I have been here with my wife, family and friends. Never had a bad experience and the Food is great!
This restaurant is so much fun and the food is delicious! Have been to two different locations and have always enjoyed the restaurant. The staff is always friendly, helpful and make sure your food is what you were expecting. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Loud, busy, loads of kids. Expensive for the quality of food received. Would not go back.
Had to wait even though we had a reservation. Food was very good and high quality. Service moved fast once we were at the table.
I love this place! I always make time to go and eat with friends and family. It fun
The parking is very limited. I recommend you to get here 10-20minures early.
It was a great experience for my first visit. Definitely recommend!
Our favorite family restaurant! Always a pleasure!
First time in for two frequent Korean Bbq diners. This is somewhat similar and meat centric, but far more meat type plate options, appetizer choices, and ways of ordering from menu pricing options. The grated grill pit mid table burns hot and fast. We'll be back. Fresh, tasty, fun!
Always love coming to Gyu Kaku! The food is always delicious! We did have to wait a little bit for one of my coworkers’ food because the oven can only fit so many stone bowls, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Other than that, everything was great! Will definitely be coming back here!
The food is always fantastic at this restaurant and the series’s outstanding as well.
Staff is nice and attentive but either they deliberately fill orders slowly to limit the all you can eat or the kitchen can’t keep up with the customers. Likely the former.
Place is great, food is great, service sometimes juts goes out of the window. ( I mean by that, delays on clean up or layout, different server taking stuff, bringing stuff, not sure who is handling the table. Very minimal interaction when they are busy)
But I will come
Back every time. I hate to request a certain server, but sometimes we get lucky and it’s just a grand experience.
The service here is very slow & disappointing. I went to the one in cupertino, ca & with the service we received there I had high expectations for this location. & I was just upset with how slow they were. We waited 25 mins to have our miso soup brought out to us. Not including appetizer / food. & we were on a “timed” schedule with the food.
Very clean restaurant with great food. The only problem is that they are always understaffed so the meat takes a long time to get to the table. We had reservations but it took us 6 mins before we were seated (we arrived on time), then it took 10mins to take our drinks and order and it was almost 30-40mins before got our first order of meats. We had a 90min period for the AYCE but alot of time was spend just waiting for the food to arrive. Other than the slow service, everything was great. We still tipped the server well because she did what she can and scheduling a wait staff can be tricky.
Been coming to this place for a few years now and enjoying the happy hour prices.
This place has amazing BBQ and meat quality. It is too noisy though.
The spot is too much noisy.
Food was very good, the servicewas good. But we waitted 20minutes betwwen the first order, and the 2nd one ( we took all you can eat menu)
We made our reservation for 7:15 and we were not seated until 8:00. It was a bit frustrating but given how small the location is it's easy to see how this can happen. It is also a very loud restaurant. Table conversation is difficult at best and you will find yourself either talking to the person next to you or yelling across the table to be heard(Friday night) The service was alright but food was fantastic. The meat was tender and flavorful. Rice was well cooked. It was a great meal.
Our server Phi was very congenial, attentive, quick, and made good recommendations. I would definitely come back.
I would have rated the food a 5 star however, they recently changed their calamari dish. Now their calamari looks like onion rings and not crunchy. Smaller portion. They used to carry my all time favorite calamari. Tears. Otherwise everything is delicious.
Love this place. Not as overwhelming as Korean BBQ but so delicious too. Always love this place for big parties and with kids is easy too. Make reservations. It’s just easier on the weekends.
Gyu Kaku is always a good place to go for Japanese BBQ. Only downside... PARKING. You have to fight for parking space during lunch and dinner and they only have one small parking strip by the resto which is always full. No other lot in the area apart from that. The other portion of the parking lot is exclusive to other stores that there.. Its too much trouble sometimes for BBQ. Better to go to another branch which has more parking. Or go at a non peak time
Guy-Kaku is our go-to favorite place for birthdays and even Christmas! We go with friends and it’s always such a good time with delicious food. And the price is amazing for what you get with it. They’ve changed it a little so for the Meat Lover’s you get a little less, but still a great deal overall.
Great food, prompt service as always!
love this place. service is good and food is delish!
Waited 20 minutes to be seated, then gave up and left. The point of a reservation is to NOT sit there waiting for a table. Went somewhere else instead and probably saved time.
Great food great service
Been on here on a couple occasions. The service was interesting because we had our server switched up a couple times. Sometimes it takes a while, drinks at times weren't filled... I don't want to nitpick; I would give service 3 stars but I would rather be encouraging and have them step it up upon reading reviews... their staff is fairly polite, I would suggest it's little things such as having appetizers come out before drinks... etc.
Food as AWESOME, it's a super fun spot where you can cook some really great meat and foods. The Smores dessert is so good. Overall it's a fantastic spot and especially with their pricing the value is truly exceptional. For 3-4 of us, we ordered two of their course meal combos (I forget the technical name they have for them).
Just tighten up the screws a bit and you've got a wonderful spot. Will come back for sure and bring people with.
PS: Tables with windows next to parking lot/adjacent businesses should have an option of lowering blinds or something... not the most enticing scenery.
We come here A LOT.. and hands down this was the single best experience we have had. Love this place and will be using open table for reservations again.. they actually listened to our preference of table and they were so awesome!! Our server David was very informative and on point!!
We had a wonderful time but we just needed a bit more assistance with our marshmallow
Having been to many other Gyu-Kaku locations, I have a solid idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience we've ever had at a Gyu-Kaku location. We opted for the premium all you can eat menu, and placed our first order for drinks and meat at the same time. Half an hour later, we received 5 of 10 meat orders, and none of the drinks. After the drinks finally came, we ordered another round of meat, proceeding to wait another 15 minutes for our meat to start arriving. Our meat finally arrived nearly an hour after sitting down, obviously messily prepared and with multiple orders per plate. Our server then informed us he was leaving for the evening and turned us over to someone else. We finished the meal with slightly better service, but all left thoroughly disappointed in the experience.
I am very disappointed with the experience because we had been to this restaurant before and it was good. However, this time when. I brought my friend from Africa to try it. They are out of some of the main ingredients of the ir food and drink, e.g., green onions! They didn't have it for the beef tongue which is a signature dish of their restaurant. They also didn't have it for the Korean fried rice. Green onions is not a rare kitchen ingredient and the fact that this restaurant needs them so much for several dishes shows me very little care the management is putting into providing the quality food. Then they are also out of both shochu on the menu. And then they forget to bring the beer I order until I remind them. AND then they forgot one of dish we ordered, and didn't bring it out until they asked us if it has come and only comes after we ordered more food. Overall, the management of the service is a mess.
Always the best. A family favorite. Just discovered the Miso salmon! yummy! And the bacon chips a must try!
My son and I had never been to a Japanese bbq place and Gyu Kaku was recommended.
Nothing what I expected. The menu was confusing and even after asking the waiter to explain still didn’t get it.
Servings are small and the waiter took forever to get to us and it was not busy at all.
Don’t think we’ll be back.
Great staff and service as always! 😊
Delicious Food and great value! Service was fantastic.
We eat here all the time and it is always great! The food is fresh and the service is always on point.
We like this a lot! Food is always great and the prices are ridiculous. We're coming here weekly and never been disappointed. Only thing is there is a lot of smoke and people will be able to tell what you had for dinner by the smell of your clothes if you go out after dinner :)
