place is dirty and there is major health code issues
Me and my boyfriend love this place we come all the time and have been coming for the past 4 valentines but this year on v-day I don’t like how they only had a special menu with only 3 courses you could choose from (course A, B, C) not the actual menu.. we are usuals so we no what we like on the menu. But we choose the B course and it was way to much food for only two people and when we got the bill the waitress charged us for the A course which was more expensive.. which was disappointing

Made a reservation for 4 on sunday 2/2/2020 we got there 10 mins early and they were able to seat us right away, hostess asked us if we had any questions before our server arrived. Very courteous, and our server was excellent through out as well :) we got the 60$ food lovers deal for 2 (it fed all 4 tho), 2 ramen, and 2 appetizers, noticed they changed the grill top at our table when it got too saturated with extra food bits. The music was a bit loud so it made talking and responding with the server and ourselves a bit more difficult but overall excellent everything .
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding as well. We had the AYCE course and the waiter continuously came back to check to see if we needed anything and never had to wait long for additional items we ordered.
Food was excellent except cooked rice. Rice taste looks like changed. Taste seems to be made using different rice or undercooked?

I have been going to Gyu-Kaku at various locations for years. The food is always so good (basil chicken, garlic shrimp, miso hanger steak are my favorites) and quality is amazing. The atmosphere is fun and ending on a s’mores dessert is great! However, the Tustin location needs to do something about the ventilation. Halfway through our meal it got really smoky and hazy. It was a little stifling until we got used to it. But other than that, always pleased with food and pricing is not bad for the quality and the occasion.
Servers were nice and quick and attentive. For the price we paid, it is quite pricey compared to all-you-can-eat KBBQ spots, but it is a different dining experience compared to those spots.

Great Service, Server was friendly with a great smile. Helped us plan out our order, Great recommendations. We are coming back for sure.
